Beta AR Jacket Women's

J’ai acheté ce manteau récemment et je l’ai utilisé à plusieurs reprises dans différentes conditions et activités. Je trouve qu’il est pratique et coupe bien le vent. De plus, les ouvertures sur les côtés permettent de bien aérer lors des randonnées plus intenses. La seule chose qui m’a un peu dérangé au début, c’est que le tissu est un peu rigide. Malgré cela, je le recommande à toutes les personnes qui veulent un manteau versatile.

I got this to replace an old arcteryx shell whose waterproofing/hemming finally gave up (arcteryx customer service gave me such great service and offered a gift card to replace it). I upgraded from the alpha (or it’s predecessor), and I’m glad I did. The material feels so much nicer. It feels a little bulky—I thought it might look like I was wearing my husband’s coat—but it looks trimmer than it feels. I purchased the Enigma color which it a really lovely dark green.

I have bought this jacket about a month ago after waiting for the Zeta AR to come back in stock (spoiler alert, it didn't). I really like the length as it covers my bum and it has held up in the light rain it has experienced so far. I personally like earth tones and this is a lovely shade of dark green with a hint of teal. I was torn between a small but couldn't easily wear a sweater with it and a medium which is a tad on the big side (but I really needed it for the extra room in the bust). As a whole I'm very pleased with my purchase.

This was my first Arc'teryx purchase, and I'm glad I decided to buy it. I have worn it skiing and hiking, and it was able to handle the wet winter conditions in Northern NY. I bought a size up (L) so I could layer underneath. The jacket is long enough to cover layers, but not get in the way. I anticipate this being my go-to jacket for wet weather in all season and for all activities.

I have spent several years purchasing different hard shells in search of one that didn't leave me cold and clammy on the inside. I finally decided to throw down the money to try the Beta AR. And it was worth EVERY CENT. I have worn it in rain, snow, dry conditions but 45 mph winds, and this jacket has performed beautifully! It is absolutely bomb proof and unbelievably breathable. So impressed! And as an extra bonus, it not only performs better than I expected, but the fit is outstanding. Plenty of room for layers underneath but the cut doesn't make you look like a sack of potatoes when you're bundled up. So much love for this jacket!

Purchased the green because the grandma lipstick pink and the fire engine red were vomit worthy. Turns out the green is more of a decomposing pine-bow color suited more for a lumberjack than a ladies coat. Let’s get with it Arcteryx and get some colors that make a girl look good while getting it done in the outdoors! Hopefully I can sell mine to a forester, then wait for something better to come along.

Everything is perfect. The color Momentum looks weird on the website but it's beautiful in real life. But the sleeves are too long!

Love everything about this jacket except when it is zipped up to the top - the chin guard comes up so high on my face that it is extremely uncomfortable - it rubs on the chin because the jacket is so stiff around that area due to the heavy duty zip and the stiffened fabric around the chin area. Maybe ok if you wear a balaclava over your face or have fabric that can be covering your chin to stop the friction....but it can be raining in warm humid weather too and I won't be wearing a layer over my chin for those days. I am returning it as it was too annoying and stiff for me. I am Petite at 5 ft and 105 lbs, but I think this issue would still hold true for people taller than me.

I bought this jacket a year ago and used it <10 times during the 2019-2020 season for resort skiing. The jacket is amazing and kept me dry amidst a rain/snow storm in Zermatt. However, I was deeply disappointed to find that there were small tears in my jacket on the hood, and on the body, after just one season of what I would hardly call heavy use. I would expect much more from a $600 3L Goretex jacket.

I bought this coat a couple years ago and have put it through the ringer. I love hiking in the Utah mountains and this is one of my go to coats. Typically when winter hiking I will put a base layer on (for warmth) and this coat to protect me from the elements. Perfect balance so I don’t feel like am a walking marshmallow. This is the perfect windbreaker as it has pit zips so I can dump heat with out being exposed to the wind. The hood features are amazing and I love being able to customize my hood to the weather. Can’t recommend enough.

I've taken this jacket out in some horrible conditions and it always keeps me dry. It also breathes well enough to travel uphill. My only problem is that I notice that it stains easily. I have marks from sunscreen around the collar and other scuffs from use that will not come off.

