Solid pant!

My first pair of non veilance arcteryx pants. Very comfortable. Integrated belt is useful, highly adjustable, and nice for travelling.
Pockets all have zips for security, making this a great travel pant. No rear pockets encourages storage in the front, which is probably best for posture.
Would definitely recommend getting the right inseam length as the grommet and cinch cord at the hem prevents length alterations.
Overall very pleased with this pant and would consider getting another pair in a different colour.

Great fit and quality

As a 6'2" 220 guy how actively trains with SAR I wanted some pants there good for rope work and climbing but also comfortable enough for day to day wear. These are the perfect balance of technical and fit but also stylish. I ordered the 38 waist and they fit me perfect.

Poor quality - glued leg pocket coming apart.

Really disappointed with these pants. After a dozen or so washes the glued zipped leg pocket is coming apart. Why use glue in the first place instead of stitching? I am now going to have to pay to have these repaired/stitched locally.
Another, thing these pants shrink even at a 30 degrees washing cycle and become too tight like skinny jeans. Please bring back the older version which was more comfortable and did not shrink in the was.
Over the years, I have noticed that Arcteryx quality has been going downhill. Please focus on good quality outdoor wear instead of the chasing the casual market.

The best long inseam pants

I've been wearing Arcteryx gear for over 10 years and i love them. These Gamma pants are the most comfortable pants I have ever worn. They are my go-to pants. Firstly, it is nigh on impossible to find decent quality pants that are longer than 34 inch inseam as I'm 6ft 4 ins. The material is just right for all seasons , if there is a cold snap of 2 or 3 degrees C then I can wear the rho base layer comfortably underneath. I find they don't overheat in the summer either. There is a useful hem adjustment for muddy/ snow conditions. The design and shape makes them a good fit and waist size can be adjusted easily with the belt which has a useful clip and loop attachment. The clip has an hook-like end so that the belt cannot undo inadvertantly. Very thoughtful design. I find they wash well and I'm sure they will last for years to come. They are smart enough to wear at lunchtime in the pub and look good and function well on the Fell. I am currently using them hiking and scrambling and everyday use. I only wish Arcteryx made more pairs of other gamma pants and more colours in the tall 38 inch waist size.

Arc'teryx has long made my favorite all-around climbing and hiking pants—they’ve always checked all the boxes. The face fabric has been incredibly durable, and over the past 10 years, I’ve purchased 8 or 9 pairs of Sigma and Gamma pants in various weights. They’ve performed flawlessly and held up impressively well over time.
But something seems to have changed recently. With the three pairs of Gamma pants I’ve purchased in the last year or so, I’ve run into a recurring issue: the stitching, glue, or tape in the waistband and crotch begins to fail quickly and then deteriorates rapidly. It usually starts with the internal belt twisting inside the waistband, followed by the stitching or bonding coming apart—leaving a spreading gap that exposes the belt and interior structure. This occurred on one pair of gamma purchased within the ladt year or so and I can feel the belt twisting and waistband separation beginning on a second.
What’s especially frustrating is that all of my much older pairs are still going strong, with no signs of this problem. I returned one of the newer pairs under warranty and received a credit, which I used toward the Serratus jacket instead. While I’d love to pick up two or three fresh pairs of pants, I’m now hesitant to spend that money on another round of Gamma pants given these quality concerns and recent reviews about quality control and sizing issues of the revised edition.
