Best shell I’ve ever owned hands down!

Best waterproof shell I’ve ever had! Fits great and performs great. I sometimes use it just as a raincoat in the spring but mainly as a waterproof outer shell over my down coat.

I expect better arcteryx!

I bought this jacket as a waterproof, windproof outdoor jacket. For $700...you think it could perform as well as a garbage bag. I found this jacket soaked right through. You can buy way cheaper rain jackets that perform just as well.. I have bought 2 cerium puffer jacket, an insulated ski coat and a long parka too. I have invested heavily in arcteryx and I expect better for the money paid. I have written to arcteryx customer service and depending on the outcome, I will revise my experience. These products should perform. Period. No excuses, no special products to maintain. As a said, a garbage bag performs better only is not breathable and doesn't look as good.

Sometimes garments do not maintain its waterproofness because it is dirty. We recommend washing and reapplying DWR on your garments to reactivate the waterproofing. If your garment looks or feels dirty or is no longer beading water, give it a wash. With Heavy use (e.g. heavy activity) – wash every 5 to 8 days of use. With Light use (e.g. day to day) – wash every 10 to 20 days of use. Our After-Sales team sent you an email on January 30th and is just waiting to receive your jacket so we can complete a full assessment.

Not waterproof

The rain jacket was already leaking after a few weeks. Maybe it was a production error. The negative review is not because of that, but because I didn't get any help from customer service. My emails were always answered, but they didn't seem to understand my concerns. For expensive products, I also expect good customer service with suggested solutions that will help me. that was not the case.

Yes, it would have been great if the response from Arcteryx was to escalate, though sometimes this doesnt happen.
The hope is always that customer service would do whatever it takes to remedy a situation quickly and efficiently. If not, it can be a concern - especially at this price point.

Reliably Great

I bought this jacket for a 2021 trip to Iceland. The price made me wince. I brought another nice rain jacket as well, planning to return this one if it didn't perform. We did a lot of hiking in the whipping wind and rain and this jacket was OUTSTANDING. The other big name jacket I brought was useless in comparison. Since then, I use the Beta AR Jacket while I am coaching outside all day in the rain. It is completely waterproof except maybe one 2 inch spot on my shoulder. Every other jacket I own would fail at 4 hours. This one goes all day long. And it's extremely great at cutting the wind. I can layer warmer clothes under it to adjust for the temp. I went ahead and ordered the waterproof pants as well! Phone pocket is too small for my Pixel 8. I can cram it in there but I worry about damaging the zipper pocket. And don't use the hip pockets for your phone. If you leave those open they collect water lakes. No joke. My phone was in 2 inches of water in my (open) side pocket. Anyway, this jacket keeps me confident going out on the wettest/windiest days. I can't say enough about it. It's one of the most important pieces of outwear that I own.

Never disappoints!

As always, Arcteryx lives up to their reputation. The beta AR never fails to disappoint. I haven’t bought one in many years and was pleasantly surprised at an updated fit, being longer in the body than my previous jackets. Highly recommend, worth every dime!

Col montant taché après une utilisation

J'ai acheté ce produit il y a deux mois, et après seulement une utilisation, des tâches se sont présentées au col. j'ai toujours porté le manteau avec une couche en-dessous, et je fais très attention à mon matériel. Je me suis par la suite rendue chez Arcteryx afin de faire évaluer le problème par un employé, qui m'a confirmé que ce n'était pas normal pour un manteau neuf. J'ai contacté le service client, qui a refusé de garantir le manteau, sous prétexte qu'il s'agit d'usure normale, alors que le manteau est NEUF.
Bref, même s'il s'agit d'un manteau technique intéressant, je ne conseille pas du tout les couleurs autre que noires et bleu marine, car sinon, des tâches apparaissent rapidement, et la compagnie ne pourra rien y faire. Très décevant considérant qu'il devrait s'agir d'un manteau de qualité.

Love this Jacket! The best fit of a hard shell for women I have found so far.
I have a rather short upper body and it is finally not a jacket that fits like a dress and a little more boxy than women's jackets often fit which I love! So far the quality is great too.

Brilliant jacket on the Haute Route!

I have several Arc'teryx hard shells and bought the Beta AR for my daughter a couple of years ago. Emma wore it on the famous and challenging Haute Route, from Chamonix to Zermatt - see picture - and the Beta AR kept her snug, dry and warm in the face of the Alpine extremes on that classic tour. Be in no doubt - this is a brilliant jacket.

Couldn't be worst

I couldn't be more disappointed about Arc'teryx quality. The jacket just passed one season of ski before tearing at the elastic. That the second time that it happened to me with this brand. I thought it was just a defect, but it's absolutely not the case. I think that Arc'teryx should lower its prices to match the low quality they offer.

I ordered this rain jacket with Gortex Pro to keep me truly dry during hikes. I ordered a size much larger than my petite size so that my - always cold! - hands could be fully covered by the sleeves. Works perfectly!

Great Shell!

Perfect hardshell for all kind of use. Packable but still rigid. Really waterproof and also stains are easy to remove. I use my Beta AR for years now and bought the same for my wife. If it ever gets worn out I would buy the same jacket again.

Great jacket

Jacket is very lightweight, comfortable and waterproof. I have used it in heavy west coast rain a couple times now and it has kept me dry everytime. I am 5'8", 180lbs and size large fits me well.

Super good quality and keeps me dry

I bought the Beta Jacket with the intention of using it as a mountain activity jacket. It repels water and snow extremely well and also works as a great wind breaker in high elevations. Love that the hood fits over a helmet and the elastic drawstrings secure it in place!
