This hoody is so warm, comfortable, and looks great. It is perfect for low output activities in cold weather. It light for the amount of warmth it provides, but it is not a light layer. Best as a base layer for easy hikes, resort skiing, or just for wearing around the city.

The ideal hoody!

The Kyanite hoody has been my favorite addition to my Fall wardrobe. This hoody is incredibly soft, light and absolutely warm. I wear it as a base layer under many Arc shells, it just pairs well. When outdoor bouldering during chilly Fall/Winter months or camping days/evenings year round I find it most useful but the Kyanite hoody also gets frequent wear not just for outdoor recreation. I'm looking to buy multiple colors!

This layer is warm and stretchy enough to wear under a hardshell jacket for ice climbing, and it doesn't seem to pick up odor too quickly. It is also comfortable enough to wear everyday!

Good but could be better

I bought this hoody as I was looking for something very warm and stretchy for hiking and trekking. I have it over 2 years and I am using it ~1-2 times a month. During the first year it was all perfect. But after two years the quality of the product dropped a lot.

Best coat ever!

I originally bought this coat a year ago and loved it! It was nice because it wasn't too tight on the arms when I wore a sweater underneath. I left it in a taxi on the way to the airport when I was visiting Finland and almost cried! I was so happy that I was able to replace it. It's by far my favorite coat ever.

Nice fleece but style didn’t work for me

I have a kyanite hoody that’s several years old. It’s a medium and a bit big and I would say I almost always end up in a size small in jackets and pullovers in Arc’Teryx so I decided to order a small this time around. It did fit but they have changed the pockets so the zipper is more rigid. I have bigger boobs (34DD). The rigidity of the material around the zipper basically wouldn’t allow it to follow the curve of my body and it essentially caused the fabric to pucker out below my chest in a strange and unflattering way. Sizing up *might* have solved that problem but I think it would then be too big. The green is gorgeous in person and the fleece interior was super soft. The current version just didn’t quite work for my body.

Disappointed

Love the fit, warmth, and feel of the fabric BUT it has pilled after only owning it for 3 weeks.
At a 240.00 price point this is EXTREMELY disappointing and unexpected from a company that prides itself on quality and performance.

Inferior Fabric

My partner bought the Kyanite after I recommended it, having owned one for the past 4 years. A few weeks later she complained that it was not very warm. Strange, I thought, as mine is very warm. I examined her garment and realised that her fabric was much thinner than the fabric used in my Kyanite. She also complained about serious pilling (formation of fuzzy balls) on the arms which has never happened to mine. The pilling makes the hoody look old and worn out. When she took it to the store on West St in Vancouver she was told that the issue with the arms was not covered under warranty.
Why has Arc'teryx shifted to a much thinner and clearly more inferior fabric?

J’ai l’ancien modèle 2023.
Le medium n’est plus ma taille ( fait légèrement plus petit) et que dire des attaches zip de poche = cheap et difficile à ouvrir. J’ai rapporté en magasin. Large était trop grand.
Vraiment dommage ces révisions. Les couleurs sont toutefois magnifique :(

Soft and Cozy!

Absolutely love the soft and cozy fabric. The sleeves are the perfect fit, neither too short nor too long. When zipped all the way up, it hugs the body just the right amount and is surprisingly quite warm.

I don't like fleece, and I love this fleece

I wore this as my middle layer all ski season last year and it changed my layering system for cool days (0 to -20C or so). I normally wear a Proton Lightweight or similar for bc skiing, but find the Kyanite to be a really nice alternative for those warmer winter temps with just a synthetic T underneath. Fit is also really nice and it's super comfy and soft.

I really like adding this layer to my system when it's very cold. The cut of it is very comfortable to layer, I barely notice it - it doesn't feel bulky like fleece layers often can. On milder days, it's a perfect stand-alone layer instead of a sweatshirt. It's warm, comfortable and flattering.

Bring back the old fit!

