Question 1

Is it warm enough to be used alone in the fall.

Beth · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for your question. The Ossa Stowhood Jacket is designed primarily for sun protection and breathability rather than warmth. Its lightweight UPF 50+ fabric helps shield you from the sun while keeping you comfortable during activity, but it does not contain any insulation. Whether it is warm enough to wear on its own in the fall will depend on temperatures, weather conditions, and your activity level. For cooler conditions, many people choose to layer it with an insulating piece such as the Delta Jacket or Atom SL Hoody. If you're looking for a layer specifically designed to provide warmth, our Guest Services team would be happy to help recommend the best option for your needs through the Contact Us page on our website.

Question 2

Hi, how would this jacket compare to the Incendo Airshell Hoody and the Incendo Hybrid Hoody (particularly for air flow)? Would either of these jackets work well for hot and humid weather?

Nemo · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for your inquiry. The Ossa Stowhood offers great sun protection and light wind resistance, but it does run a bit warmer than the Incendo styles, so it may feel heavier in hot, humid conditions. If staying cool is your priority, the Incendo Airshell will give you the most airflow and the least insulation, making it the easiest option to wear in warm, sticky weather. The Incendo Hybrid is a close second — still very breathable, with added structure and mesh panels that help release heat. If you’re navigating truly humid environments, the Airshell will give you the most relief, with the Hybrid offering a nice balance of breathability and protection.

Question 3

When will you restock sea salt size small?

River, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello Chelsea, thank you for reaching out about the Ossa Stowhood Jacket in Sea Salt. We’re glad to hear it’s on your radar! While we don’t have an exact restock date for size small, our inventory does shift as we move through the season, and sizes can return online as orders are processed or shipments arrive. We recommend using the “Notify Me” feature on the product page: select the colour and size you’re interested in, enter your email, and you’ll receive an alert the moment it becomes available again.

Question 4

Is the material in this jacket the same material as the original Squamish hoody?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Greg, thanks for reaching out. The Ossa Stowhood Jacket is made with a 30D recycled nylon stretch ripstop, which is different from the Tyono™ 30D fabric used on the Squamish Hoody. We hope this helps!

Question 5

How well does this function as a windbreaker?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Ossa Stowhood Jacket functions more as an airshell than a traditional windbreaker. It does provide some wind resistance, but it is designed to prioritize breathability over full wind blocking. If you are looking for a lightweight jacket that offers stronger wind protection, we recommend looking into the Squamish Hoody. We hope this helps!
