Over-compression, dirt, sweat, and grime can affect the insulation performance of your garment. Regular wash and care of your garment, as well as giving it space to hang, will help maintain performance and extend its lifespan.
How to wash synthetic insulation

1. Prepare your washing machine
Run an empty rinse cycle in your washing machine to remove any residue.Â

2. Prepare your gear
Close the main and pit zippers. Open pocket zippers. Release tension on all elastic drawcords. Loosen and secure the cuff Velcro®.Â

3. Wash
Check the care label on the jacket for exact guidelines. Put your garment in the machine and add Arc’teryx Nu Technical Detergent as indicted on the bottle. Wash at temperature directed on the care label.

4. Rinse
Use a second rinse cycle to remove any residual soap.

5. Dry
Refer to the care tag for specific drying guidelines. Tumble dry your garment on low heat setting to help restore the loft. Do not overheat as there is risk of damage to some synthetic fabrics and materials.

6. Reapply DWR if needed
For synthetic-insulated garments with GORE-TEX®, test your clean garment with a light spray to see if water beads off the surface. If water is not beading off your product, apply DWR treatment.
Recommended detergent
Arc’teryx technical outerwear are high-tech materials; standard detergents contain additives such as softeners and brighteners that are deposited during washing that may negatively affect performance. Always use a technical detergent to care for technical outerwear. We recommend Arc’teryx Nu Technical Detergent.
