Question 1

What is the Fill Weight of this down Jacket including down and synthetic materials. This is to compare the ration FW / FP with other types of down jackets?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Doal, thanks for reaching out. The Cerium SL Hoody is insulated with ultra-lofty premium 1000 fill grey goose down that delivers exceptional warmth for its weight. It also features Down Composite Mapping™, which strategically places synthetic insulation in areas where moisture may build up and down in areas for maximum warmth. At this time, we don't have the exact fill weight of the synthetic insulation used. That said, it features Coreloft™ 40 gsm on the neck panel and the underarm gusset, while the Coreloft™ 60 gsm is used on the shoulder and cuff. Please find the down fill weight for each size of the Cerium SL Hoody below:

XS: 43.36 g
S: 45.66 g
M: 49.57 g
L: 53.41 g
XL: 58.11 g
XXL: 62.90 g

We hope this helps!

Question 3

Warranty:

Do Arcteryx jackets have a lifetime warranty?

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Doug, thank you for bringing this up! Arc'teryx jackets are covered under our limited warranty, not lifetime warranty. Jackets and apparel (including the Cerium SL Hoody) are covered for the duration of their practical product lifespan. Practical product lifespan means the usual and customary wearable life of the product; it does not mean for your lifetime or mean a time period that is indefinite. The manner in which the product is used directly impacts the usual and customary wearable life of the product, as materials will deteriorate and fade over time, and moving parts will also wear. The practical product Lifespan will be determined in the reasonable discretion of an authorized Arc’teryx Customer Service representative who shall take into account at least the following factors: the type and nature of the product, the nature of the use of the product, the nature of the product issue involved, and the age of the product. Any damages caused by misuse, accident, or negligence are not covered under the limited warranty. For more information, please see our Warranty and Repairs page: https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/help/product-service.

Question 4

Two type of synthetic insulation are used on this jacket. Would be nice to know which is where? Im not sure if the down mapping is done identically on each jacket but could mast be show how it works on the item description

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for sharing your question and for your interest in how the insulation is distributed on the Cerium SL Hoody. We understand that knowing where synthetic insulation is placed can be really helpful when looking at products that use our Down Composite Mapping™, and we appreciate the feedback. The Cerium SL Hoody combines two weights of Coreloft™ synthetic insulation (40gsm and 60gsm) along with its primary insulation of 1000‑fill grey goose down. Each material is placed strategically to balance warmth, durability, and moisture management. Coreloft™ 40gsm is used in the underarm (armpit) panels to improve performance and breathability in areas that experience more moisture. Coreloft™ 60gsm is used in the shoulder panels to maintain warmth and loft in spots that are more exposed to pressure (e.g., wearing a backpack) and potential moisture (e.g., precipitation hitting that area, or moisture generated from the body). Coreloft™ 60gsm is placed in the cuffs at the ends of the sleeves for durability and better insulation retention in high‑wear areas. Everywhere else, the Cerium SL is insulated with 1000‑fill grey goose down. The Down Composite Mapping™ will vary from jacket to jacket; however, this armpit, shoulder, and cuff layout is standard for our Cerium line. We hope this helps, and we truly appreciate your suggestion — it’s been passed along to our team.

What temperatures is this jacket best for?

River · Accepted Answer

Hello there, the Cerium SL Hoody is an excellent choice for mild spring and summer weather. Its lightweight down insulation makes it an incredibly packable and thermally efficient jacket that will keep you warm without adding bulk. Plus, its minimalist design ensures versatility, whether you're layering up in the mountains or carrying it as an emergency layer on cooler days.

Question 7

Is this warmer than the Cerium Hoody? I know the down fill is higher, but I'm not sure if it is warmer than the Cerium Hoody or if it is aimed to be more compact.

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, great question! The Cerium Hoody will overall be a warmer jacket. The Cerium SL Hoody is designed to be lightweight and provide the highest efficiency insulation. It is insulated with 1000-fill grey goose down making it ultralightweight and highly compressible. Both have a great warmth-to-weight ratio, but the Cerium SL will pack down smaller, and the Cerium will keep you warmer. We hope this helps!
