Beta AR Jacket Women's

I got the Beta AR as a replacement for my 2014 Alpha SV. It's roomier and better suited for my all-around usage including bikepacking, mountain biking, hiking, and every day use. All the features I liked and needed on the Alpha are also on the Beta (arm zippers, big pockets, awesome hood, adjustability). I strongly recommend this jacket as an all-rounder. The additional room will make it easier to layer up in the winter. I am 170cm and 57kg and I have a size small. It fits on the large side, but it's great for my long arms and for layering! I would never want to have a jacket other than this one!

Bought this as a warranty replacement for a 10+ yo of the same thing. Knew exactly what we wanted and I’m sure we will many years out of this awesome product.

I absolutely love this piece. It is spacious enough for multiple layers underneath while also maintaining a sleek look. It has a great inner front pocket that fits a cell phone easily and is very accessible. It is super easy to adjust the fit with the drawstring adaptors, while maintaining its aesthetic. It insulates incredibly well--I use this all the time when manning long belays in cold, windy, or wet conditions, and it keeps me insulated and dry. The neck structure and hood is manufactured in a way that allows you to keep your neck warm with the hood down--which is major bonus when you don't want heat loss but also need a clear line of sight above (e.g. when belaying!)

I bought a jacket in 2014 for my older (late teens) daughter. Some of the lamination came off and separated this year (late 2020). I followed the service request and after they inspected it-all through online photos-gave me a replacement voucher. She wore it in Glacier Park Montana and all over Europe after college graduation and working as an au pair in France for a year! The replacement we chose was a Beta AR, which she will be taking to graduate school this fall. Sure, it is expensive, but it is well worth it. No, I am not a paid supporter but an enthusiastic amateur!

J'ai acheté cette coquille il y a quelques semaines et j'ai pu la porter à quelques reprises depuis. Au début, je n'étais pas certaine de mon choix car je la trouvais rigide, mais en la mettant à l'épreuve en randonnée notamment, je trouve qu'elle s'est assouplie et fait parfaitement maintenant ! Elle est parfaite pour faire du multi-couche, la coupe est belle et les fentes d'aération sous les bras sont très utiles. Je vais également l'utiliser comme coupe-vent/imper dans mes activités cet été/automne. Je mesure 5pi7, pèse environ 145 lbs et j'ai pris la taille medium. Pour moi le fit est parfait c'est exactement ce que je recherchais, j'ai de l'espace pour mettre une veste isolante ou un gros polar en dessous et le manteau n'a pas l'air trop "lousse" si j'ai seulement un chandail mince. Bonne longueur aux bras. Bref, je suis très satisfaite de mon achat !

Just got this jacket as a birthday gift. I haven't had the change to try it out because I received my normal jacket size (small) and it was HUGE. Especially the arms, which were way too long for me. I expected it to be a bit larger than a normal jacket since it's meant to be a shell, but even with my puffy down jacket underneath, it was still way too big. I just ordered the XS and am hoping it will fit much better. (I'm 5'6", ~130 lbs, athletic frame) Otherwise, this jacket seems to be of excellent quality, and I am looking forward to trying it out. Also, contrary to what some have said, I love the color! (Fire engine red)

This replaced my first beta AR (which I loved until it delaminated after only one season and the pockets would fill with water). I would like to think I simply had a jacket that slipped through the cracks in terms of quality control, especially as none of the quick “fixes” worked either. But oh how I miss that Whiskey Jack colour. Can’t fault the customer service - this was very quickly taken care of for me in terms of a credit and once I could find a replacement (I get it - the outdoors is in an even higher demand during Covid). However I wanted to upgrade to Alpha AR which was to be “restocked in 2 weeks” yet that message lasted for 2 months until I was informed “try Fall 2021”. So I’m giving the beta a second chance. Have high hopes for my replacement especially as the price has since increased and I still think highly of the brand. I can understand wear & tear but I’ll be raising my eyebrows if I only get a season out of this. I have no problem paying for quality but that’s what I should then receive. The kingfisher colour is much nicer in reality than online too (apparently I like the bird theme colours). I can still nicely layer underneath too even in an XS. Sleeves a bit long on me but not a big deal in the grand scheme.

Premier hiver que j'utilise le multicouche et quelle différence ! Lors des activités, je suis quelqu'un qui dégage beaucoup d'humidité donc plus à risque d'avoir froid. J'ai essayé la coquille avec trois vestes isolantes de différentes épaisseurs et dans tous les cas le confort était parfait selon l'activité et la température. C'est une coquille très performante, au design confortable et qui s'adapte aux mouvements.

Excellent water resistant capabilities. Keeps me dry when I'm out hiking, camping, fishing, the list goes on and on. I have had this jacket now for about 3 years and it's still as good as it was on Day 1.

This is my second Arcteryx jacket that I’ve bought this year and I am so happy with it. I often struggle with finding jackets that are long enough in the arms and the body and I couldn’t have asked for a better for with this jacket. I am 5’8” and 135 lbs and I purchased a medium.

There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing. I love to walk outside, being outdoors, being in nature. The beta AR really lives up to the expectation, there's no excuse to not go outside. It keeps me dry, when I wear a down jacket underneath it, it is comfortable, durable, it is a great jacket. Highly recommended!

Blocks wind, comfortable, excellent hood keeps rain and wind out. Great value!

I bought this two months ago and it has been great for skiing and now in the shoulder season for hiking in spring like (rainy) conditions. I love the length of the jacket as it keeps me warm and dry.

I bought this a month ago and LOVE it! For resort snowboarding and backcountry ski touring, I paired it with my Atom LT Hoody. It's great at cutting the wind, it repels every drop of moisture, and it looks sleek. I've also used it as a shell for road biking, and I'll use it as a shell/rain jacket hiking this summer. I'd originally bought the Zeta LT for the same reasons I bought this jacket...only because I was hesitant to spend over $700 on a coat. Let me say - they are NOT comparable. While the Zeta LT is still a wonderful coat, this is definitely meant more for the all-around activity user. I love it!

I bought this for a heavier shell (winter) to replace a parka. Boy did it exceed my expectations! The fit is almost perfect, it’s loose without a mid layer, but that’s the design. It’s wonderfully light weight and very breathable. This has quickly become my favourite piece! I’ve used it for winter hikes, and cross country skiing in Ottawa and not once was I cold!

Great jacket...really keeps you dry. The underarm zipper is an excellent feature to have. The velcro around the wrist is very strong. On the down side, I wish it had a packable bag to put it in so you can just hook it onto a backpack

I bought this to replace my Beta LT I had and so glad I did. It's a perfect fit and keeps me dry. I wear this everywhere. The hood is big but not too big and has a cinch if needed. I don't carry a purse/bag if I'm out for a walk, and wished there was an extra chest pocket for my credit card or cash so I can keep my hands in my pocket without worrying that they'd fall out when I take my hands out.
