Question 1

how does fit of Beta SV pant compare with fit of Gamma MX pant. Would waist on XL be similar in both pants?

Amelie, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for your question. The Beta SV Pant and Gamma MX Pant fit quite differently. The Beta SV is designed as a waterproof hardshell intended to accommodate layering, so it has a roomier overall fit through the seat and legs. The waist measurements are also noticeably different in size XL. The Beta SV Pant has a relaxed waist circumference of approximately 107.6 cm, while the Gamma MX Pant has a relaxed waist circumference of approximately 95.5 cm. As a result, the Beta SV will fit larger at the waist than the Gamma MX. If your Gamma MX fits you well at the waist, you may find the XL Beta SV quite generous and may wish to compare measurements carefully or consider sizing based on your intended layering system. The Beta SV's larger waist is intentional to allow comfortable use over base and insulating layers. We hope it helps!

Question 2

what is the Inseam lenght for size small-R BETA SV PANTS?

Dante, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi David, thank you for your question. The Beta SV Pants in size Small - Regular have an inseam of 82 cm (32.3"). We hope this helps you determine the best fit for your needs. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Question 3

Other than suspenders, what are the differences between the Beta SV and the Beta Pants?

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for your question. Other than the suspenders, the main difference is that the Beta SV Pant is built to be a tougher, more durable shell for harsher alpine and winter use. It uses a heavier-duty 100D GORE-TEX PRO fabric with a MICRO-GRID backer, while the Beta Pant uses a lighter 80D GORE-TEX ePE fabric with a GORE C-KNIT backer for improved comfort and packability. The Beta SV also includes several durability-oriented features, such as a ski boot-compatible hem opening and abrasion-resistant kick patches to protect against wear from skis, boots, and crampons. The Beta Pant does not include those features. If you want the lightest and most versatile pant option for hiking and general mountain use, the Beta Pant is the better choice. If your priority is durability and protection for more demanding alpine or winter conditions, the Beta SV Pant is the better option. We hope this helps!

Question 4

Without internal gaiters I wonder if it's really suitable for ski touring that implies skiing in snow powder.
Any feedback?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. Although the Beta SV Pant does not feature PowderCuffs, the hem is adjustable, which helps create a secure fit over different types of boots, reducing gaps where snow could enter. We hope this helps!

Question 5

Q: How does the fit compare to the sabre insulated pant 2024? I have the sabre insulated pant size medium regular. What size i have to buy for the beta sv pant?

Luna · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for your question! Both pants feature a Regular Fit that offers great freedom of movement and layers comfortably over a base layer. However, the sizing does differ slightly because the Beta SV is a GORE‑TEX shell pant, while the Sabre Insulated is a GORE‑TEX insulated pant. With 40gsm of synthetic insulation, the Sabre will fit approximately 2 cm smaller compared to the Beta SV. The Beta SV also includes a built‑in belt that allows you to adjust the waist as needed, so choosing the same size you wear in the Sabre Insulated would typically work well. If you’re deciding between sizes, you’re very welcome to order both and try them on at home. We offer free returns within 30 days of purchase or delivery, and you can find the details here: https://arcteryx.com/us/en/help/returns. We hope this helps!

Question 6

Can you describe how the hem of the pants keep snow out?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Question 7

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Luke, thanks for reaching out. The Beta SV Pant does not feature an integrated gaitor. We hope this helps!

Question 8

Also, does one of the thigh pockets have a tether for an avalanche beacon?

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Dugan, thank you for your question. The Beta SV Pants don’t have a tether or any attachment points in the thigh pockets for an avalanche beacon.

Question 9

These don’t appear to have an inner “kick patch” to help avoiding crampon bites / cuts from ski edges - is that correct? Why no additional reinforcement in that high abrasion area?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Dugan, thanks for reaching out. The Beta SV Pant features abrasion-resistant kick patches that prevent wear and tear from skis, boots, and crampons. We hope this helps!
