Question 1

I currently ski in an Arc'teryx Cassiar jacket, size Large, and am considering the Ski Guide Jacket. Several reviews mention it fits large. For someone happy with the fit of a Large Cassiar, would you recommend a Large or Medium Ski Guide? Thanks!

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The sizing between the previous Cassiar Jacket and the current Ski Guide Jacket is different. The Cassiar Jacket features our Fitted fit, while the Ski Guide Jacket features our Regular fit, which provides more room for layering. For reference, the Cassiar Jacket in size L has a chest width of 123.0 cm, while the Ski Guide Jacket in size M has a chest width of 124.0 cm. Based on those measurements, a size M Ski Guide Jacket would provide a fit closer to your size L Cassiar Jacket. That said, to find the best fit, we recommend comparing your full body measurements to our size chart, as this will give you the most accurate guidance for a comfortable fit. If your measurements are between sizes, select a larger size for a looser fit or a smaller size for a tighter fit. We hope this helps!

Question 2

Have you considered an orange/Blaze colorway? Our SAR teams color is orange so that would be an instant buy.

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for reaching out and sharing this suggestion. We don’t have plans at this time to introduce an orange/blaze colourway, and nothing is scheduled in the near term. That said, feedback like this is valuable to us, and we have passed it along to our team for future consideration for colourway offerings. Thank you for taking the time to share your input!

Question 3

I have a current model Rush and find the hood a bit tight over my size Large Smith helmet. Im curious if this Pro hood is any roomier than the current Rush in the same size.

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Tom, thanks for reaching out. The Ski Guide Jacket in size L has a hood opening of 71.6 cm, while the Rush Jacket has a hood opening of 72.1 cm. This difference between the two is minimal, and if the hood on your current Rush already feels snug over your helmet, the hood on the Ski Guide Jacket will feel comparable. We hope this helps!

Question 4

Why did you switch to the stormhood for this? A drophood is so useful when on duty where we spend so much of our time turning our heads and looking sideways and uphill.

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Ski Guide Jacket has been updated to include the helmet-compatible StormHood™, which offers full coverage without impacting visibility. That said, we understand the preference for a DropHood™, and we’ll be sure to share this feedback with our team for future consideration. We hope this helps!

Question 5

How does this jacket compare to the Alpha SV, in both sizing and cut?

Sophie · Accepted Answer

Hi Isaac, thanks for your question! Both the Ski Guide Jacket and the Alpha SV feature a regular fit, designed to allow freedom of movement and room for layering. In terms of sizing, they’re quite similar. For reference, in a men's size Medium:

- Ski Guide Jacket: Chest 124 cm, Waist 115 cm, Hem 118 cm
- Alpha SV Jacket: Chest 123 cm, Waist 115 cm, Hem 115.5 cm

We hope this helps! If you have any other questions about fit or sizing, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to help. https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/help/contact

Question 6

Does the the yellow version of the guide shell also have the orange hood? Could the orange hood please be optional?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. All colorways of the Ski Guide Jacket feature a high-vis orange panel on the hood, including the Viper Yellow colour. This design detail helps ensure guides are easily identifiable from a distance, from the ground or air. That said, we appreciate your feedback, and we’ll be sure to share it with our design team for future consideration. We hope this helps!

Question 7

I too have inquired about why this SKI jacket does not have a powder skirt, removeable or otherwise. It seems others are as well... it has been several years without any inclusion of our 'pro' feedback. I will buy this the second you guys incorporate it.

Hunin · Accepted Answer

Ski Guides tend to wear harnesses in the course of their work. Powder skirts get very uncomfortable when harnesses are applied over top. This is the reason. The secondary reason is most pros and committed skiers prefer bibs as powder skirts rarely accomplish their stated purpose.

Question 8

How come this jacket doesn't have a removeable snow skirt? This jacket would be absolutely perfect with it, and seems a strange thing to omit from a ski specific jacket. It's a real shame that this feature continues to be omitted despite demand for it.

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Ski Guide Jacket does not feature a removable snow skirt, though we can certainly understand how that feature could add value. We appreciate you sharing this feedback and will be sure to pass it along to our product team for consideration in future designs. We hope this helps!
