What can I say. It’s expensive, but it’s worth it! This is the finest made and best fitting hard shell money can buy. I love the collar and hood that’s connected at a lower point

This $750 jacket is under a year old and completely falling apart. It appears all the seams are coming un-done and unraveling into a nasty mess. Acrteryx wants me to send the item back with no guarantee of repair, cost, timeline. As it will be an international shipment the whole process could take weeks if not months. I need the jacket for multiple upcoming trips and would never expect a $750 jacket to fall apart so quickly. I expected alot more from this company in regards to customer service for an obvious manufactures defect, especially considering the cost of this jacket. Don't waste your time buying anything Arcteryx.

What a wonderful jacket. Fit's perfectly, comfortable over a T-shirt with room for layering with a sweater without feeling overly full. Perfect to throw over a shirt and tie when dressed up, giving great protection from the elements while carrying itself well in a more formal business environment. Waterproof coverage at it's best! I feel I could tighten down the zippers and hood and walk under a waterfall with confidence. Also, Arcteryx is the best when it comes to customer service and standing behind their products. It may seem on the expensive side, but this is truly one case in which you get what you pay for. I couldn't be happier!

If you looked up "Happy Arc'teryx customer" in the dictionary you should see my face. I love my Arc'teryx products. I purchased my first shell about ten years ago and used it for many outdoor activities, in all seasons and took it around the world. When it finally began showing its age (a zipper pulled loose from the outer shell) I sent it to Arc'teryx, and they sent me a voucher which paid for the majority of my new Beta AR. I love my Beta AR. It is waterproof and fits so well I rarely realize I am wearing it. I use it for skiing, Cross Country skiing, mountain biking, hiking, attending football games, golf and kayaking. This year I also purchased a spring coat from Arc'teryx for those days when I do not need to break out my Beta AR. A great company with incredible products

I have no owned the Beta AR for over a year and I could not be happier with it! I’ve used the jacket for hiking, an entire ski season (apre and off piste) and around town and it has been perfect for all activities. I was hesitant at first due to the price but for the quality I would 100% recommend, after every was the jacket comes out like new.

J'utilise cette veste depuis plusieurs années. Elle me convient dasn toutes situations : randonnée, promenade du chien sous averses et ski en toutes conditions métérologiques ! Un seul petit reproche : la tirette n'a pas de blocage et en cas de vent elle bouge contre le visage

best shell I have ever had by far. The gore, materials, zippers, are simply superior. It is a little big!! If you're buying for city use only, maybe a size smaller would be better.

I love Arc'teryx but had a problem with this purchase. I ordered a Men's large but was shipped a Womans Large. I have shipped the jacket back to Arc'teryx and will be purchasing the proper sized jacket once my refund has been received. The folks in Customer Service have been outstanding to work with

I have owned two Beta AR Jackets, but both had zipper issues after about 4,5 years of what i consider normal use. As long as the zippers don't break down , there ok, but be warned....

J'ai un Beta AR depuis plus de 10 ans et j'ai toujours adoré ce produit. Aujourd'hui j'en ai un nouveau, car la fermeture s'était brisée. Le nouveau produit est aussi très bien, mais je constate que les grandeurs ont été revues. Si mon ancien modèle était parfait pour moi (modèles de 2012 et 2016), celui-ci est plus grand et de façon importante. Vu ma petite taille, j'ai toujours utilisé un XS, mais même celui-là est grand. Je recommande de l'essayer avant tout! Aussi, il serait bien qu'il y ait une version "longue" et une version "courte".

Purchased a couple of weeks ago and came in handy for our recent bad weather. Great quality and fit for a person 6ft in height.

