Atom Hoody Hombre

This is my second Atom jacket. They are great for winter activities, or cold nights/days.

This product failed first use and it was deemed to not be covered by their warranty. The outer material is apparently virtually tissue paper, and tore in several places after a light push through some scrub oak on a hike. This is my 4th Arc'teryx jacket (I love the others) and I will not be shopping with them again after how easily this ripped and was refused to be covered.

Was sold this product as a base layer to my ski shell (i believe the rush is the shell) and was told this would hold up to spring skiing on warmer days. Took 1 sping skiing day to rip this coat and now you guys will not offer to honor your warranty. The “ gore tex pro “ on my shell is a joke as well, already stained after a season of use. Will be looking into a new jacket system this season, unacceptable customer service and quality.

Got my black atom stolen a few months ago and couldn’t handle life without it. The new one is such a beautiful blue colour, I love it! So comfy and versatile, a must have for anyone!

The most versatile jacket(s) I own... not too heavy for alpine, not too light for Scottish winter (under a shell), ideal for ski-touring, just slim enough to take bike-packing. Perfect for walking, ideal for travelling. There really is not much else I own that fits into such an array of uses. Some folk grumble that the wind whistles through the sides too much, but in this instance it has been the wrong jacket choice, or a shell needs to be brought. The sides negate any sweat build up, the SV version of this is much less useful without them. If anything, and this is super minor; I do not need these pockets to have zips. If open, they would be comfier for walking on the hands/wrists, and would be closed by a harness waist-belt when climbing. But I cannot see a version like that coming out. Love this jacket.

J'ai beaucoup de produits arcteryx mais parmi tous celui ci est de loin mon favori. Je l'ai en 3 couleurs différentes et l'utilise à tous les jours hiver comme été. Ultra confortable et respirant, il est pratique dans mon métier d'entraineur , quand je fais de l'escalade ou dans mes 2 heures de vélo quotidien. Je ne peux que le recommander !

This jacket is my absolute favourite during the summer months in mountain climate. I always carry it in my backpack when I am handling out in town or when I am in the mountains. It is a decent wind stopper and water resistant in light to moderate rain. I just purchased my second one after around 6 years of loyal service from my first Atom. Very versatile piece of clothing.

I love the jacket. it's warm, light, and beautiful. Unfortunately, it suffers from the same consistent outer fabric quality issues that many have posted here. see pic. took me some time to figure out how this happened. it was just my wearing a backpack daily, and there must have been friction between the jacket and one of the straps of the backpack. never happened with other jackets, so this speaks to how delicate this jacket is. wouldn't recommend if you anticipate any activity other than walking...

Purchased this jacket for my husband last year, and he only wears it in the spring and fall, and it started pilling. It’s so disappointing after all of the Arcteryx jackets I’ve purchased, that it happened to this one and when we contacted customer service, they told us to just shave it ourselves. They said it’s caused by washing the jacket (with proper Arcteryx instructions) and wear & tear - so anpparently pilling is normal for all of their jackets except their old jackets. After the in-store associate helped us shaved it, it was still very visible. What a shame that the quality of Arcteryx has gone down so much. There are other stores that have completely replaced jackets/clothing for us, no questions asked. I’m rather shocked that after spending several thousands of dollars at their store, we were just told to shave the jacket and that it’s supposed to be like that.

Very disappointed with my recent Arc'teryx purchase. I bought the Men's Atom hoody in a size small (I'm 5'7", 140 lbs) and it's disappointing compared to my Wife's Atom hoody from 5 years ago (named the Atom LT hoody at the time). I noticed instantly the material felt thinner and cheaper. The fit of the new Atom is also very boxy and I would not consider it "fitted" at all. I have an older Beta shell in size XS which I find can be tight in some spots so I ordered the Atom in size S, which turned out to be quite roomy. I definitely could have fit an XS and it still probably wouldn't be "fitted". The fit of Arc'teryx overall seems to have become boxier which is quite disappointing. I used to be a big fan of Arc'teryx gear but will have to reconsider ordering any more gear from them due to their decline in quality, unpredictable sizing and fit, and poor customer service.

