I have two Atom SL Hoody’s, one in Forage and one in Serene, I use them as general every day top layers. I don’t use them for anything particularly adventurous, just day to day wear, I think the level of insulation is perfect in the UK during April to May, and September to October (that’s a rough guide) as soon as my Atom Hoody starts to feel a bit warm I swop over to the SL. It’s a nice lightweight hoody, and packs away nice and small. The build and material seem durable enough, I’m sure if you treat it well it will last. Definitely 4/5 stars, the only thing to bring it too 5 stars would the colour range, if there was the same options that were in the Woman’s range, that would be really good as I like the brighter colours, especially Alpenglow.

I own an Atom LT Hoody that I have worn for years and recently replaces with the Atom SL Hoody as my youngest son has taken ownership of the LT. Overall this is a great replacement. It sheds light rain and is the prefect jacket for everyday use in moderate weather. It is also remarkably light. I am 5' 9" 170LB athletic build and the medium fits nicely.

I love the weight of the Atom SL and the bright color. It's great for spring hiking or late winter/early spring running. The material and quality are great. My only complaint is that the Women's S is a bit tight across the chest and the Women's M is a bit too loose, so it feels less flattering than some of my other Arc'teryx jackets. It fits my friend who is taller than me a bit better!

I chose this jacket to use it for daily wear, traveling and trail hike. This new Atom SL is very light compared to the previous season and I was not sure it was going to keep me warm. I must say this is one of my new favorite lights jackets for this season! Light, but really keep you warm in Spring and Fall season. I had a T-shirt underneath and kept me really warm in 10c degrees weather. Also, this jacket came with C0 DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coting and it'll keep you dry from the light rain.

Excellent jacket, not perfect, arms are little long, could use more elastic in the arm holes , great embroidery! Of the logo and name, it want wash a way ,,

Brilliant, super lightweight and versatile piece. Personally, I much prefer the redesign to the previous iteration. It wears really well under a harness for a cool weather climbing layer, and the cut is not restricting - plus it is stretchy where it needs to be. This is a piece that I feel everyone can find a use for. For me, it's a go-to climbing piece that I can layer under a bigger puffy or just use by itself, and then easily head to the pub or grocery store after and wear as a stand alone layer. Packs down to nothing, looks slick, and is comfortable to wear. Massive fan!!

This iteration of the Atom SL is my favorite yet, and I have already used it for a variety of activities including scrambling, hiking, ski mountaineering, and even travel. That said, it is a niche piece and it's worth understanding what it is: 1. I think of this as a lightly insulated windshell. Fantastic for changing conditions, windy ridgelines, and that little bit of needed warmth while still moving or transitioning. 2. The hood is now an under-helmet fit. Some people prefer the wider storm hood, but I like this version and have tucked it under my rock/ski helmets as well as into the zipped jacket itself when I want it out of the way. 3. This is NOT your emergency puffy/warm piece, unless it's high summer. The insulation is quite light and only in the torso. To me, this is a huge advantage - I can carry something that covers a broad range of conditions, especially when paired with a Nuclei + hardshell for a full system of warmth and protection in alpine environments. Just don't buy this thinking it is your workhorse puffy piece for all situations. Overall, the new Atom SL is a great example of the type of piece Arc'teryx does best, high-performing and versatile in alpine environments, light and packable, trustworthy and always at hand.

Not as happy with the redesigned Atom SL, bought one 2 years ago that I love and is perfect, this one not so much. It feels flimsier and the cut is not as comfortable. Sleeves are thin and not as wind resistant as before

This is my first Atom SL hoody, and I'm realy impressed. I have had Atom LT hoody since 2010, and I love this jacket. Atom SL has a perfect fit, and is a great all year jacket. It fits really great under other jackets, and can be used as a outer jacket. Atom SL will be my favorite jacket.

Same sizing as atom and atom lt. but the opening in the arms at the wrist are bigger and wider than the other atom jacket. Big enough that it become at irritation for more

This is the 3rd Atom hoody for me, just an amazing versatile insulated layer for anything and any season. It's also stylish for casual use. Super light but very very durable. I hope Arcteryx will never stop producing it!

This is a super lightweight, breathable jacket with just the right amount of insulation. Size a full size down, though. A small Atom SL fits the same as my medium Proton LT, Practitioner, and a number of other Arcteryx jackets.

I LOVE this jacket so much that I have it in blue and black. Extremely light and so comfortable. The blue is such an electric cool blue. What I like best is that it'll hang over your pants and doesnt have much elastic at the bottom which is great. Arcteryx is finally making products that fit more than anorexic people. Thank you!

Sehr angenehm zu tragen. Die Jacke ist gerade für schweiztreibende Aktivitäten, wie bei schnellen Zustiegen oder beim klettern auf Graten bei nicht zu kalten Temperaturen perfekt.

Ich nutze diesen Hoody Sommer wie Winter als Isolationsjacke. Wer im Sommer ein leichts Iso-Teil dabei haben will ist hier bestens beraten, superleicht und warm genug, auch auf Hochtouren. Ichvfriere nicht leicht und so reicht mir der Hoody auch im Winter unter meiner Alpha AR

This is a fantastic piece of outdoor kit. My wife had one and I was so impressed with it that I bought one too. It is very light and easy to carry, but it offers remarkable wind and weather protection and is more than enough over a simple base layer during activities. It is also very comfortable to wear. Only small negative is that it does not offer 'stuff into pocket' option I am likely to be buying another in a different colour as it is so useful.

After wanting to try the SL for awhile, I finally decided to pull the trigger when they released the “Tatsu” colorway. I’ve had it for a couple of months now wearing it in various weather and climates. Overall I found the jacket to be “meh”. Breathability is kind of lacking, and gets hot pretty quickly. Which is good because it can be worn for colder weather than advertised but bad because it can’t really be worn for the climate it’s was designed for; summer and fall. Although I haven’t damaged it (or maybe used it hard enough?) the fabric feels super delicate, but I feel thats the drawback for how light it is. Which it absolutely is, it’s super light and packable which is awesome. Lastly, i’m 5’10” and 200lbs, with broad shoulders and bigger arms and the Large size fits tight. Length is good but it’s as if it was designed for the lanky folk. So if you’re on the bigger size or bodybuild like I do, I recommend sizing up. TLDR; warmer than expected and breathability sucks. At least it’s light. Size up recommended . Kind of “meh”.

Hi, this product is a must buy for me . I bought it before my trip to wales in august and since then I’ve been on multiple climbs where it had poured with rain and the jacket has kept me warm and and dry for the whole time . The durability is immense as it can withstand so much more than described . I am very impressed with how it held up again storms when climbing snow don on multiple occasions . Highly recommend this item . The only thing I would like that could improve this piece of clothing is if it had a little inside pocket which would be perfect for a protein bar or phone . Probably my all time favorite jacket. It's super packable and I bring it almost everywhere. Light enough for warm but windy nights, also warm enough for very chilly ones. I do usually run very hot, and this is just enough to keep me from getting cold in most situations besides in snow/freezing/downpours.
