Size up!

This shoe fits extremely small. Go up a full size. It also does not come with an insole and there is not very much space in the shoe to add an insole resulting in a very snug fit. I am glad that Arcteryx is now making running shoes with legit sticky rubber and a climbing zone. I wish I could wear these shoes for their intended purpose. The difference in sizing amongst the Arcteryx shoe line increases the difficulty of the shopping experience.

Toe Caps delaminated early/easily

I had an issue with these shoes that I’m certain warranty would have covered but I fixed myself. They just got broken in and I didn’t want to break in a new pair. I had them a month and were nicely broken in (collar at back to keep out debris is very tight when new-it does loosen up). The issue was the toe cap separated on both shoes from an easy climb. My Vertex Alpine have survived much harsher treatment. I had to order glue from the US; the Shoe Goo in Canada is a different product, it doesn’t work -(chemicals less harmful.). Also Loctite shoe glue isn’t for sale here. Left shoe: black shoe goo from centre of cap all the way right. Clear loctite near left of toe cap. Right shoe needed the clear Loctite from centre of toe cap all the way to the left.
Also, while shoes grip hard rock nicely, they slip on steeper hard organic matter that Salomon Speed Cross have no issues with. I feel the lugs are too short. Otherwise a great shoe.

Great quality, but super narrow.

These seem great but the sizing of the Arcteryx footwear line is all over the place right now. I ordered these in a size 9 based on the size guide and previous experience. I measured my foot at 26.5cm long, which put me in a size 8.5 on the US size guide. I sized up to 9 to get a looser fit because these are listed as a "precision fit." This is on par with my experience with other Arcteryx shoes. I've had the Norvan LD3, LD3 GTX, Vertex, Konseal AR, and 2 pairs of Norman VTs, all in size 9, and all fit well. Well, I got the shoes a day ago and tried them on and WOW are they narrow. Narrower even than the Konseal AR approach shoes. I ordered from REBIRD too, so no returns, because I was confident after wearing many other Arcteryx shoes. Lesson learned, I should have tried on in store. Overall build quality seems great and the shoes are super light. Unfortunately I'm stuck with a pair I can't squeeze into. If you're looking, size up a full size from Arcteryx recommendations and maybe 1/2 size over what you've worn from Arcteryx in the past. Maybe avoid these on REBIRD unless you've tried them on in store.

Technical and Comfortable

This shoe makes me rethink my need/want for approach shoes for climbing! With its stiffness, great rubber and low to the ground feel I get out of the forefoot of the shoe I am always incredibly surprised how comfortable it is when I actually take them for a trail run. Especially with trail running downhill with a heavy heel strike even after running down for a long time it feels surprisingly great!
The upper relative to leather offers less protection (obviously) so when it gets to the larger bouldery scree sections definitely need to be a bit more careful but with how light the shoes are worth saving the weight in my opinion.

Most Underrated Shoe

Design team nailed this one. Love it for hikes, runs and the daily wear. Forefoot stability is fantastic for the climb, unreal grip and solid enough for scrambles. The cushion in the heel is smooth and responsive. Never had such a high
performance shoe also feel at home during normal activities as well. The perfect hybrid.

I was a bit skeptical buying a running shoe from a brand that isn't known for their shoes but these turned out to be great. I have been using them for off road running on ATV/mountain/dirt trails. They are VERY LIGHT for such a sturdy shoe. Price point is good for this in my opinion.
They might not be a good fit for wide feet, however. My foot is narrow-ish and they fit perfect for me (e.g. I wear Bauer Vapor ice skates, which are for narrow feet.). I also had to go with shoe size smaller than what the chart recommended: I usually wear size 10M on the popular running shoe brands, the Arc'Teryx chart said 9.5M for my measured foot length but even that was too big and I ended up going with 9M.

Horribly Uncomfortable

As an avid outdoorsman and professional skier living in the PNW, I absolutely love Arc'teryx clothing and wear something from their collection almost everyday. Unfortunately, this pair of shoes is extremely uncomfortable and impossible to wear straight out of the box. I am very disappointed that I haven't been able to "break" them in after a month of trying. Sadly, this shoe doesn't meet the Arc'teryx standard that I have become accustomed to wearing. These shoes gave me blisters just wearing them around the house.
