Question 2

hi may I know what is the difference between Solano Down & Epsilon Down ? which one is warmer ?

Amelie, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello Anna, thank you for your interest in the Solano Down Hoody and Epsilon Down Hoody. While we do not assign temperature ratings to our garments, as warmth depends on factors such as activity level, layering, weather conditions, and personal preference, the Epsilon Down Hoody is generally the warmer option. It combines 750-fill goose down with Coreloft™ synthetic insulation in moisture-prone areas and is designed for colder mountain environments. The Solano Down Hoody is a down-insulated hiking hoody that balances warmth, weather protection, and ventilation. It offers excellent versatility for active use and changing conditions. We recommend considering your activity level, local weather conditions, and layering system when choosing between the two. We hope it helps!

Question 3

For low output, urban commuting would the Epsilon Down Hoody or the Atom SV be warmer?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The difference between the Epsilon Down Hoody and the Atom SV Hoody will be the insulation used. The Epsilon Down Hoody uses 750-fill goose down while the Atom SV Hoody uses Coreloft™ 120. Down insulation can lose its warmth properties if wet. On dry, cold days, down insulation is ideal due to its warm-to-weight ratio. On rainy days or when performing high-output activities, synthetic insulation is recommended. We do not rate our garments for temperature as there are too many factors that influence this result from person to person, and we recommend referring to our layering guide for more tips on staying warm: https://arcteryx.com/us/en/shop/layering-guide/

Question 4

Hi, could you please give correct information related to face fabric? It is listed as Wee Burly in Construction section and Aequora AirPerm in Material section. What is the face fabric used and how many dernier it is in 2025 version?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Sunny, thanks for reaching out. The face fabric on the Epsilon Down Hoody is Aequora AirPerm™, and it uses a combination of 70d and 40d yarns in both the warp and the weft. We hope this helps!

Question 5

Question 6

Question 8

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, at this time, we do not have an anticipated restock date for the Epsilon Down Hoody. We are expecting inventory but cannot yet confirm when this will be available online. We recommend using the “Notify Me” feature, subscribing to Arc'teryx emails for up-to-date product information, or using our "Store Locator" feature for additional item availability.

Question 9

How packable is the jacket? Can it be stuffed inside its own pocket?

Sophie · Accepted Answer

Hi there, great question! The Epsilon Down Hoody can be compactly packed into its hood, but it's too bulky to fit comfortably into its pocket. We hope this clears things up!

Question 10

How is it in rain and is this warmer than the atom heavyweight jacket

River · Accepted Answer

Hi there, the Epsilon Down Hoody is a softshell that will repel light rain, but it's not fully waterproof. When it comes to warmth, the comparison between the Epsilon Down Hoody and the Atom Heavyweight Jacket is subjective. The Epsilon Down Hoody is down-insulated, providing excellent warmth-to-weight ratio and highly efficient natural insulation, ideal for cold, dry conditions or when minimizing weight and space are priorities. It excels in low-output activities. The Atom Heavyweight, on the other hand, features synthetic insulation, making it more water-resistant and quicker to dry. It’s a versatile midlayer or standalone piece, great for high-output activities or wetter conditions.
