Very disappointed... Bought this jacket in 2021, sent for repairs in 2024 through the official Arc'teryx repair system. The goretex layers were separating, and a blue cord was popping from the hood, but the jacket was still wearable. I am told the jacket is already out of warranty (after 3 years, though warranty is supposedly for life) because it is too degraded, and that they cannot make any repairs. If a 600€ jacket can only last 3 years of non-daily usage, then this is extremely dissappointing quality. I highly discourage buying this.

I have owned this jacket for a few months and am already regretting my purchase. A few days after getting the jacket, my partner noticed a weird stain around the collar. This stain does not go away, you can wash it was some detergent (have to be careful with the Gore-Tex) but it remains. I have to follow review guidelines so I can't speak more about this. Other than my particular issue, which to be fair, could likely be avoided by picking a darker color, there are some other issues. Like one reviewer mentioned, the sleeves are really long and the overall fit is weird. It's tight in the shoulders and chest but loose everywhere else. But, if you are a lanky skinny fat guy then this jacket might be the perfect fit for you. The DWR is the worst I have ever experienced. After a day or two of moderate (not heavy) rain, it already wore off. I was unable to refresh it in the washer/dryer so I had to apply a new DWR coating but that didn't work very long either. Because of the way the jacket fits, the "storm hood" isn't really that functional. If you are wearing anything on top of your head, or have long hair, you will still have to unzip your jacket in order to put the hood up, which kind of defeats the purpose. Then, because of the way the hood is shaped, it is impossible to get it tightened correctly so it doesn't keep flying down when you're in...a storm (or even moderately windy weather). Having a more traditional integrated hood would be lighter and better. I have also noticed patchy areas on my arms and chest where even though it is a 3 layer shell, the water can come through at parts where there are seams. I have not had this issue with other shells, except when the membrane started failing, not in a new jacket. The overall construction appears much lower quality than other shells I have had from Arcteryx or any other brand. There are other things I think you should know but I have to follow review guidelines so I won't. This jacket should be and easily could be much better for how much it costs.

I wanted to replace my old Theta AR with a new Beta AR. But the sleeves are just way too long. This has never been an issue with any brand of jacket I have ever purchased. So, I returned it. I notice the women's Beta AR has similar measurements to the men's, but with shorter sleeves. I plan to go try on a woman's jacket to see if the sleeves are manageable and the other dimensions are not problematic.

I was numb to receive my jacket, replacing my last Arc’teryx BETA AR. It was not the same quality material as the last jackets that had been replaced over the years. If possible, I would like someone to get back to me to sort this out. I really love the material the other ones were made from. This one feels cheap. Build quality and attention to detail on this jacket are wonderful. Waterproof zipper seals, vents, inner and outer pockets, vents, and hood design are some of the features I really appreciate. Love the new 2-toned colours this year for this jacket. This one is going to get a lot of use this year in the mountains!

I ReGEARed a handful of decade old Arc pieces and this is my second credit purchase... I sized down and this jacket EERILY fits perfect... hopefully it will last a decade like its Made in Canada Arc ancestors

Bought this jacket a few weeks ago and it fits so well along with keeping the wind and rain out. The more you wear it the better it seems to fit to your body. Only issue I have is the arms seem to be a touch too long, even for someone with slightly longer arms than most! Recommend this jacket for most things but perfect for hiking.

Had it for a month, and I absolutely love it. The fit is great, works amazing alone or worn over my Atom.

J'achetais presque tous mes articles de plein air arcteryx et c'est maintenant fini!!! j'ai acheté une veste Beta AR grandeur L en 2022.Je me suis commandé une seconde veste Beta AR L en fin 2023, car ma première c'est fendue. Il y a quelque semaine, à l'arrivé du printemps, je mets ma nouvelle veste et je constate que les grandeurs ont changé et que les manches de celle-ci sont beaucoup plus grande. Je prend des photos des 2 vestes Beta Ar que j'envoie à Artcteryx et ceux ci ne veule rien faire puisque mon délais de 30 jours est terminé. Je leur renvoie donc ma veste à mes frais qu'il la mesure et leur verdict ne change pas. On me propose de me la racheter pour 30% du prix. Le service à la clientèle est aucunement empathique et très rigide sur leur politique. Je suis très deçu et ne rachèterai plus ici. Il a trop de d’autre bonne marque qui respect leur clientèle.