I bought this jacket a couple of months ago to replace an older model Beta AR. The new version is lovely, with a different material, stronger zippers and a few new well thought out details. The jacket runs bigger than older models and is a lot wider and longer through the arms.

I've had an Alpha SV for decades and used it for every hiking or canoeing trip. It never fails but is becoming a little old. I wanted something equally sturdy but a little longer, a little less bulletproof, not sized for a helmet and a little more appropriate for walking instead of climbing mountains. I bought the Beta AR at your outlet site and it seems to fit the bill beautifully.

You know how you can buy expensive for your spouse but not for yourself? That's what we have here. Got this for my wife; while I slog along in a $100 Northface, clammy and wet, she's dry and comfortable in any condition. At 5'2 with broad shoulders and narrow waist, she finds the small a perfect fit, allowing her to layer puffy coat or fleece undernearth without issue. The only real downside is that it's not very compressible. We day-hike only, but with a lot of gear (safety first!), and the small-to-medium packs we tend to carry mean this takes up a lot of available space. This means it comes with us when rain is likely, or on any winter hike/snowshoe, but isn't there to deal with sudden squalls unless we strap it to the outside. It's a terrific coat, I'm not sorry I bought it (even at full price), but I don't think I'll be able to buy one for myself.

I’ve had my Beta AR for several years now and it has held up so well to all my rainy Southeast Alaskan adventures. I use it year round for skiing, hiking, fishing... it hasn’t let me down

I bought this jacket a few months ago and have used it a handful of times this fall. It’s held up great to the rain. I really like the fit, as I am shorter, so it hits me in a great spot without being too long. I usually wear a small in tops and that’s what I purchased. It leaves lots of room to layer. I wear my synthetic jacket under it and I’m toasty warm. It even leaves room for a vest. I intend to wear it skiing all winter. The only drawback for me is, having a little wider hips, it’s very fitted around my hips. But I couldn’t have sized up, or I would have had way too much room in the arms and chest. My only little complaint, is that it is quite loud. But I’d rather have a bit of crinkling and be warm and dry; than quiet and cold! I’m really loving it so far!

I love this jacket so much that I stripped the goretex layer in under 2 years of heavy use. I highly recommend washing and proofing often if you use it regularly. I received a second one under warranty for this issue. Love the higher pockets for use with a harness, the helmet-compatible hood, and the pit zips. If I had two small nitpicks it would be the back length and the tightness in the shoulders. My second beta AR has the revised slightly longer back, but I find that I would prefer an even longer back, especially for biking and when I'm backpacking or hiking in the rain. The small fits me well everywhere except sometimes tight in the shoulders. I like the fitted jackets, so it doesn't bother me that much and I can still layer.

Excellent Jacket: This is my second one as i like the New Labyrinth color. Very breathable, packable with out adding excessive extra weight to your backpack. Used it on my hike to the Scotland highlands.. Came up super handy and i remained dry during humid moisture and rainy days in Scotland. It was a great companion and as usual the Arc'teryx quality and style stood out. Thanks Arc'teryx for keeping me dry in such wet conditions.

Great overall shell jacket. I’m in love with the colour too!

I have owned a previous generation of this coat - I wanted a larger size to layer clothes underneath. I wondered if they made the outer sleeve pocket larger to accommodate the larger cell phones of today - answer: They eliminated it. The other big knock on this is they did away with the elastic cuffs, so you have to adjust them every time you put the jacket on and when you take it off - really annoying. I searched the other jackets from ArcTeryx and none have this feature - so a cost savings for them but a real bummer for the user. They moved the two main side pockets down a bit, which works great for me - but might be a problem for backpack wearers. The inside pocket remains the same - and I use this for my phone. It's also lighter then previous generations - which is def. a plus. Finally they changed the collar area that protects your neck - it's higher and provides better protection against wind and rain, but if you don't need to be "Buttoned Up" it's kind of annoying - so great in horrible weather, a bit much when it's not so bad out. As others notated the waterproof of this jacket does not last - you have to constantly re-coat with some sort of waterproof/repellence product. This is true with all Gore-Tex out there - The fit is excellent - I went a size up to layer winter clothing but even without the extra layers it is not bulky - vents well (pit zips) and the many adjustments on the hood are great.

This is an awesome jacket..but the labrynth colour is not as my computer shows. Was hoping for a dark teal but its distinctly green in person.
