This is not a cap!

I was needing a new cap for walking and I have loved everything I have bought from Arc'teryx until now! This is not a 'cap' but a very feeble head covering that would blow off in the slightest wind and offer no rain protection at all. It was returned!
Arc'teryx I would love you to produce a 'proper' cap - the other one you have on offer also offers no rain protection and is basically a visor.

Light, comfortable, adjustable

I love the norvan cap. It fits well and can be well adjusted using the back strap, which was super important for me as I like to fit my hair through the back and I could do so with ease with this cap. It is light, wicks sweat, and the brim doesn't get in the way of looking uphill on steep, long climbs on my runs.

Brim will flop into your face

Brim flops around into my face and obstructs my line of sight. It feels like the product wasn't actually tested and does not live up to Arcteryx's reputation for meticulous design and high performance. I say this as someone who owns a pair of Sabre ski pants and Fission mittens-- I am happy with these products. There are comparable "unstructured" caps from Satisfy and Ciele that are light, packable, and have brims that don't flop around like the Norvan. In the interests of being completely fair -- the Norvan fit my head well and it is light. That said, I still would not recommend it because the floppy brim is such a huge design issue.

Easily the best cap i have invested in. perfect styling, the shortness of the peak is just spot on. i'm not a fan of big peaks. its lightweight and breathable so can be worn all day with no discomfort or itchiness. tempted to bulk buy a stash of them for if arcteryx every decide to discontinue them as i truly believe i will never buy another cap style again.

I had the previous version norvan hat which was a remarkable hat specimen. So I bought 2 of these new versions for trail running, unfortunately the bill is so unstructured that it flaps around in a most annoying manner. It's ok if there is zero wind, but the slightest breeze makes the bill flap like a chicken wing. I run with the bill flipped up, which helps a little, but does nothing for sun protection. Otherwise it would be a good hat.

The Norman Cap is just magic. Extremely light, however it plays as a gladiator in terms of protection and versatility against adverse weather conditions. The construction of the cap is just perfect, details are simply at level PRO. No issues regarding wind, the cap is firm and safe around your head. I have appreciated the fact that it keeps you dry and feel always comfortable; love the fact that there are no internal constrictions. When you get it, you understand why is so expensive. Great piece. Got the yellow first, then I have ordered the black.

Great running cap when not wet or windy

First this seemed like the perfect running cap. It is lightweight, gives good protection from the sun, breaths good, dries fast, feels good and looks good. Then I noticed that the brim is not stiff enough. When it gets wet from rain or sweat, or the wind hits your face, it bends down. That is annoying and not very functional. So I hope Arc´teryx will make a stiffer brim for a trail running cap next time. I then prefer using the older Arc´teryx Calvus cap for longer runs, ultras and races.

Slick hat, very light. For reference, the bill is ~1/4" shorter than my Arc'teryx trucker cap. I have a large-ish head (~22 3/4") but ordered the S/M. It fits perfectly, with room to adjust both smaller and larger. I wouldn't recommend order the L/XL unless you have a truly enormous melon.

Better way to tighten but lid too floppy

This is my 2nd cap. I prefer the older design for the lid. This updated version’s lid is too floppy and the gusty winds bend it over my eyes. Will be using a different Nike cap for long runs or when I know it’s breezy. Better designed way to tighten the cap on this new version.

It's incredibly lightweight. I just wonder why there are not more colors available (white or light blue, red, green...). Since it's meant to protect from the sun, why not offer lighter shades that reflect the sun?
Also the size is a little off, on the bigger side. If you have a normal sized head get the S/M (L is huge).
