Quality has gone down

I bought my first Atom jacket a few years ago and loved it. I crushed on that jacket so hard. It almost felt like magic; the durability, the way it kept me warm, the way It looked. Bought a new on last year, cus I for a little burn hole in the other one, and it didn’t even make it a year before it was showing serious signed of wear and the inside stuffing was coming out of all the seems. Ordered a new one for this fall and just received it. After feeling it and trying it on I can’t get over how the material just feels so much cheaper than the soft and supple one my first jacket was made with. I hope this isn’t the start of a major decline from a brand I loved. If I’m pleasantly surprised by the new jacket I will modify my review.

Huge disappointment. The jacket was damaged on the back after the first trek with an ordinary lightweight backpack from Decathlon. The complaint was rejected, Arcteryx company did not offer any compensation for the poor quality product. I don't know what this jacket is supposed to be used for if it gets damaged on first use.

I have several atoms, both the older Atom Lt and the new model. I’ve found that the material is subject to damage from any shoulder straps that aren’t made of material that is very smooth. In my case a camera bag strap caused extensive abrasions. I now wear the jacket over the strap with no problems, however, this method would obviously not work with a backpack. Maybe there should be a warning with the jacket. Otherwise I love the atoms, which is why I have 5 jackets and 3 vests.🙃

Not as good as some cheap brand

Waste of money, I feel cold and water enter the fabric. It's not durable as expected thin insulation. True to size fits perfect but its not breathable.
