Planning on buying a Beta AR but i dont hike or climb mountains. Im just gonna use it as  a rain jacket for my daily commute. Would that seem crazy to get this jacket for 700 dollars just for that or do other people do the same?

Hello, thank you for your interest for the Beta AR. The jacket has a waterproof rating of 28,000 mm, meaning it is designed to withstand heavy rain, wet snow, and demanding alpine conditions. RET (resistance to evaporative heat loss = breathability) value results can vary wildly depending on temperature, humidity, pressure, and many other factors. The value is not standardized from brand to brand, or test to test. Most testing doesn’t reflect real-world environment conditions so we decided to not use those values to rate the breathability of our items. In addition, the jacket features underarm pit zips, allowing you to quickly dump excess heat and further improve ventilation when you're working hard. We hope this helps!