I bought the Atom hoody on Jan 2024 primarily for daily use. However, the fabric quality has degraded since then. For the amount paid, the product quality is bad.

The Atom Hoody is perfect for daily wear, particularly in Metro Vancouver. It fits well and is packable. The jacket provides just the right amount of insulation for cold and chilly days, and it effectively blocks the sun and strong winds. This is an automatic recommendation for anyone looking to try an Arc'teryx jacket. Overall, it's an excellent choice for everyday use.

Received my jacket 1,5 weeks ago and worn it only once, for 5 min, in my car. The lower backside of the fabric is damaged en looks like it is about to break. I can’t believe how bad the quality is for the price this jacket costs. I own several jackets from RAB and this never happened. Not even after years of using them. I contacted the customer service so let’s see what there reply will be. For the record, the jacket is 1,5 weeks old, and worn only once!

I own many Arcteryx pieces, including two Atom Hoodys and one Atom Jacket, all of which are older versions (pre-2020). I purchased my first piece in 2012...an Atom jacket, size XL, which feels just as incredible as the day I tried it on. The amazing quality and fit has left a lasting impression. Fast forward 12 years later and the story is much different. I tried on the 2024 version at my local outdoor store and immediately noticed the shiny finish of the material which makes the jacket look and feel cheaper than the older version. The fit is very baggy around the waist and length is noticeably and unnecessarily longer. It's intended use is as a midlayer or standalone light jacket but it's cut like a parka. I've grown to be loyal to the brand but my recent observations leave me thinking that I'll be hanging onto my older pieces as long as possible and will seek out other brands if the trend continues.

I've had the green version of the Atom LT for about a year now, and I can't begin to tell you how perfectly versatile it is... I've worn it layered for Teton winters, day in, day out. I wear it at work as a first responder and on the airport flightline. I've worn it traveling to Europe in winter and spring. It often doubles as a blanket when the real thing isn't available. It is form-fitting, but not snug, so it is ALWAYS comfortable no matter what. I've had three complete strangers, MEN, approach me and tell me how good-looking the jacket and color are. (Are you listening, Arc'teryx??) I love this jacket so much I ordered this one in Sapphire Black (i.e. Navy Blue), and other than its sharp-looking stylish color, it is an exact match to my green one.

Meine zweite Atom Jacke und trotz einiger Änderungen, bin ich auch mit der neuen Version super zufrieden. Ich möchte die Unterschiede zwischen meinem alten Atom Modell und der neuen hier vorstellen. Neuer Schnitt: Ja, die Jacke ist minimal weiter geworden. Aber wirklich nur minimal. Sie sitzt immer noch körperbetont und lässt Platz für Schichten darunter. Meine alte Atom (ca 6 Jahre alt) ist im Bauchbereich noch etwas enger. Für mich ist der neue Schnitt sogar besser, da auch mein Bauch in den letzten Jahren etwas an Umfang zugelegt hat (immer noch sportliche Figur aber nicht mehr ganz so skinny). Neues Material außen: Ja, das neue Aussenmaterial fühlt sich etwas härter an. Meine alte ist außen supersoft, aber auch super empfindlich (Dornen, Funken etc). Hier ist die neue sicher robuster. Auch die Füllung fühlt sich etwas anders an, aber das wird sich nach einigen Wäschen und viel Bewegung drin sicher auch noch ändern. Wärmeleistung: Ich meine die neue ist noch etwas wärmer als meine alte. In jedem Fall sehr windbeständig, trotz der eher atmungsaktiven Stoff- Steifen unter den Armen. Regenbeständigkeit: Altes Modell: war im Nu pitschnass. Die neue hält Regen zumindest einige Zeit deutlich besser ab. Wenngleich ich die Jacke bei richtigem Regen immer mit einer Shell Jacke kombinieren würde. Tragegefühl: Super angenehm, kuschelig und warm. Armbündchen sind super soft. Kapuze passt gut, Gummizüge an Bund unten und Kapuze sind super. Fazit: Ich empfehle auch das neue Modell.

