Question 1

Is this pant designed for both hike and climb purpose? It's more slim fit than Gamma pant?
Will you launch short inseam in future?

Joseph, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello Jeff, thank you for your question about the Serratus Pant. The Serratus Pant was designed primarily as a technical climbing pant, but it can also be used for hiking. It has climb-specific articulated patterning that enhances mobility and comfort. In terms of fit, the Serratus Pant features a regular fit, similar to the Gamma Pant, rather than a slimmer fit. At this time, we do not have any information regarding a future short inseam option. We will be sure to pass along your interest to our design team, as feedback like this helps us better understand what our community is looking for. Hi Kurt, thanks for reaching out. The pockets on the Serratus Pant are sewn into the garment rather than glued or seam-taped. We hope this helps!

Question 4

Is the Serratus the most suitable successor of my old Gamma Rock pants?
I have several Gamma trousers, but my favourite is what at the time was called Gamma Rock Pant ( /- 2018). Despite it has many patches and repairs, it's still favourite for 3 seasons.

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the closest alternative to the Gamma Rock Pant in our current collection is the Serratus Pant. It is hybrid designed softshell pant intended for climbing. The fit may differ slightly, so to find the best fit, we recommend comparing your full body measurements to our size chart, as this will give you the most accurate guidance for a comfortable fit. We hope this helps!

Question 5

Hi, I noticed some Arc’teryx pants use numeric sizes (28, 30, 32), while others use letter sizes (XS–XL).
Could you briefly explain why different sizing systems are used?

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, great question! Arc’teryx uses different sizing systems depending on the style and intended use of the garment. Numeric sizing is typically used for pants with a button-fly construction, where a more precise fit is helpful, while letter sizing is often used for styles designed with a more adaptable fit. Both systems are carefully developed using the same fit standards and testing, so whichever format you see, the goal is consistent comfort and performance. We always recommend checking the size chart and fit notes on each product page to find the best fit for you.

Question 6

Good for winter

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Bernard, thanks for reaching out. The Serratus Pant is designed as a highly breathable, lightweight softshell climbing pant. With the right layering, it can be used year-round, including in winter conditions. That said, if you’re looking for a pair of pants that offers a bit more versatility for colder weather, we’d recommend considering the Gamma Pant. We hope this helps!

Question 7

Do the Serratus pants have similar weather resistance to Gamma's?

Sophie · Accepted Answer

Hi, thanks for your question! Yes, the Serratus Pants offer similar weather resistance to the Gamma Pants. Both are softshell pants designed for alpine, rock, and hiking activities. They are weather-resistant, breathable, durable, and lightweight, with the Serratus Pant treated with FC0 DWR to repel moisture. We hope this helps!