First, I will say that that the fit and color are great. While functional for a time, the jacket is however not durable or made to last. At all. Within just a couple years of spending almost $600 for the jacket, it started delaminating in small areas. Despite what I would describe as normal/intended use (several backpacking and ski trips along with some casual wear for rain/snow) and washing it with Nickwax Techwash, the jacket continued to fall apart. After 5 years, multiple areas of interior seam tape were literally hanging inside, so I sent it in for repair. I was told it was beyond its “practical lifespan” and therefore could not be repaired, and I was offered a gift card at 20% of its retail toward another item. When asked whether this is to be reasonably expected from such a supposedly high end piece of gear that cost nearly $600, I was told that it’s deterioration was due to “contamination”(??), presumably from normal wear and extended exposure to body sweat and therefore the fault of the customer for not cleaning it enough. This is very disappointing and frankly insulting. After reading comments here and elsewhere, it seems Arc’teryx is aware of the flaws in this 3 layer laminate technology and instead of taking greater ownership and standing by their very expensive and supposedly high end products, they have instead chosen to push the issue off on customers. Poor quality. Avoid.

I cannot recommend buying any Arc'teryx jacket, especially not in the high price range. After three years of use and careful care, my Beta AR developed Gore Delamination (blistering of the Gore membrane) throughout the jacket. It took Arc'teryx customer care over six weeks to evaluate and to let me know the jacket has reached its end of life. I have had a similar experience with two previous Alpha SV jackets. Choose another brand if you want a product with a long life. I will never rebuy Arc'teryx.

Vraiment pratique pour les randonnées, le ski ou même la ville.

I just received this jacket a week or two ago but already can tell you it is a great "All Around" Jacket. We have had the craziest weather on the East Coast this year with Rain one day and a day or two later brutal cold. This jacket has proven itself already re Waterproof, the perfect match with a Alpha AR Mid Layer and that collar....works really well and keeps the wind out.

I got this jacket as a warranty replacement to my jacket I bought in 2009. My old one lasted about ten years and only had a neck seam issue. It beaded water just fine and I loved it. The replacement was extremely disappointing and I didn't even want to wear it much. It got soaked through quickly and the seams fell apart way faster than my original. I didn't use it for strenuous activities and it wasn't even my daily jacket because I bought one that performed significantly better. Sad to say that Arc'Teryx build quaility went downhill a lot in the last ten years. If you have an older Arc'teryx jacket (when they were made in Canada or even up to late 2000s) I'd recommend doing the seam repairs on your own and don't replace it via the warranty. The new ones aren't up to snuff. I have several Arc'teryx backpacks and their Ski Jacket and Pants that are well over 10 years old and they still look brand new, so I think it is something wrong with this particular product line. I heard that the waterproofing materials all companies use now are more environmentally friendly, which is good, but don't expect $600 of performance out of this particular product.

From the choice of colours I wanted a black one thought I wouldn’t mind the dark blue but didn’t like it at all I sent it back and am now hoping a black one comes available soon

J’hésitais depuis quelque années à me commander le beta AR. Mon hésitation était surtout au niveau du prix par rapport à toutes les possibilités sur le Marché. Je suis à 100% satisfait et mes attente étaient hautes! Tel que mentionné dans plusieurs commentaires, il est fait grand car, c’est pour faire un système multi-couche.

I have other Arc'teryx products and absolutely love them. I now need a gore-tex pro jacket, so went for the Beta AR and got the same size that I always use with their products. The sleeves are just huge. I dont get why there is so much difference with other products. I've read reviews like this before and thought it was an exaggeration but honestly it is truly like that. With this jacket, either you are a "standard' fit or you will be in between sizes with awkward features. Don't get why there is so much difference for jackets from the same brand. I am now returning it and will need to look at other brands.

I bought the jacket for back country skiing and hiking. Was out already on very wet day and it kept me warm and dry. Pockets allow for easy venting when needed.

Bombproof outer shell. Pro fabric breathes great. Durable and confidence inspiring, relatively light and packable.

Bought early December. After 6 days, already small tear I too of front pocket. While NYC store fixed for free, this material is not durable enough for backcountry skiing. Had last AR jacket for 10 years. Disappointed so far.

This seemed up to par overall with ARC’TERYX shells, quality wise. But, I had to return since the arms were extremely long. 5’11” standard ape index and the sleeves were at my fingertips in size L. The neck also seemed kind of stiff and may be a comfort issue with climbing. Also dinging a star since I emailed CS and never heard back, and for the price, the inventory should def have more items in stock.

A superbly designed jacket, it has everything one needs. A high price point but you get what you pay for, in this an deal product that should (with proper care) last for many many years.
