Question 1

Can This bib be used for backcountry skiing and plastic boots?

River, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello there, the Alpha SV Bib Pant is built for severe‑weather alpine climbing and mountaineering, so the lower‑leg cuff is patterned to accommodate slimmer mountain boots rather than traditional ski boots. It will fit over lightweight mountaineering or approach‑style footwear, but it will most likely not fit cleanly over standard ski boots, especially wider touring or resort models. If you’re looking for a bib specifically designed for skiing, with cuffs and features meant to integrate with ski boots, we’d recommend the Sabre Bib, which offers the right volume, protection, and articulation for both backcountry and resort use.

Question 2

Does 100D face fabric improve DWR / water beading compared to 80D or less?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The denier of the face fabric primarily impacts durability and abrasion resistance rather than water beading. If two jackets use the same GORE-TEX membrane and the same DWR treatment, their water repellency will be comparable regardless of whether the face fabric is 100D or 80D. We hope this helps!

Question 3

Can you please provide the width of the leg opening at the ankle/bottom (when the leg is laid flat)? (For the redesign new in August 2025)

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The leg opening on the Alpha SV Bib Pant in our base size M is 47.0 cm. We hope this helps!

Question 4

Hallo Arcteryx Team,

Question 5

Are there integrated knee pads in this version?

MD1968 · Accepted Answer

I just received a pair direct from Arc’teryx Europe (Oct25) and they do have thin, removable knee pads. I don’t know if it’s the same in all markets.

Question 8

The description says there are full-length zippers, but the photos do not show this. Which is correct?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Alpha SV Bib does not feature full-length side zippers. It does feature zippers on the side that make on-and-off easy, allows drop seat functionality, and has three sliders for ventilation options. We hope this helps!

Question 9

In the features it states "Ultra durable 100D Cordura® PowderCuffs™ fit over boots to help seal out snow" Can that be confirmed? the same question was asked 11months ago with a response of "no" so just wanna clarify

River · Accepted Answer

Hello Reido, thank you for pointing that out. You're correct, the Alpha SV Pant does not feature Cordura® PowderCuffs™. We appreciate your attention to detail, and I wanted to let you know that our team is already working on correcting the information. For clarification, the Alpha SV Pant includes a zippered hem gusset designed to accommodate different boot volumes.
