Question 1

Usage - I am looking for warm, durable and not so bulky gloves. Can I use these gloves for Toronto winter for dog walking for long duration ? I am hoping they endure the leash pull.

Blake · Accepted Answer

Hello Simi, thank you for your question—comfort, warmth, and durability are all important considerations for winter use. The Venta Glove is designed as a lightweight, breathable softshell glove intended for high-output activities such as hiking or running in cool conditions, where moisture management and dexterity are priorities. While it offers wind resistance and moderate warmth, it is not insulated to the level typically required for prolonged exposure in colder, static conditions like Toronto winter dog walking, especially over longer durations. For your needs, we would recommend exploring a more insulated glove option, such as the Fission SV Glove, which provides greater warmth and durability for extended time outdoors in colder temperatures. https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/shop/fission-sv-glove-9939

Question 3

Can this glove be used for skiing?

Austin · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Venta Glove was designed to be a lightweight, windproof, breathable, weather-resistant GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ gloves for use during high output activities like cross-country skiing, winter trail runs, and cold-weather hikes. With that being said, you can certainly use this pair of gloves for cross-country skiing.

Question 5

Are the venta gloves vegan?

Dave · Accepted Answer

Hello there

Arc'teryx strives to continually become more aware of and sensitive to the environmental impact of our business practices. We evaluate our processes and continually implement new strategies to improve efficiencies and minimize our ecological footprint.

To learn more about the steps we take to protect the environment, visit our Sustainability page.

It is highly unlikely that animal by-products are contained in the majority of Arc’teryx products excluding down, wool, and leather products. However, with the complexity of apparel and footwear supply chains, we unfortunately cannot guarantee this. In order to make an evidence-based claim, this would require a full chemical analysis on each component within each of our products (i.e. adhesives, foam, fabric, thread, trims, colorants etc).

The strength of our materials compliance program is focused on risk management using the Bluesign system to define which chemicals are safe to use in our products and how to guide our suppliers to safer alternatives. Arc’teryx takes a proactive and science-based approach to manage the chemistry in our products in order to achieve the levels of performance and durability we demand.

We will continue to explore ways to provide assurances for vegan alternatives.

Question 6

What is the warmth rating (0-10) for this glove? Thanks

Dave · Accepted Answer

Hello there,

The Venta Glove features a fleeced interior that adds light warmth. That said, we do not rate our garments for temperature as there are too many factors that influence this result from person to person.

Thanks for reaching out, and if you have any other questions be sure to give our Customer Service Line a call or fill out a Contact Us Form.

Question 7

Hello Arc'Teryx,

Do you advise re-applying DWR with a spray-on for these Venta GoreTex Infinium gloves? How would that impact breathability of the glove?

Larry · Accepted Answer

Hello Alexis,

The Nu Durable Water Repellant is a spray-on fabric treatment designed for use on Gore-Tex waterproof fabrics. While it can be used on garments such as the Venta Glove, it will not be as effective when used on Gore-Tex Infinium fabrics that are not designed to be waterproof.

The face fabric of the Venta Glove is not designed to have the same level of water resistance as the face fabrics on Gore-Tex waterproof garments, that said using the spray on the Venta Glove will not have an impact on breathability.

Thanks for reaching out, and if you have any other questions be sure to give our Customer Service Line a call or fill out a Contact Us Form.

Question 10

Hi there,

What temperature would you say these keep hands warm to? Looking for something for the Canadian winters, so would need something that covers from 0 degrees celsius to -30 celsius. If not these, is there another you'd recommend?

Reggie · Accepted Answer

Hi Ken,

Thanks for reaching out.

The Venta Glove combines water resistance with a windproof layer, making these gloves ideal for high output cold-weather activities.

Generally, Arc'teryx does not provide temperature ratings on products as this is a very individual question, however, if you are looking for gloves suitable to -30 there may be some more suitable items.

Some possible alternatives that are more suited to colder temperatures would be the Fission SV Gloves or Mittens, or the Alpha SV Mitten as these are all intended for severe cold weather use.

As always, our Customer Support Team is here to help with any further questions you may have. 1-866-458-2473
