Question 2

is the fit the same as the regular gamma? The gamma SL mentions "slimmer fit" however both are listed as "regular fit" in the product description.

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. Both the Gamma SL Pant and the Gamma Pant feature our regular fit and have a similar fit between the two. For reference, in our base size 32-R, the Gamma SL Pant and the Gamma Pant both have a waist width of 86.0 cm. The thigh width of the Gamma SL Pants is 68.0 cm, while the thigh width of the Gamma Pant is 67.3 cm. To find the best fit, we recommend comparing your full body measurements to our size chart, as this will give you the most accurate guidance for a comfortable fit. If your measurements are between sizes, select a larger size for a looser fit or a smaller size for a tighter fit. We hope this helps!

Question 3

i am 5 feet 8 .7 inches ，61 kg，can you please advise what size shall i take ?thanks

Luna · Accepted Answer

Hi Jack, thank you for your question. Fit can vary by style and intended use, so we recommend using our size chart as the best starting point to compare your measurements with our garments. If you fall between sizes, we recommend going up for a more relaxed feel or down for a closer, more fitted fit. You are also welcome to place an order for two sizes to try at home, and return the size that does not fit. We offer free returns within 30 days of purchase and delivery, and you can start the process anytime through our returns page: https://arcteryx.com/us/en/help/returns. We hope this helps!

Question 4

Previous Gamma SL were straight legged with hems that fall over shoes perfectly, do these pants have the same cut and hem width or are they tapered/narrow at the bottom?

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for your question. The current Gamma SL Pant Men's (model: X000009525) has undergone very slight measurement changes compared to the previous version. While the overall fit remains the same, the leg opening is slightly narrower than before. For reference, the current base size (32–Regular) has a leg opening of 36.5 cm at the hem, whereas the previous version (last available in SS23) had a leg opening of 39.3cm.

Question 5

Last summer I bought a pair of the Gammas and of the Gamma ARs. What current model is similar to last season’s Gammas? I personally prefer them over the others due to the thickness of the material as they are lighter.

River · Accepted Answer

Hello there, the current model most similar to last season’s Gamma Pants is the Gamma SL Pant, which maintains the same streamlined design and mobility but uses a lighter fabric, perfect for those who prefer less bulk and more breathability. Unlike the Gamma AR, which is built for rugged alpine conditions with a thicker, more durable material, the SL version is ideal for hiking, travel, and everyday wear in warmer climates. Since you appreciated the thinner feel of the original Gammas, this updated version should hit the sweet spot for comfort and versatility without sacrificing performance.

Question 6

Has the thigh pocket position changed from previous versions? It used to be positioned on the front of the thigh which I didnt find comfortable for anything more than a simple too as it dug into your leg when stepping up.

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Tim, thank you for reaching out. The zippered thigh pocket remains the same as the previous version. This season’s update to the Gamma SL Pant includes a shift to FC0 materials for a lower environmental impact, a refined buckle system, and updated design lines to better align with the rest of the Gamma Collection. We hope this helps!

Question 7

Is the Gamma SL pants less wind resistant than the Gamma pants? Or is only the fabric thinner? Are some areas of the pants better protected from wind than others?

River · Accepted Answer

Hello Dave, great question! Both the Gamma SL Pant and the Gamma Pant are made with Fortius™ double-weave softshell fabric, but the key difference lies in the version used—the Gamma SL uses Fortius™ 1.0, which is lighter and more breathable, while the Gamma Pant uses Fortius™ 2.0, which is denser, more durable, and offers better wind resistance overall. While both provide some protection from wind, the Gamma Pant will perform better in windier conditions due to the heavier fabric. There aren’t specific zones with enhanced wind protection, it’s the fabric itself that makes the difference.

Bonjour Pardou, le pantalon peu épais Gamma est conçu pour offrir respirabilité et confort, ce qui le rend adapté à une utilisation sur plusieurs jours.