What I would do for my “made in Canada” Atom LT from 10 years ago. This is my third time getting this jacket; each version is worse than the one before. Should have known the end was near for Arcteryx when HS kids started complimenting me on wearing it a few years ago. Travis Scott and Drake; I was fine when you’ll were just making crappy music but why are you ruining my favorite brands? Stone Island too

Fidèle client de la marque depuis 15 ans, je suis passé ce jour en magasin essayer la nouvelle Atom et énorme déception sur la nouvelle coupe. La taille L a toujours été parfaite pour moi (1m84, 78kg), je me retrouve avec un M trop serré et un L trop long et trop large. Suis reparti sans rien, très déçu. Revenez à l’ancienne coupe svp !

I bought a previous version of the Atom hoody and recently noticed that the outer fabric had distorted and worn badly on the back and under the arms. I sent it back to Arcteryx for their assessment and they told me this damage was caused by wearing it with a rucksack. Considering this jacket is promoted as a mid-layer or outer layer for hiking I was really surprised by this response and the by the lack of ownership shown by Arcteryx for what is an expensive jacket. DO NOT BELIEVE THE PROMOTIONAL HYPE FOR THIS JACKET - IT IS NOT FOR OUTDOOR USE BUT FOR CASUAL WEARING ONLY, IN MY OPINION.

sizzing has got baggy and its very frutrating. this is not a jacket your with layers. it should fitt snug. m is now L

I picked this hoody because I love my Practitioner hoody for SAR and was looking for something similar but in more "casual" colors. Although I like the Practitioner's interior better. I still love this jacket and I have been wearing it pretty much everyday since I got it! Very comfortable, just warm enough, and breathable, and it is nice enough (at least in Solitude color) to wear at the office.

Truly an excellent Purchase. This Atom Hoody is simply the best mid-layer all round jacket one can buy. To start off, the quality is great, zipper never fails, it's water proof to an extent and keeps me warm in regular conditions. The hood is the perfect size (usually a miss with outdoor jackets), the interior is super comfortable and warm with no extra layer needed in the inside for extra comfort, and the overall fit is perfect if your wearing it underneath, over top, or as a single layer. For a 5'9 athletic build, this jacket fits me perfectly, with the perfect amount of space to move, not too tight or loose, which gives it a very stylish and athletic look on the outside. Temperatures: Now, here it gets iffy. The jacket is meant to be worn underneath an outer layer, or over-top of a hoodie, and for that it is literally perfect. Super comfortable and snug like you're getting a hug, warm, stylish and nonrestrictive, and can be worn in negative temperatures if used as a mid-layer. However, the jacket is also amazing when used on its own, as your only layer, that is under ideal temperatures. If your going on a walk, doing activities, or just talking to some buds at 10 degrees C and don't want to bundle up, this is perfect; keeps you warm, dry, doesn't make you sweat, and is very breathable and agile. However, if you are expecting this jacket to keep you warm in freezing temperatures, or in the snow, or in very windy circumstances where its 1 or 2 degrees, It simply will not. It will definitely help, and keep you somewhat warm, but not for long as it's not too thick. If used properly, it is a perfect jacket. Overall: The jacket Is perfect. I used it when I'm going on walks, scooter rides, going to eat, as an extra layer, going to school, work, while driving if its cold, at night when going out, and as a base/mid-layer when skiing, in the snow, or during the cold months of winter in freezing temperatures. Furthermore, this jacket paired with the arcteryx insulated or an arcteryx alpha or beta shell is the perfect combo to keep you agile, warm, and dry. With this very flexible and reasonable price tag, the jacket fully satisfies all my needs, and is a number one pick when going out on a regular cloudy day. Fully recommend it, and I have never been happier with this purchase.

Only had a chance to wear a few times so far, but this hoody is a perfect mix of temperature control, wind resistance, water resistance (more for misty/light drizzle) and overall weight.
