Question 1

I asked on the small bird hat product page, but will also ask here: Does this version allow the strap to neatly tuck in to the internal sleeve? Or is it a different design so the strap doesn't flail around like the previous design?

Rick, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello there, thank you for your question. The current version of the Bird Word Cap still includes an internal sleeve that allows the adjustment strap to be tucked away for a cleaner look when not in use. The strap management feature has not been removed, so you can still secure the excess strap rather than having it hang loose. We hope this helps.

Question 2

River, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Question 3

Does the hat have a uv rating?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Mike, thanks for reaching out. UPF ratings require sufficient coverage to be meaningful. Caps such as the Bird Word Cap do not provide the same level of coverage as bucket hats, so they are not rated. The Sinsolo Bucket Hat is currently the only headwear with a UPF rating (UPF 50+). We hope this helps!

Question 4

Hi, what are the measurements for this cap for size x/xl? What's the depth and front to back length, thanks!

Hi there, thank you for reaching out. Here are the key measurements for the Bird Word Cap in size L-XL:

Hat Across Depth: 32.6cm
Hat Top Length (center front to center back - excluding the back opening): 30.4cm
Hat Bottom Circumference: 60cm

We hope this helps!

Question 5

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Question 6

Is this hat UV protective? I’m bald and need sunprotection.

River · Accepted Answer

Hello there, the Bird Word Cap is not UPF-rated, meaning it hasn’t been tested or certified for sun protection. While its 100% polyester construction may offer some basic UV resistance, it doesn't guarantee adequate coverage, especially important if you need reliable sun protection.

Question 7

Is the hat unstructured or structured?

Sophie · Accepted Answer

Hi Jesse, thanks for your question! This cap is crafted from Circuit™ stretch polyester. While the fabric itself has some stretch, the panel and front of the cap are the most structured elements, providing support and shape. The rest, however, remains relatively unstructured for a more relaxed fit. We hope this helps!

Question 8

Is birdword cup the successor of calidum 5 panel hat ?

Dave · Accepted Answer

Hi Paolo, great question! The Bird Word Cap is not a replacement of the Calidum 5 Panel Hat as they feature different materials and construction.

Question 9

How can this cap be cleaned? The instructions state that it can neither be washed nor dry cleaned.

Sophie · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for your question! This cap is surface clean only. You can use water, or a mild soap or detergent if needed. For marks, gently scrub with a sponge or damp cloth. Be sure to rinse the area thoroughly to remove any residue. We hope this helps.

Question 10

Is the polyester bluesign compliant or recycled or anything sustainable?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Circuit™ stretch polyester used on the Bird Word Cap is a bluesign® approved material. The cap also features a PFAS-free DWR. We hope this helps!
