Question 1

Does this work for ice climbing and ski touring?

Rick, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello Noah, thank you for your question. The Lithos SL Harness is designed primarily for sport climbing, where its lightweight construction and streamlined design help maximize performance and freedom of movement. While it may be suitable for some alpine uses, it was not specifically developed for ice climbing or ski touring. For those activities, you may wish to consider the Skaha Harness, which is designed to provide greater comfort during extended wear, hanging, and a broader range of climbing applications. We hope this helps.

Question 2

Please provide the exact dimensions of the thigh loop for marking A. What is its length (circumference) without stretching the elastic band, and what is its length (circumference) with the elastic band stretched? My thigh circumference is 50 cm, so this i

Hi Macek, thank you for your interest in the Lithos SL Harness. We'd be happy to provide the available measurements for the leg loop options.
Size A (Regular/Smaller Thigh - Regular Rise) - Circumference: 54 cm
Size B (Larger Thigh - Longer Rise) - Circumference: 59.5 cm
With a thigh circumference of 50 cm, the Size A leg loops would be expected to provide a snug fit. If you typically prefer additional room through the thigh area or require a longer rise, the Size B may be worth considering. As a reminder, the leg loops should fit snugly around your upper thighs without any pressure points, and should feel neither too tight nor too loose. We hope this helps!

Question 3

You carry two versions of a women-specific harness, but then there's this one. What makes this appropriate for all genders as opposed to the others with a specifically gendered fit?

Blake · Accepted Answer

Hello, and thank you for your question. The Lithos SL Harness takes a different approach to fit compared to traditional men's and women's harnesses. Rather than using a gender-specific fit, it is designed as a unisex system that allows you to select both your waist size and thigh circumference independently, helping climbers achieve a more personalized fit based on their individual body proportions. This approach recognizes that climbers come in a wide variety of body types that do not always align with traditional gendered sizing, allowing for greater flexibility in finding the right combination of comfort, mobility, and performance.

Question 4

Hello, it would seem I’m not the only one having trouble measuring the leg loops. I’m a 32” waist, my legs measure around 26”’ yet even the large leg loops are only 24”.
Considering you don’t allow returns I’m unsure how to proceed?

Luna · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for your question. We’re sorry to hear that you’re having difficulty determining your best size in the Lithos SL Harness. We understand how important proper fit is in a climbing harness, including both a secure waist and comfortably fitting leg loops. Fit can vary depending on body shape and the clothing worn during measurement, so the sizing chart serves more as a guideline. The Lithos SL Harness leg loops feature elastic, allowing them to expand and accommodate a wider range of body types. That said, we understand your concern, particularly as this is a final sale item due to health and safety considerations. If you find yourself between sizes, we recommend trying the harness on in-store to confirm the best fit and feel.
