Kyanite Hoody Herren

Do NOT Buy!! After 4 months and wearing it 4 times (no washing). Severe pilling. Called customer service, was told that is normal and I should buy a pilling shaver. Arcteryx what is wrong with you, its obvious its bad material. Going back to MEC

This hoody is 5 stars out of the box, in theory I absolutely love it. Perfect cut, perfect fit, very comfortable, warm. Basically my dream hoodie. BUT, it has one fatal flaw: the external surface is SUPER fragile and prone to piling. After only a few months of casual wear and minimal washing, hang dry, it is piling in multiple places, most notably on the back of the sleeves for some reason. I am a technical fleece addict, I have multiple other pieces I use for outdoor actives, this one was purchased for casual wear. Now I feel like it is grubby and worn-out looking because of the piling, my dream has been destroyed. This is especially annoying because I was trying to buy this hoody for over a year while it was out of stock waiting for a refresh. In my opinion, this level of fragility is unacceptable in such an expensive garment. However, it doesn't have to be this way, for example I had a kyanite LT that survived 1 year plus of MANY washes before it even began to show signs the smallest signs of piling. I had a MEC technical fleece that survived years of washes and hard use without ever piling at all. I think the textile engineers need to go back to the drawing board with this fabric. In summary, on paper this is the perfect hoodie of my dreams, but it gets 1 star due to lack of durability of the outer surface. What a shame :(

This was my favorite jacket when it was tech wool. But they've replaced that with a generic fleece and still charge $200 for it.

exceptionnel, je ne la quitte pas. Je la porte super souvent, le rapport poids/chaleur est juste fou. La coupe est parfaite et la capuche parfaitement ajusté, elle suit les mouvements de la tête et s'enfile parfaitement. Je recommande, c'est un achat que je ne regrette pas!

A very comfortable and stylish fleece jacket. Perfect amount of stretch and nice warmth/wieght ratio. On the negative side I bought mine about a week before changes were made to the pocket lining so on my model the lining hangs out when it's not zipped - looks like they fixed this. The material also has a weird chemical smell that has not washed out in 3 washes. (Not sure if they fixed that.) Still dig it for practical use.

El polar está muy bien , también es caro pero es muy cómodo abriga bien y es bastante elástico lo único es bastante corto de cuerpo(64 ,5 para la talla s) es verdad que la talla s tiene el nuevo ajuste y soy nuevo en la marca, el cuello abriga bien y la capulla es muy elástica y cubre las orejas un poco más larga sería perfecta

Warm, very comfortable, great hood, fits nicely, face fabric is excellent, zipper quality on this piece is good! Tried it out with a thin baselayer around 0c and it did a great job keeping me warm. Picked one up 20% below rrp. Impressed!

Love this piece! Curious if you will bring back the Kyanite Hoody Light? (I like the thinner and slimmer fit). For years it has been my go to for cragging or simply hanging our around town or at home. I have two but they're getting a bit worn and would love to get some new ones! Thanks!

Nice and cozy. But not warm enough for cold weather. Wonderful color.

I already had the LT version of the Kyanite and wanted a warmer option for chillier days outside and to wear around the house. So far, I really like it! Very comfy and warm, layers great under my Atom LT or a shell. Only washed it once but no problems with pilling or deformation.

Hoody vraiment polyvalent! La qualité est là comme d’habitude. Dispendieux pour ce type de vêtement, mais vous l’aurez pour longtemps ! Idéal au quotidien avec le temps froid qui arrive rapidement.

Absolutely one of my all time favorite items. Utterly soft, deliciously warm, and easily packable, this is an ideal four-seasons companion. I was really sad to discover mine just disappeared from under my Kitchen Sink lid somewhere between the restaurant and the airport in of all places Singapore, where it was the perfect packable antidote to overachieving aircon. Gotta replace it, heading back to chilly Germany. Nothing else will do! That’s why I’m back at the Arcteryx site. Can’t believe there aren’t more glowing testimonials for this fabulous hoodie!

I use this product during cooler temps before an activity or after. The soft fabric heats me up to a cozy temp which is appreciated during cool mornings or evenings. It doesn't feel too fitted and looks casual without being too technical. So I wear it in the city or on trail. Because its thinner but still has some weight to it I don't mind packing it in a small bag. This is also a great backcountry ski layer for cool/dry days and the hood has enough space to go over a hat.

This is the standard for a warm fleece hoody: zipper goes up to my chin; zippered pockets; NO drawstring-just a snug hoody. I can't think of a CON except for price and that's expected for this brand. A size S and I'm 5'6", 160lbs; fits snug which is what I like.

I own (literally) 7 or 8 of these - arguably the single favorite item of clothing I’ve ever purchased. Why only 3 stars? Because when I purchased one from this year’s lineup there were several changes that make it inferior to the older styles of this same garment. 1. The pocket zippers are now stiff and less comfortable, with smaller pull tabs and no paracord grips. 2. The pockets are no longer lined on one side with fleece. 3. The inner pocket (that is ideal for storing a small wallet or ID) is now just…gone. No more interior pocket! 4. The whole garment feels slightly but noticeably thinner and less substantial. If Arc’teryx could do one thing, I implore them to go back to the original version of this formerly amazing fleece. I will be returning this one.

My wife’s first top from Arcteryx and not a good start, purchased 4 days ago and worn once and heavily warn and piled at the back, at this price this is not good enough. Will be in touch with you and the shop

I preferred older model, where the pocket zipper war sewn in. The new, glued zipper is too stiff for my comfort. And I feel bad with this change because it used to be my favourite blouse model and I'm slowly running out of my copies.

Most comfortable anything I have ever owned. I have 6 fleece and they are all mostly retired now, except for my lightweight Mountain Hardwear. I hit the trails 6 days a week and have used it every day out since late fall. Used as mid layer or top layer. As I also workout during hikes, I wash it weekly and have zero issues with stretching/ shrinking/ pilling. Love my Atom mid, but this beats it too.

I purchased the kyanite vest a last year and was so amazed by both its comfort and versatility. It is the most comfortable fleece out there bar none!! It works really well as a stretchy mid layer. The fabric is warm and thin and the inside face is extremely soft. This year I decided to purchased a hoodie version as well. Unfortunately some of the updates I’m not thrilled with. The new coil zippers “which always break” are small and get stuck and the zipper pulls are tiny and have strange elongated tips to them. The old version had the much stronger and smoother vislon styled zippers as well as rounded metal pulls with paracord extensions. The old combination was so much better. I would also critique the side pockets. I can appreciate the effort to reduce weight and streamline the garment however the material for the welded seams is stiff and keep the pockets from laying flat. I would rather have the pockets sewn into the side seam like on the previous model. Lastly I’d like to address the pilling of these garments. No doubt about it if these fabrics get pilling on them especially when exposed to strap, belts, rubbing or abrasive surfaces. But if used as a mid layer you can primarily mitigate that. With that being said, I would rather have this level of comfort, than to have a thicker anti-abrasive surface that makes the jacket stiffer and less comfortable. Lastly bring back the olive/brown or similar earth tones. Thanks for your continued efforts in making quality garments!

Pretty much the perfect fleece hoody. I’ve been wearing fleece for decades. This is 10/10 is every way. The best I’ve ever had.
