Question 1

I have arthritis in my right toe joint, does this shoe have a toe rocker, to prevent the toe from bending on the push off?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Norvan LD 4 Shoe does not feature a rockered midsole. If you are looking for a shoe with a rockered midsole, we recommend looking into the Sylan 2 Shoe. We hope this helps!

Question 2

Is the Norvan LD 4 suitable for larger / heavier-set people or would the 25mm cushioning bottom out quickly (particularly on harder surfaces)? TIA! - Jana

Amelie, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello Jana, thank you for your question. The Norvan LD 4 features 25 mm of cushioning, which is generally considered a moderate amount for a trail running shoe. Under normal use, we would not expect the midsole to bottom out quickly, even on firmer surfaces. The Norvan LD 4 is designed as a long-distance trail running shoe that adapts to training runs and adventures over mud, roots, and rocks. However, cushioning preferences and perceived comfort can vary depending on factors such as running style, terrain, and pack load. If you typically prefer a highly cushioned shoe, you may find a higher-stack shoe more suitable. To help you determine whether they're the right fit, we offer free returns within 30 days, provided the shoes are returned in new, unworn condition with the tags attached. We hope this helps!

Question 3

what is the sole drop

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Norvan LD 4 Shoe has a 6mm sole drop. Hope this helps!

Question 4

What is the difference between the Norvan and the Sylan? Do one of these have a wider toe box than the other?

Luna · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks so much for your question! Both shoes are designed with a Comfort Fit, but if you’re looking for extra space in the toe box, the Sylan will feel roomier than the Norvan LD 4 Shoe. Here’s a quick look at what makes each one special:

Norvan LD 4 Shoe:
- Perfect for long-distance runs with stability and comfort across varied terrain
- Smooth-pull lacing system for a secure midfoot fit and no heel slip
- Flat-knit tongue that wraps your foot for a snug, supportive feel

Sylan Pro Shoe:
- Built for speed and technical mountain trails
- Sock-like knit collar that keeps out debris and feels super secure
- Rocker midsole geometry for extra propulsion, shock absorption, and efficiency

In short: If you want comfort and stability for long runs, go with the Norvan LD 4. If speed and agility are your priority, and you love a roomier toe box, the Sylan is the way to go. Hope this helps, and happy running!

Question 5

Would this shoe be appropriate to wear in the gym for cross training? Strength and cardio workouts?

River · Accepted Answer

Hello there, although the Norvan LD 4 isn’t specifically built for gym-based cross-training, it could absolutely work for many strength and cardio workouts, thanks to its stable midfoot hold, spacious forefoot, and grippy Vibram® Megagrip outsole. These features offer solid traction and comfort, even during dynamic movement. While it’s optimized for long distance on trails, its lightweight build and secure fit make it a versatile option for general training, especially if your workouts lean more toward functional fitness or endurance work.

Question 6

Arch support. What type of arch support is in shoe

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Peggy, thanks for reaching out. The Norvan LD 4 is designed to be a predictable shoe for when the terrain gets unpredictable. It has a 6 mm offset (stack height: 25 mm at the heel, 19 mm at the forefoot). For support, it features a dual-density midsole that balances cushioning, shock absorption, and stability, giving you all-day comfort on rugged terrain. We hope this helps!

Question 7

Question 8

Innensohle herausnehmbar?

Sophie · Accepted Answer
