Question 1

Does it come with a bag that it packs into?

Joseph, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello there, thank you for your question. The Solano Hoody does not come with a separate storage or stuff sack, nor is it designed to pack into one of its own pockets. We hope this helps.

Question 2

What are the exact measurments for the jacket in size XS?

Luna · Accepted Answer

Hi Julian, thank you for your question. We would be happy to provide three key measurements for the Solano Hoody in size XS:

Chest width: 105.9 cm
Waist width: 100.9 cm
Hem width: 100.4 cm

We hope this helps!

Question 3

In practice, does its "Gore-Tex Infinium" membrane work well enough as an outer layer for a short commute in light drizzle, or will it wet through quickly, making it strictly a windy-day piece? Thank you

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Solano Hoody is made with GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER. It is windproof and treated with an FC0 DWR (durable water repellent) finish, which helps it shed light moisture. It would be ideal as an outer layer for short commutes and light drizzle. That said, it is not fully waterproof, so in prolonged exposure or heavier rain, it may not be ideal. We hope this helps!

Question 4

How warm is the hoody?

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Stephan, thank you for reaching out. The Solan Hoody Men's is designed as a lightweight, weather-resistant shell rather than an insulated layer. It features a breathable, windproof, and waterproof fabric that provides protection against the elements, making it ideal for mild conditions or as part of a layering system. Because warmth depends on many factors, such as activity level, personal comfort, and what layers you wear underneath, we do not rate our jackets based on warmth. For tips on how to stay warm and choose the right layers, we recommend referring to our layering guide. If you’re looking for additional warmth, we suggest exploring our insulated jackets for better thermal performance. We hope this helps! https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/shop/layering-guide/

Question 5

Item is not water proof. When I wearing that last time in German. Rain did wet through the jacket. Why?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Solano Hoody is made with a 2L GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER® fabric. This material is windproof and weather-resistant, but it is not fully waterproof. In light to moderate rain, it will shed water effectively, but in heavier or prolonged rain, it may eventually wet out. For full waterproof protection, we recommend one of our jackets made with a 3L GORE-TEX fabric, such as the Beta Jacket. We hope this helps!

Question 6

FUNCIONA PARA CLIMA LLUVIOSO ?

River · Accepted Answer

Question 7

Are the cuffs adjustable or only elastic?

River · Accepted Answer

Hello there, the Solano Hoody features a fold-over elastic at the cuffs to provide shape and a secure fit, but it is not adjustable.

Question 8

Do the hand pockets have zippers?

River · Accepted Answer

Hello there, yes, the Solano Hoody does feature zippered hand pockets, providing secure storage for small essentials while you're on the go.

Question 9

I own the Squamish jacket and am looking to upgrade to another light weight wind proof that breaths. Do you recommend the Solano or something else? Thanks

Sophie · Accepted Answer

Hello, thanks for reaching out! The Solano Hoody is a great choice if you're looking to upgrade from the Squamish. Both the Solano Hoody and Jacket offer excellent windproofing, weather protection, and breathability for high-output activities. The main differences are that the Hoody includes a hood and the Jacket features 50D recycled nylon under the arms for added ventilation and stretch. Another excellent option to consider is the Norvan Jacket. It's ultralight, breathable, windproof, and made with PFAS-free GORE-TEX, offering full wind and water protection in a packable design. We hope this helps! Feel free to reach out by phone or through our Contact Us form if you have more questions. https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/help/contact

Question 10

Is this jacket has enough breathability for rainy summer days? Or will it be too warm

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Youn, thanks for reaching out. The Solano Hoody is designed for high-output alpine hiking and features a highly breathable fabric under the arms that can help you stay comfortable on rainy days in warmer weather. That said, we do not rate our garments for temperature, as there are too many factors that influence this result from person to person, and we recommend referring to our layering guide for more tips on layering: https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/shop/layering-guide/
