Best fitting pants I've ever worn!

I bought two pairs of these years ago and have been extremely happy with every bit of them. I am 6'5" tall with a very long inseam. finding active hiking/climbing pants is nearly impossible. I ordered the 32 waist pant in their tall option and found it was perfect!
Besides the great fit, these pants are very durable and well featured. I love the integrated webbing belt that lies flat and is not noticeable under my hip belt or climbing harness. The zipper pockets are low profile too and keep everything where you put it. The fabric on these pants has stood up to many many days in the field. Unlike other softshell pants I have tried, this fabric still looks and feels new after years of use.
I keep waiting for the pants to wear out to purchase another couple pairs, but I'm still on my original set.

Another great pair of trousers, not as light weight as my last pair of Gamma’s. Super comfy for wearing all day and surprisingly durable.
Super fast drying and the usual great build quality. Not the most generous of fitting so if you are in between go up.

I just used these in Argentina and had so much frustration over the lack of a back pocket. I don't understand why they would get rid of them... serioulsy... how much weight do you think you're saving with that? If I'm that concerned with saving 1/4 of an ounce there are plenty of other ways to shave weight.

Had these for a few years. Great for what they are- lightweight pants, not like Gamma MX which are bomb-proof. The L pocket delaminated so I sent them back to Arc'teryx. The repair was phenomenal - I couldn't tell there had ever been a problem. Well done Arc'teryx!

Purchased after good experience with Gamma Quick Dry. A slightly thicker material that is more resistant to rough terrain. A very good choice for colder weather conditions. Be careful with the length of the pants, R is a little longer than R in Quick Dry.

Gamma Pants, not grandpa pants

"You will never get that blood out". I wasn't so sure, but after five days in the San Juans, I figured that the blood stain was set, and I would have to accept the stain as a conversation starter - no more wearing them out with my wife as my Cookie-Monster-Blue Grandpa Pants. When I got home, I found that one normal wash and the blood stain had come out. My buddy owes me twenty-five cents. A bet is a bet. And there was NO laundry sorcery needed. Not only that, but these pants really held up. I should also mention they stayed up - I really like the built-in belt. When we were off trail, we were post-holing in on snow over blowdown and deadfall any step could leave me crotch-deep; every time my leg went through, I wondered if I had been impaled. It was cold enough not to feel it. That is how I got the blood stain - post-holing and being stabbed by a downed tree beneath the snow. Oddly enough, my skin was impaled and bloody, but the pants were not. These pants stretch and stay tough. They breathe and repel water and wind. I highly recommend these pants. Best piece of new gear on the trip for me, and this was the "new gear" trip. No bells and whistles, just exceeding expectations in a quiet way.

Love these pants

I bought these pants two months ago for mainly hiking and some occasional bouldering. Love how breathable and light these are. The main selling point of these pants was that they offered a short inseam length - I'm not the tallest person at 5'5" and having the option of a shorter inseam for pants is a big plus for me.

The perfect LW pant!

I’ve had these pants for a couple months, they’ve climbed long multpitch routes, soaked in the rain and dried remarkably quick, crossed glaciers, stalked black tail deer, and simply been put to the outdoor test. Love them! No rips, no tearing, zippers in tact. Ankle cinch works great for various activities as well. Thank you for the great product!

Lightweight but tough!

Great pant for hiking in 40-50 degree weather, or wearing over long underwear in slightly colder temps. Very wind-resistant and handles water well despite being lightweight and doesn't overheat even on humid days. A shoulder-season staple for sure!

I purchased these pants for casual hiking and travel. I absolutely love them. They fit and look cool. (ABC always be cool)
The only thing I don’t like is the sizing. I am 5’10 and 185lbs. I almost always wear a 32x32 pant size. So naturally I purchased the medium regulars. They were extremely too long so I sent them in for a medium short and they fit much better length wise.

I bought these in the 34 waist Small, even tho my inseam is 83, the small fits much nicer. I used these recently to go up snowdon and i was very impressed by the way the rain could evaporate so easily and how breathable they were. Washing is very simple and can easily be cleaned from any marks. Highly recommend these pants!

Love the pant, miss the old sizing

I bought and fell in love with my first Gamma LTs before they were revised. They came in S-M-L-XL. Now they are sized by number and the largest size offered is a size 38.
I wear my old pairs everyday at the office and am really pleased with the fit, the quality, the look and the built-in belt. I never purchased pants at this price point before, but I immediately saw the value in them.
I was heartbroken to see that the new sizing on these stopped at a 38. I can often wear 38 in many brands, and while these still fit me fine around the waist, they are far less roomy through the thighs. Although snug, I could probably get away with wearing them still, if it weren't for the fact that the pockets pucker when open.
I hope Arc'teryx reconsiders the sizing in the future and adds a size 40 option

Excellent lightweight pant

This is my go to pant for summer alpine and rock climbing. The tall sizes are true tall with good ankle coverage. I'm glad the fit has been changed back (from sizing 4-5 years ago) to a more relaxed cuff and now fits better over the ankles too. Love this pant and if the sizing stays the same will contain to buy more pairs year after year.

I bought this pair to hike in the summer and i think i’ve made the right choice. Extremely breathable and light even in hot weather. As always Arc’teryx doesn’t disappoint. I wouldn’t suggest this specific pair of pants in the winter if you are a cold sensitive person; for that purpose Gamma Ar is great.

I bought these for a backpacking trip at Grand Canyon. Had to take them off in favor of shorts almost immediately because I was too hot. I do not recommend these pants for hot weather hikes where breathability is critical.

I bought the men's pant because the women's gamma lightweight pant is too short in the regular and too long in the women's long. Why is there such a jump from 29 inches to 34 inches inseam in the women's pant??? That is 5 inches! In a perfect world the women's regular inseam would be 31 inches. I am a fan of both Patagonia and Arcteryx. Patagonia women's regular inseam is 31 inches.

Great disappointment - changed fit and material

The Gamma SL has been changed to the Gamma Lightweight. I loved the Gamma SL and just wanted a second pair in a different color. The new style is different: not as slim and articulated a fit, it is more plain in its contour. In addition, the material is slightly changed, not as supple, a little more coarse. There no longer are any pull ties at the bottom to snug against one's boots. So disappointed. Bring the real Gamma SL back please!

Out of this world pants
