review for 2023 version

I bought it in 2023 - it's my most-used hoodie for both casual wear and sports. I love it. I'm wondering if the current version is the same, as I'd like to buy it again in the future. My 2023 one still looks like new, with no tears.
I used to love the Atom as well, a long time ago, but the new version looks so different and cheap now. I hope the Proton maintains the same quality.

Disappointment, cheap, not worth the money

It’s a waste of money. I bought this not only for the product but the brand. “Arc’teryx” is renowned for their quality products and warranties but they aren’t what they once were. I have multiple Arc’teryx products and my proton coat disintegrated. The fabric is poor quality , I can’t believe it’s even advertised as “climbing and high output activities” it’s destroyed and I wore it to the grocery store! I emailed Arc’teryx about issues and they refused to honour their warranty on the fabric. The material literally rips apart under any strain. The main zipper split after 1 year and both pocket zipper broke shortly after. Unless their quality dramatically improves it’s not worth the price. Do better Arc’teryx.

I love this as a midlayer for winter hiking, snowboarding and splitboarding. It's really breathable which helps maintain a comfortable temperature- I tour/hike fast (no talking or stopping!) It's a warmer layer, so will pair with the Satoro Merino Crew in cold weather -8 to 0*, and the Lana long sleeve for warmer temps. I've worn consistently for two seasons (120+ days) and have had no pilling. My only con is if you sweat needs a strong detergent as it holds onto smells (as I find most synthetic fabrics do (I have a sensitive nose.)

Great and versatile mid-layer!

Great breathable mid-layer. I love wearing this for snowboarding and everyday wear. Have worn and washed this hoody quite a few times, and it still looks as good as new.

Great snow sports mid-layer

Very comfortable, lightweight, warm but breathable jacket that keeps me warm when snowboarding. Feels warmer than atom hoody, also more breathable.

Possibly less durable fabric

Love this jacket for the fact it’s essential the atom jacket with an additional pocket, however it’s already snagged somehow in 2 small spots and I haven’t even had it 6 months. I paid full price for it too. A previous atom jacket I had has last YEARS with heavy backpacking and bushwhacking/ route finding in BC and somehow never managed to get a single hole in the fabric. I’m not sure if the fabric is a worse choice or if the quality over all has changed.

This! ⬆️ the fabric is garbage and will be destroyed under any strain. I raised my arm and the sleeve ripped. It’s poor quality and the brand won’t stand behind their products. Move on buy something else.

Love this hoody - not too tight, not too loose, stretchy, light, and super cozy and warm. Light weight enough to layer with, warm enough to wear on it's own. An all round great piece that is super versatile, functional, and looks pretty darn goo too.

Sizing has gone up.

Just purchased and have used on a few hikes. Sizing has gone up, womens large is now much more roomy than previously. I am 5'10 and 168 lbs. Love the length as now comes down over my bum. I can wear a full fleece underneath. Nice breathability.
