What is the waterproof rating and breathability

Hello, thank you for your interest for the Beta AR. The jacket has a waterproof rating of 28,000 mm, meaning it is designed to withstand heavy rain, wet snow, and demanding alpine conditions. RET (resistance to evaporative heat loss = breathability) value results can vary wildly depending on temperature, humidity, pressure, and many other factors. The value is not standardized from brand to brand, or test to test. Most testing doesn’t reflect real-world environment conditions so we decided to not use those values to rate the breathability of our items. In addition, the jacket features underarm pit zips, allowing you to quickly dump excess heat and further improve ventilation when you're working hard. We hope this helps!

Bonjour, bonne question! La veste Beta AR n’a pas de température de résistance précise, puisqu’il s’agit d’une coquille GORE‑TEX 3 couches sans isolation. Elle est conçue pour offrir une protection entièrement imperméable et coupe‑vent dans toutes les conditions, mais la chaleur dépend des couches que vous portez en dessous. En ajustant votre système de couches, couche primaire et couche intermédiaire, la Beta AR peut être utilisée autant lors de froid intense que par temps plus doux.

Hello Suave, the Beta AR Jacket can certainly be used for skiing, but it isn’t designed as a ski‑specific piece. Its primary intent is everyday winter wear and hiking, so it lacks some of the features skiers typically look for, such as a longer cut, a powder skirt, a ski‑focused pocket configuration, and more. For the best experience on the mountain, we recommend exploring our ski‑dedicated options like the Sabre Jacket. More ski‑specific styles will also be introduced as we roll into our Fall/Winter 2026 collection. Stay tuned!

Hi Steven, thank you for reaching out. The Beta AR Jacket features our Regular fit, which is cut comfortably throughout the chest and waist. In recent years, the Men's fit has been updated with a revised fit. The medium size remains unchanged. Smaller sizes are now tighter, and larger sizes are now looser. Here are the key measurements for the sizes M and L:

Does the Beta AR get quieter? I just purchased one and it is very noisy when moving around.

We understand how the sound of GORE-TEX can feel distracting at first—it’s not uncommon for people to notice that “crinkly” noise when they move around in a new jacket. The reason behind it is the way GORE-TEX is built: the fabric has a rigid construction and is bonded to other layers to create its famous waterproof barrier. That stiffness is what makes it so effective at keeping you dry and durable enough to last for years, but it can also make the material sound louder compared to softer fabrics. The good news is that this noise often lessens over time. As the jacket is worn and washed, the fabric softens a little, which can reduce the crinkle.

How do i wash this jacket, i have some stains from bugs etc… and i dont know how to get it off

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. To care for your Beta Jacket, we always recommend washing the jacket according to the care instructions below:

• Machine wash medium
• Tumble dry normal medium
• Do not bleach
• Do not dry clean
• Do not iron
• Wash separately
• Do not use fabric softener
• Close all fastenings before washing
• Double rinse
• Do not leave wet
• Remove immediately after washing

For more stubborn stains, you can gently spot clean the affected area with a technical detergent before washing. If you notice that water is no longer beading on the surface after cleaning, you can restore the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish. Once washed, remove the garment from the machine, shake off excess water, and close all zippers. Hang the damp garment and apply a spray on DWR treatment evenly to the face fabric, paying particular attention to high wear areas. Then tumble dry on medium heat for 40 to 50 minutes to help reactivate the treatment. We do not recommend using a wash-in DWR product.
