Worse than the old model. Craft of 2000s throwback

The biggest problem is that, in the push for an ever larger and louder logo, they moved it from the subtle, easily-folded spot near the neck to the most eye-catching position, right on the forehead. They also replaced the heat-printed logo with a permanent embroidered one. To make this work, they added an embroidery stabiliser (a tearable and non-elastic patch) on the back of the fabric to keep the stitching steady on the stretch material. But this means that whenever I wear the mask, I can feel that unnecessarily and pointless thickened logo with the patch together pressing against my head (and I’m not bald). The sensation becomes even more noticeable when I put on a helmet. This change is great for the logo and terrible for me. I don't need the logo and don't care if it is cracked or peeled. Please don't fix what isn't broken. I hope arcteryx could bring back what are performance oriented.

Never leave home without it!

Perfect for cold weather cycling! Easily fits under a helmet. Warm. Stays put. Wicks moisture. Versatile front opening from under chin to below the eyes. I wear a second layer (beanie or 2nd light balaclava) on super cold & windy days. Get one, or even two, for your rotation! An all sport must have!

Lightweight but warm hood. Very nicely made and the wool isn't itchy, although I don't usually like wool on my skin. I already love it because it's big enough to wear over a light peaked cap. A fantastic accessory, even for the city

Soft and cozy but needs ponytail hole!!

Tried all of last season to get one of these in a colour besides black, and finally succeeded! The interstellar colour is great! A little more of a plum shade than it appears online. Love the rho fabric as an alternative to merino (which irritates my face). Size SM fits great for someone who wears a size M helmet. Moisture wicking seems good and it feels cozy. Knocked off a star because there is no ponytail hole - other brands do this, why can’t Arc’teryx??

Light, non-itchy layer for most conditions

I bought one for myself and one for my partner. This balaclava is lightweight, non-itchy and quick-drying. I have used it in backcountry and resort conditions ranging from -20c to +5c. You just forget it's there. I did cut a little hole in the back of mine along the seam to pull my ponytail through so it doesn't wrap around my neck and make me feel like I'm being slowly strangled by a hair octopus.
