Highly recommended for its intended use

The Solano sells on its good looks -- and that's a compliment.
It's obviously not intended for hard workouts but I'd be pleased to wear it around town or to social events.
The highish collar, the inside pocket and the overall light weight are strong points.
I'd like to see some kind of venting in the sleeves or arm pit. And the sleeve cutffs aren't strong enough if the longish sleeves prove too long for you.
Not perfect, but highly recommended for its intended use.

Great with suggestions

Great jacket for lighter days. Only complaint is sleeves are too long so a trip to alterations was necessary. The stretchy sleeve for such a high quality jacket really need to be re-thought. This is the 4th jacket I have bought over years and would have preferred sleeves that could be tightened around wrist!

New Sizing Not to My Liking

Jacket is lightweight but provides great wind protection. The color and style is appealing. My only issue is the new sizing. I am 6 ft tall and 205 lbs. I typically wear XL but looking at the revised size chart I fell right in between a large and XL so I purchased both to check the fit. The large is a little too tight in the chest and body limiting what I could wear underneath but the XL is a little baggy in the back when wearing only a t-shirt. I think the original XL sizing would have been a perfect fit as is my other Arcteryx gear. I kept the XL for the extra room when needed.

Perhaps my favorite Arc'teryx jacket

The Solano might be my favorite Arc’teryx jacket. Over time, I have purchased three of them - in Boxcar, Yukon and Black Sapphire. Why? Because the Solano is more than just a basic windbreaker. The NYC tri-state region sees a lot of changeable weather, especially outside of summer. So a really comfortable windproof jacket that also capably handles a bit of light rain - and looks great while doing so - earns the Solano jacket more than its fair share of wear. Although spring and autumn are when the Solano is most consistently useful, there are scattered winter days here that are mild enough to wear it over something like a long sleeve merino base layer paired with an Atom vest. Simply put, the Solano's easy versatility and stylish looks are why I have three of these.

Perfect light jacket!

Amazing jacket! Perfect for the cloudy morning commutes and brisk evening walks! Haven't taken it on proper hikes yet but it's been my go-to for everything from casual downtown strolls to lunchtime bike rides!

Sharp looks and great material.

As with this brand, you pay for really great stuff. Currently using it on a small ship cruise in the Greek isles. It is a great windbreaker and it looks good. It should last a long time and justify the investment. It looks great, too!

Good buy

I needed a windbreaker because I typically layer if necessary. This works because it has a great waist drawstring. I ordered the large, I'm 6 ft 175 lb 34 waist. I use it for golf. It has excellent build qualities and drapes well. I will probably gift one to my son.
