Question 1

Can you wear it under -30 degree?

Rick, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello there, thank you for your question. The Patera Parka is designed to provide warmth and weather protection in winter conditions, combining goose down insulation, GORE-TEX weather protection, and additional synthetic insulation in moisture-prone areas. However, we do not rate our garments for specific temperatures, as comfort can vary significantly depending on factors such as activity level, weather conditions, layering, and individual preferences. For this reason, we cannot confirm suitability for temperatures as low as -30°C. We recommend referring to our layering guide for tips on staying comfortable in cold conditions: https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/shop/layering-guide/. We hope this helps.

Question 2

Question 4

What is the temperature rating on this coat?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Joneth, thanks for reaching out. The Patera Parka is insulated with 750 fill down for premium warmth, plus it strategically uses synthetic insulation in moisture-heavy areas. It's designed to keep you warm and dry in cold and wet winter conditions. That said, we do not rate our garments for temperature as there are too many factors that influence this result from person to person, and we recommend referring to our layering guide for more tips on staying warm: https://arcteryx.com/us/en/shop/layering-guide/

Question 5

Bonjour,
Le nouveau matériel semble plus rigide que les précédentes Parka Patera.
Est-ce que c’est le cas ?
Si oui, est-ce que ce nouveau matériel s’assouplit ou il est prévu qu’il reste ainsi ?
Merci.

River, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Question 6

What is the length on size xs vs xxs. I am only 5 ft tall and wondering if it will be too long for me

Luna · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for your question and for checking out the Patera Parka. The center back length is 97.2 cm for size XS, and 96.0 cm for size XXS. The parka also features a two-way front zipper, so you can open the bottom when zipped up to allow more freedom of movement while walking, without sacrificing coverage from snow, wind, rain, or the cold. If you’re unsure about the length, we offer free returns, so you’re welcome to order both sizes and keep the one that fits best. You can find the details here: https://arcteryx.com/us/en/help/returns. We hope this helps!

Question 8

Will this parka keep me warm in -20 degree Fahrenheit?

Luna · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for your question and for checking out the Patera Parka! While we don’t assign specific temperature ratings, since warmth can vary by individuals, the Patera Parka is designed for everyday use in the colder months. It features down insulation with synthetic fill in moisture-prone areas for reliable warmth. The parka’s longer length also provides excellent wind protection during harsh winter conditions. For extra tips on staying warm in extreme cold, check out our layering guide: https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/shop/layering-guide/. We hope this helps!

Question 9

Is this an updated version of the Durant coat?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Jenn, thanks for reaching out. The closest alternative to the Durant Coat is the Solano Insulated Hoody, as both use Coreloft synthetic insulation. If you are looking for something with a more comparable cut to the Durant Coat, the Patera Parka is the closest match, though it features 750 fill European grey goose down instead of synthetic insulation. We hope this helps!

Question 10

Are the pockets lined (ie: fleece, etc)?

Luna · Accepted Answer

Hi there! Thank you for your question. The Patera Parka’s hand pockets are partially lined with fleece, on the inner face of the side furthest from the body, while the side closer to the body is unlined. The internal pocket does not have any lining. We hope this helps.
