Perfect for Climbing

I have been using this jacket at the crag for a month and love it. The face fabric is wind resistant and doesn't pill and the back and sides are super breathable. No more sweaty wet back under your back pack. Its perfect on those spring mornings where its too cool to be in a t-shirt but you do not want to be sweating on your approach. The inside is brushed fabric that wicks moisture off your skin. It also climbs well and holds up against limestone. One downside is that it really rides up when reaching and pulls out from the harness.

Great reincarnation of Fortrez hoody

I was looking forward to this reincarnation of the old Fortrez hoody. Similar to the Fortrez, this one also has a nice trim fit but with a little less bagging in the stomach area. It does feel thinner compared to the Fortrez but also feels more windproof with the newer material. I always appreciated the abrasion resistance of the hardfaced fleece on the old Fortrez, but I haven't tested out the abrasion resistance of this newer Konseal. Overall I am quite pleased with this new hoody, and I especially like the Vitality color which is a saturated true blue.

Great do-it-all layer, not a good climbing layer

Great fit, comfortable, highly breathable & an awesome all around high-output layer... but not quite sure what defines this as a climbing hoody. First day out climbing I put two holes in the fleece sleeves. One hole due to a nut tool puncture & one rubbing against a rock. The thumb loops are appreciated to approach, but do not offer much utility to climb with nor does the hood cover a helmet. For a climbing hoodie, I generally would expect more abrasion resistance. The gamma jacket still takes the climbing cake for me. That being said, this hoody is most definitely growing on me as an all-around jacket & the fit is slim and harness compatible.

Been looking forever to replace my old Lulu surge jacket from back in the day, and finally found the perfect replacement. I don’t know why the Konseal isn’t more popular, this is Arc at their best, no gorpcore nonsense. Breathable, light, water resistant, and a nice TRIM fit. 10/10 product.

Great do-it-all spring layer

Just picked up the Konseal Hybrid Hoody a couple of weeks ago and it's quickly become my go to layer for spring activities. Recently wore it every day of a 5 day ski traverse and for alpine running when the temperature hovers between -5 to 5 C. It strikes the perfect balance with warmth, wind protection and breathability. Compared to a dedicated wind layer like the Squamish Hoody, I find that I can keep the Konseal on for longer in changing conditions as I warm up.
Only downside that I've observed is that it tends to bunch up when worn underneath other larger layers with a large pack on. Minor inconvenience, especially considering that I'll usually wear this as a stand alone outer layer.