I bought the Wander (mustard) colour a couple years ago and it was my all-time favourite fleece. It was comfortable, warm, nice and long in the arms and body, had a great fitting collar and hood, and was such an amazing colour. I went to buy a new one and am so disappointed that the fit has changed: the arms are shorter and the cut in the body is slightly cinched in around the hips/bottom. Length in the arms is required when skiing, mountain biking, etc. — why on earth would you shorten the arms?? The new fit is certainly not as practical or flattering. Please bring back the old fit.

Great Piece - NOT Warm

I bought this piece to serve as a heavy midlayer for alpine skiing on the coldest days. It feels more like a summer weight "sweatshirt" that is not very warm. I will use it for an outer layer for summer mountain adventures. And maybe a mid layer for fall hikes. But this was marketed as heavy weight, so I am a little disappointed that I've been left shivering in a few super cold (and active) situations. That being said, it does have it's good qualities. It breathes really, really well. The fit is fantastic. And it is very soft and comfortable. For reference, I'm 5'5" with a 33" chest and 26" waist. The XS is perfect and the color is great. I'd just use it for temperatures in the 40s-50s, not the teens.

Warm and light

I bought this as the only hoodie/warm under layer on a trip across 4 continents and it was PERFECT. It is light and thin so it can pack up quite small but it is fleece on the inside so it's warm and cozy. I feel it was dirt repellent as well as it never looked dirty despite being through a lot. It's starting to pill a tiny bit but that's after lots of wear. Highly recommend!

Fabulous Jacket!

Love this coat! But I did not realize that the trim was black, instead of the matching colour, Vitality. I hope the next time they make this, it is with the matching trim like the other colours. It keeps the jacket more classic instead of trendy.

This is my second purchase in a different colour. I purchased the Edziza and Black Sapphire colours in a size small. Note, I am 5’2”, 130lbs. I love the fit and feel. They are my absolute go to for any training warm-up, wearing as a mid-layer and for casual wear. I absolutely love and recommend this full zip hoody.
Purchasing online was seamless and easy. The product was delivered in a very timely manner. Overall, I am pleased.

Pilling Like Crazy!

Functional this product is warm and comfy. Though about a month after I received it, one side and arm have extreme pilling. I don’t wear often or use it with anything else to warrant that much pilling. Support was unhelpful and told me it’s because it’s been washed, used to much, this is expected with the fabric and to buy a fabric pill shaver. For a product that’s this much and this new it’s unacceptable.

A bit disappointing…

I purchased this item around 3 years ago now I think? I’ll be honest, this thing is uber warm, and the dye has stayed pure black, so 5-stars on those fronts, but it’s also pilled so so badly, and the arms have permanent deep wrinkles in them, which started at the first few wears. It now looks quite awful, so I only wear it to bed, and under my other layers on super cold days, but wouldn’t wear in public any longer. I’m looking to purchase a smaller size, but don’t think I’d invest in a replacement at this point given my experience.

Confortable et attention à la bonne grandeur

J'ai acheté le Kyanite grandeur XSmall. Avant, habituellement je prennais toujours grandeur small et quelques fois du médium mais avec ce Hoody, le Xsmall est la bonne taille pour moi et il n'est pas trop ajusté car j'aime ça un petit peu lousse. Donc pour moi, j'ai pris un point plus petit de d'habitude. Je mesure 5'5 et je pèse 127 lbs

Poor quality

I bought this two weeks ago and was immensely disappointed with the quality. We have been Arc'teryx customers for years. The overall quality has been spiraling downwards. No longer is this a brand that I turn to, which is sad because I have always been a fan. If you took the logo off, it could be on the racks at a cheap discount store.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I bought this jacket for my daughter for Christmas. It was on her wish list!
She loved it! She said the fabric is soft and just the right weight. It was very stylish and slim looking.

We went to store and found this gem, but unfortunately they don't have size XXS (it's quite normal they don't have it in store), so we went online and purchased one, the overall quality is still superb as usual, looks sleek and perfect to be a middle layer.
