I own the Monitor Coat in XL, but it feels roomier than expected. I’m 184 cm tall with a 120 cm chest, 52 cm shoulders, and 72 cm sleeves. For everyday wear with light layering, would you recommend M or L for a cleaner silhouette?

Hi Ivan, thank you for your question! The Monitor Coat is designed with a relaxed fit, so it can feel roomier than expected, especially if you’re used to a more tailored silhouette. For a cleaner profile while maintaining comfort, sizing down to a Large would work well. If you’re looking for a more fitted look, a Medium may be a better option. Question 2

I was told in store that there was a slight difference in the fit between the new model and the 2024 model. Is that correct?

Hi there, thank you for your question. There is no difference in fit between the FW25 (model number: X000009523) and FW24 (model number: X000007774) Monitor Coat Men's. Both models feature our Relaxed fit and have the same measurements. For your reference, here are the key measurements for both models in size Medium (our base size):

Chest Width: 135.5cm
Waist Width: 136.5cm
Center Back Length: 84cm
Sleeve Length (from center back neck to shoulder point to bottom sleeve edge): 94cm

The only change between the two models is the fabric. The FW25 version uses a PFAS‑free GORE‑TEX ePE laminate with an FC0 DWR finish, replacing the previous GORE‑TEX ePTFE material that was used for the FW24 version. This update does not impact the fit. We hope this helps!

For added warmth, try pairing it with a base layer and an insulated mid-layer to create a versatile system that can adapt to a wide range of conditions. If you are looking for an all-in-one option with insulation, we recommend the Monitor Down Coat. It has a similar design but features 850 fill-power RDS goose down to keep you warm. We don’t necessarily have a mid-layer that we would specifically recommend to go under the Monitor Coat but we do have several options that you can look at. We have both synthetic materials and down mid-layers to choose from. Two questions:
1) How packable is the Veilance Monitor shell?
2) Should I size up if I'm wearing a suit under it? (typically a medium, 40" chest in a T-shirt)
My use case is as an emergency shell to pull out of my briefcase. I mostly wear suits at work.

The jacket is designed to be small in size when packed and can be easily packed into the hood. It is tough to say if you need to size up without exact measurements. What we can do is provide the measurements of sizes M and L for you.
