Question 1

River, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Question 2

Solo secar en secadora?

Luna · Accepted Answer

Question 3

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Question 5

Hello, I saw Atom SL Hoody listed with different style numbers (26889, 9560, 5409). Are these actually the same product with identical materials and specs, and the numbers only change by season? Please confirm.

River · Accepted Answer

Hello there, thanks for your question! Style number 9560 (X000009560) is the current version of the Atom SL Hoody available on our site, while 26889 and 5409 are older models that were discontinued as of Spring/Summer 2024. Although they share the same core design, the latest version includes several updates: it now features recycled Fortius™ Air 20 fabric, recycled stretch synthetic insulation, and an FC0 DWR finish for better mobility and a reduced environmental footprint. The Octa® Fleece side panels offer improved breathability with less micro shedding, and the StormHood™ is now lined and no longer stowable. Plus, the Bird logo is embroidered for long-lasting visual appeal.

Question 6

How to pack the jacket into itself

River · Accepted Answer

Hello Higgles, to pack your Atom SL Hoody into its own hood, lay it flat and fold the sleeves across the body. Then fold the jacket in half side to side, lining up the shoulders. Roll it tightly from the bottom hem toward the top until you reach the hood, then stuff the rolled body into the hood cavity. Secure everything using the hood cinch to keep it compact and streamlined.

Question 7

what means, more exactly, " moisture-resistant" in the description of the Atomic SL Hoody. Any measurements available? Resilience versus short rain showers, very light short rain?

Sophie · Accepted Answer

Hello, thank you for reaching out! The term moisture-resistant, in regards to the Atom SL Hoody, means the fabric has a durable water-repellent (DWR) finish that helps shed light moisture, such as a brief drizzle or mist. However, it's important to note that this garment is not waterproof. Unlike a GORE-TEX shell, it won’t keep you dry in sustained rain or wet conditions. For those scenarios, we recommend layering it under a waterproof shell for optimal protection. In terms of sizing, the model shown is 5'11" (180 cm) and wears a size Medium, and the center back length for size Medium is 72 cm. You can find more sizing details, including measurement charts, on the product description page under “Sizing chart and Fit Guide”. This hoody is ideal for high-output activities and light weather exposure—best suited to conditions like very light or short rain showers, but not prolonged rainfall. If you’d like further guidance on sizing or layering options, feel free to reach out through our Contact Us page. We're happy to help! https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/help/contact

Question 9

Can a men’s Atom SL hoody fit women

River · Accepted Answer

Hello Debbie, yes, a men's Atom SL Hoody can absolutely be worn by women; however, it's important to note that the fit may differ since it's tailored for men's proportions. You might notice differences in areas like shoulder width, torso length, and overall cut. For some women, this might result in a roomier or more relaxed fit, especially around the chest and hips. If you're considering this option, we recommend trying it on or comparing measurements with our women's version to ensure the best fit for your needs. We're always happy to help guide you through the sizing details.
