The most versatile jacket I own!

I've had the Atom Hoody since 2018, and continue to be impressed by its durability, and level of versatility. It works great as a warm layer for alpine trips and winter bouldering, coaching in a chilly climbing gym, or just to wear for casual outings. Despite getting wet many times, it has maintained its insulating capability, and has survived a lot of outdoor use without sustaining holes. It's compact and good for layering, but also warm enough to be a stand alone jacket in many contexts. In addition to all of this, it looks good! I love that it tapers in at the waist, and leaves room for my shoulders (it doesn't feel like I could hulk-rip the back, like some women's jackets tend to feel). If you're looking for a flattering, long-lasting, and multiuse insulated jacket, this is the one.

Great for Everything!

I've been using this hoody for over a year now and am in love! I primarily use it as an outer shell for daily activities and it's everything I wanted--useful pockets, has a hood, is comfortable, and flattering. It's my primary outer layer for climbing and mid-layer for backcountry skiing. This jacket helps me thermoregulate better than any layer I've owned so far and is the only mid-layer I'll continue to buy. The only improvement I'd hope for is less restrictive shoulder/armpit areas, but the jacket does stretch well and I have broader shoulders than the average female, but I size up for this reason.

Most lightweight yet durable piece of gear I have

I got this so that I could have a nice lightweight outer layer for climbing. It gets into contact with a lot of rocks and hasn't ripped. It's warm for the weight too, and washes easily in a washing machine.

The fit is for more statuesque women

I was enthralled by the new Yukon color of the classic atom jacket and purchased with hopes it might replace my aging atom jacket. Unfortunately the fit is much changed and the jacket no longer fits my shorter torso. I'm not looking for this jacket to go past my bum, as I have proper coats designed for that. I recognize there are taller gals out there than I but I really miss being able to wear Arcteryx. I ended up returning the jacket unfortunately.

Hard to beat, amazing jacket

Both my wife and I are on our second Atom jackets, the first ones are still going after more than 10years, but showing their age, so we decided it was time to get new ones. We wear them almost daily for 6months of the year and in almost all scenarios outside of torrential downpours.

I love everything about this jacket! I wear it for windier runs or walks, for a mid layer in colder conditions, and sometimes just for style (it’s just beautiful!). Arcteryx sizing has changed over the years so I recommend trying it on.

What am I missing (other than quality)?

I don't understand the positive reviews for this jacket. I find it to have little warmth and it feels like a cheap jacket from an outlet store. The insulation is flimsy and the zippers are ok but don't feel nearly as sturdy as competitors (many who also have two-way zippers). I don't know what I'm missing--I really have tried and wanted to love this jacket but it'll just take up room in my closet. And it's not about the money--I'm happy to spend on a great jacket, it's about quality.
I'm in marketing and know all of the Q&A you see in places about "why does Arc'teryx cost so much" and other things that talk about the amazingness of Arc'teryx are extremely likely to have been planted by the brand's communications and digital teams, but maybe it's me. I'm a quality snob and this is just a huge miss in my book.

Absolutely love this jacket, I've bought it multiple times in various different colors because I wear it all the time! I like to size up to layer it over a sweater or sweatshirt, and size down to wear it as a base layer while hiking in the cold and snowboarding. Go to piece for any adventure

I bought this hoody last year and managed to try it through all seasons - and I can't love it more. I was wearing as a mid layer on the slopes or as a top layer for cross-country skiing. During really cold days I put it on for my winter runs. It kept me nicely warm. When I sweat it through it still kept the warmth in and got back dry really fast.
During my summer mountain treks I'm taking it as a go-to layer in case temperatures go down. It is a great companion for spring and fall walks. It is light, breathable and doesn't take much space in my backpack.
It's an all year round companion on my adventures.

I have had several Atom Hoody jackets. I just got a new one in Expanse. I so appreciate the flattering and feminine cut of these jackets, which I wear pretty much daily instead of sweaters. Also relatively straightforward to take care of. I like the new stretch panel on the side way better than the old which used to pill.

My most reached for jacket

This hoody is one of my most versatile pieces. It is incredibly comfortable and provides a good amount of warmth for fall and early winter weather. I appreciate the attention to detail Arc'teryx has, as the jacket has many features that improve the product, such as a drawstring around the waist and the fabric panelling. I bought my first Atom in 2019 and just bought another one in 2023 as I know I will get use out of both of them and that they will last for years to come.

Great Versatile Hoody

Purchased this hoody last December in yellow. I love this hoody for the comfort, light weight and zippered pockets. I have received so many compliments when I wear this hoody. I’m 5’2” 110lbs and xsmall fits perfectly.

Amazing fit and comfort!

This is my third atom hoody! All have held up amazing I just keep getting new colors. They are the perfect for cold hikes or chilly evenings out on the town.
