Question 1

Is this the warmest down jacket from arcteryx or how does it compare to other models? I’m looking for something really warm as single payer without additional layers

Amelie, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for your question. The Ifora Down Jacket is one of our warmer women's lifestyle down jackets and is designed to provide excellent warmth for everyday cold-weather use. It features 850 fill European goose down for premium warmth plus synthetic insulation in moisture heavy areas. That said, certain expedition-focused parkas like the Liatris Down would generally provide a higher level of insulation. The Ifora Down Jacket will offer substantial warmth for daily use, but your comfort will ultimately depend on factors such as temperature, wind, activity level, and personal preference. We hope it helps!

Question 2

Does it cinch at the bottom?

River, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for your question! Yes, the Ifora Down Jacket does feature an adjustable drawcord at the hem. We hope this helps.

Question 3

Hello Leung, to wash the Ifora Down Jacket, we ideally recommend using a cleaning detergent made specifically for technical down products like the Nu Down Detergent. Visit our ReCARE page for more information on product care. https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/help/product-care/wash-dry-down/

Question 6

Hi! How does it compare to the men's Sorin Down Jacket in terms of warmth? Since I'll be going to Northern Europe in early November, do you have any recommendations for clothing choices?

River · Accepted Answer

Hello there, the Sorin Down Jacket has a significantly higher down fill weight (248.64g) compared to the Ifora Down Jacket (114.91g). The Sorin Down Jacket will provide more warmth due to its higher fill weight and would be a better choice for colder temperatures, like those in Northern Europe in early November. For your trip, layering is key. Please visit our Layering Guide to find out which products will suit you best: https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/shop/layering-guide

Question 7

Question 8

Is the IFORA down jacket suitable for snowboarding and skiing? It’s -35 where I am and I’d like to buy a multi purpose and stylish coat that I can ski in as well as look good in and not have to wear so many layers under. Is this the right coat for that?

River · Accepted Answer

Hello there, the Ifora Down Jacket was not designed around skiing and snowboarding. Although, we think you could use it for skiing/snowboarding if you do not mind not having the snowsports features, such as a powder skirt, RECCO® reflector, ski pass pocket and more. It is also important to note that the Ifora Down Jacket face fabric is not as durable/abrasion resistant as our ski jackets. As warmth is subjective, we do not advertise degree ratings for our products. The Ifora Down jacket is a down insulated garment, meaning it provides highly efficient natural insulation that compacts well and offers excellent warmth to weight. Down insulation is a great choice in cold, dry conditions and for lower output activities. Even though it's one of our warmest Veilance jacket, you might have to layer underneath on very cold days.

Question 9

Hello, what is the amount of down fill in this jacket? How warm is it compared to the Liatris and Patera?

Jimmy · Accepted Answer

Hello there. The Ifora Down Jacket has 108.7 grams of 850-fill European grey goose down. We would say the Ifora will be the warmest of the 3 jackets mentioned. The Liatris Jacket uses 92.9 grams of 850-fill European grey goose down, and the Patera Parka uses 62.1 grams of 750-fill European goose down. The Ifora having the highest down content naturally will make it the warmest jacket of the 3.

Question 10

Hi! I am interested In the VESTE EN DUVET IFORA FEMME. Can you please let me know the maximum negative temperature it can withstand? Thank you.

River · Accepted Answer

Hello there, as warmth is subjective, we do not advertise degree ratings for our products. There are a number of factors to consider while rating our equipment that hinder our ability to provide a generalized warmth rating suitable for all. With that being said, the Ifora Down Jacket has 850 down fill insulation, providing highly efficient natural insulation with a great warmth to weight ratio. Down insulation is a great choice in cold, dry conditions.
