Great climbing and ski layer

The gamma hoody is a great softshell that you can wear on climbs and backcountry skiing. I also wear it as a jacket to work! It's comfortable and stretchy.

I love this for well.. For everything. running, climbing, cycling! Its a light layer yet has saved my butt when the wind comes. or if its really hot- ill just have this wind layer on with a sports braw. its the best thing ever people

Durable and protective - climber approved!

I've been on the hunt for a tougher midlayer for climbing, and I've finally found it in this jacket. It provides enough insulation for a light layer underneath and offers excellent protection against sharp rock, such as the terrain at Joshua Tree. I've really put it to the test on my recent trips and am impressed with its durability.
The only downside for me is the fit—it runs quite long and a bit baggy in the shoulders. I've found that the non-hoody version is more cropped and fitted, which I prefer for climbing and mobility.

Weird fit

This jacket fits weird. I own around 50 Arcteryx pieces and typically wear an XS for tops and they usually fit perfectly or slightly oversized (the Beta IS for example). This jacket fits me perfectly in the body but the shoulders and arms are tight. I don’t have abnormally large shoulders or arms and comparing it to the fit of all my other pieces— they’re just small.
I’ll still wear this but since I can’t really wear layers underneath without the sleeves getting super tight it’s not good for as much as I’d hoped it’d be good for.
I would size up but the body is already roomy in the XS and I think the S would be huge. Oh well…

Un peu grand mais ça va…

J’ai commandé par Internet… La livraison (UPS)a mis plus de 10 jours. La veste semble d’excellente qualité. J’habille du 10 ans normalement et j’ai pris large en comparant avec les mesures suggérées. C’est un peu grand, notamment aux manches ,mais en médium, ce serait peut-être trop étroit au buste.

Revised fit doesn't fit

I had been eyeing the Gamma LT Hoody for months, as I'd purchased the Gamma MX Hoody early last year. However, when I was ready to purchase it, there was no stock as I guess they were already working on a redesign. The revised version unfortunately seems to have changed the fit from a regular fit to a fitted fit. I ordered both a large and extra large size, as my other Arc'teryx jackets are size large, but they are all regular fit, and I wasn't sure how the fitted fit would impact the size. It turns out the large was too tight around the hips and the stomach area, making it difficult to zip up and bulging around the stomach but loose around the bust as I am pear shaped. When I tried the extra large, although it zipped up easily enough, it was all around too large everywhere. I wish they realized that "fitted" fit doesn't work for everyone, especially those of us who don't fit the ideal body shape. I guess I'll be returning both.

Will there be colors in 2023?

Hi! I love my old Gamma Lt and would like to get a new one. But I only want to use bright colors in outdoor activities, it is just more fun and a safety issue. I think there have been some years since I last saw a bright color. Will there be any in 2023 so I can replace my old jacket (from 2015) :)

Exactly! I don't know what is going on, but lately, all brands have ugly, dark colors, mostly black, brown, beige. I don't understand their logic because, besides being ugly, it is safer to wear bright colors when hiking or skiing in the mountains/forests.
