Great waterproof shell

I used this shell so far for skiing days and an ice climbing outing. Kept me completely dry for both activities and ice climbing had a lot of dripping water. It's very lightweight as well so it was great for traveling. It has a pretty slim silhouette without being too restrictive. Note: does not fit over large boots like ski boots unless you open the zipper. I chose to just stuff the hem of my pants into my boots. I wiped out multiple times and didn't end up getting snow in my boots anyways so it should be fine.

I like these light weight shell pants with full side zippers. The waist belt system needs to be more robust. I find the drawstring at the waist tensions unevenly and pulls on one side more than the other. The snaps pop open all the time. A stronger system is needed.

Lightweight and waterproof

I bought these gortex pants for an upcoming trek in South America. I like that they are lightweight and packable. One thing to note is they fit very large. I am normally a size 4 and had to go down to a size zero (unheard of for me). I am 5'9" and 125 lbs and the pants are a bit short for me, but unfortunately they don't come in a longer length. I am excited to get out in the rainy weather with these pants.

Durable pants

Wore these pants on a trip to Iceland, and was glad I had them. They kept me dry in the wet conditions (under waterfalls, rain, snow) blocked the wind and easy to layer under.
The pants themselves are light weight, and pack easy while taking up minimal space and weight.
Full length side zippers to stay cool while inside or commuting

Not durable - new rip after each hike

The pants are comfortable and have a nice fit, however, they rip ridiculously easily - each time I wear them on a hike , I get a new rip. I've had to send them in and get them repaired twice (paying 20% pant price for the service, of course), AND I just got another rip this weekend. Not sure if I should continue wasting money on repairs or just throw them out at this point. I think calling them an ultra durable alpine pant is a very very misleading.
