Je n’ai pas mis 5 étoiles car il y a plusieurs problèmes :
- -La difficulté c’est de les enfiler même avec le chausse-pieds.
- Le chausson laisse quand même passer des micros gravillons (grains de sables) par l’arrière niveau du tendon.
A chaque sortie quotidienne de 25/30 kms j’en fait l’expérience et c’est désagréable.
La couture intérieure au talon (tendon d’Achille)provoque un échauffement donc des ampoules .
Pour le reste elle très bien mais on verra dans le temps.

I'm back in business in the backcountry with these

It's about time someone made a super lightweight, durable, breathable, comfortable running/climbing shoe with an ankle gaiter. I don't write reviews very often...only when something is really bad or really good. These shoes are the latter. I am sooo pleased. It has been many years since a shoe was made that even comes close to this for backcountry adventuring, so it's great to finally have one. I'm 58, had a lifetime of adventuring, and have been struggling with finding descent shoes for awhile. Not anymore. Folks...keep the positive reviews coming on these, so we can keep them around. Amazing grip on wet or dry, clever scree sock

Absolutely awesome shoe for mountain running or fell running. I run in the Lakes District (UK) and whether it's scrambling up technical slopes of Scafell or running down flowy trails of Kentmere these shoes deliver.
Their grip doesn't look like much, but boy do they grip! Wet rock and even wet grass, they're great. I'm especially surprised with how well they grip on the wet slate of the lakes.
They're super comfortable and the sock prevents any tiny rocks coming in when going down screes.
Highly recommend.

Ultimate Fast and Light Shoe

I've use these shoes for a few days now in the alpine. I've been really impressed so far. I was a big fan of the old Vertex shoes and I was apprehensive about an overhaul of them. I honestly think these are better in every way. The gaiter is tighter and more anatomical. The varied tread has great traction and edges well. The differing densities of foam make a big difference in the feel of the shoe. You can really feel the increased cushioning below the heel. Overall, Arcteryx has nailed it with a shoe than can do it all. These things climb really well but feel so light and promote a more natural gait than an approach shoe, like they actually want to be run in. They're perfect for the kind of fast and light alpinism/mountain running that I find really inspiring.

Fast, Precise, and Built for Technical Terrains

I’ve been running with the Vertex Speed across a variety of terrains from steep alpine ridgelines to rocky switchbacks and rooty forest paths, and it’s clear this shoe was made for technical mountain trails and off trails. It offers an impressive blend of responsiveness and control, making it ideal for runners who like to move fast over challenging ground.
The low-profile midsole gives a great sense of contact with the terrain, which helps with confidence on uneven, rocky sections where precise foot placement matters. The outsole has a tacky, grippy feel and performs really well on dry rock, compact dirt, and technical descents, exactly the kind of environment where you don’t want to lose footing. Fit-wise, the Vertex Speed locks the foot in without pressure points. The heel stays secure, which is key when navigating steep or off-camber sections. The upper is lightweight and breathable but still durable enough to handle abrasion from rocks or brush on narrow trails. If you’re looking for a race-ready shoe that thrives on speed and technical precision the Vertex Speed is an excellent choice.

Ich liebe es, schnell und leicht in den Bergen unterwegs zu sein - auch in technisch anspruchsvollem Gelände. Der Vertex Speed ist der erste Schuh, mit dem ich mich auch bei leichten Klettereien extrem sicher fühle und trotzdem auch längere "laufbare" Passagen schnell überwinde. Ich bin Distanzen bis zu 50 Kilometern im Vertex Speed gelaufen, und das hat super funktioniert. Für viel längere Ultras fehlt ihm etwas die Dämpfung.
Hier sind ein paar Sachen, die mir besonders gut gefallen:
- Der Fuß hat einen unfassbaren Halt im Schuh. Durch die sockenähnliche Konstruktion gibt es kein Rutschen oder "Schwimmen" im Schuh.
- Die Schnürung gibt dem Fuß einen hervorragenden Halt und fixiert ihn fest im Schuh.
- Die "climbing zone" an der Fußspitze ist sehr gut geeignet, um im felsigen Gelände leichte Kletterpassagen schnell zu überwinden
- Die Garmasche hält kleine Steinchen und Kiesel verlässlich fern.
- Trotz der recht festen, steifen Sohle hat er ein angenehmes Laufgefühl und Abrollverhalten.
Lediglich auf sehr langen Distanzen würde ich mir etwas mehr Dämpfung wünschen. Aber hierfür gibt es ja noch andere Modelle.

Fantastic running and overall comfortable walking-around shoe! Almost feels like a part of my foot. Reminds me of the comfort of my distance-running track shoes (other brand that I won't name here :) from back in high school. Love these Vertex Speed shoes!