Perfect for spring days and in general warmer days on the mountain. Ultra light & packable and it protects me from Wind, Snow, Rain and is super resistant for any mission on and off the Mountain. Really like the fit of the Jacket.

Bought the jacket almost 10 years ago, still my go to shell for rain, mountain biking, trekking to skiing. 5 years ago the heat-sealed seams started to split apart. I asked customer service what could be done, they made me send the jacket to their lab in Switzerland and re-stitched the whole jacket .. for free!! Unbelievable quality, supreme customer service. I have now atoms, beta, gammas and other gear- super happy.

I bought this jacket today. First day it launched the spring season. And it’s a lovely jacket. Classic design beautiful colours. Tons of colours. I love it BUT why the inconsistency within design. I only multiple gear from your guys. The older gears right up till earlier 2023 They have a common flaw. Non stitched hem. Where the bottom of the jacket would come apart as the jacket got old. That wasn’t really a big problem, but there is a lot of complaints. I can see the you guys try to solve the issue. You put the new stitched hem design in the newer gear. And it’s awesome. Beta lightweight, Sabre SV. Just to name a few gears that have this design. But WHY does the beta AR not get it. It is one of the most iconic jacket from you guys. But you guys don’t feel the need to make this gear more long lasting? there is so much talk about sustainability. If this jacket failed within the new few years. With your awesome warranty it probably will get replaced. But why let it get to that point? please please please take this into the future design

The shell sound like a plastic bag very loud. Shoulder very tight but sleeve to long... Nothing like my 2013 alpha sv... that delaminate for no reason... and that was not replaced as it was logically supposed... not impressed with the quality for the price.

I purchased the jacket a month ago and it’s AWESOME!

I’m very impressed with the cut and fit of this jacket. The manufacturer thought creatively regarding the range of movement required for various outdoor sports. The underarm gussets and extra sleeve length work well for overhead reaching while wearing a pack or harness. Of course the Goretex Pro provides excellent protection from the elements while remaining very breathable. Combined with the underarm vents, comfort on the move is easy to achieve. I’m certainly glad that I chose the BETA AR with the independent stand collar and fully adjustable hood. Whether wearing a helmet or not, you can always adjust the hood for the perfect fit. I am quite disappointed at the quality of this newly bought red Beta AR. You can see stains everywhere. A lot of white stains on the collars make me feel sick. There are also many unknown white stains on the front of the jacket. There are black stains on both cuffs. It seems like it has been worn by someone else before and got it returned. It simply can't be a new jacket. I have been a dedicated fan of Arcteryx. But I hope Arcteryx can really improve the quality of their product. Every time I return a jacket, I have to wait for nobody knows how long until it's been restocked. I don't want to waste so much time and energy getting sick of the product quality and return the item again and again.

I bought this to replace a 20ish year old Beta LT jacket...could not be happier. Bit lighter than the ARs I have had in the past and is perfect for what I needed it for...around town and hiking rain protection. Plus, it has that Arc'Teryx look which fits great. 5' 10", 190lbs, athletic build, Large fits perfect with some layering room to spare.

Recently bought this jacket and used it for the first time on a trip to Park City, Utah. I wanted a versatile shell that I could use for skiing, snowmobiling, and anything else I needed it for. This jacket worked great. Took plenty of falls on the slopes and had zero issue. The fabric is a good thickness and very durable. I would recommend this as a good all around shell. I’m 275 lb and bought an XXL. Wasn’t oversized but gave a good amount of room for layering underneath.

I have the winter 2021/2022 jacket. Arcteryx changes the dimensions on their Mens Small. Sleeve are about two inches longer than previous versions which is both annoying and leads to premature wear in the cuffs. The jacket is even boxier than previous versions. The chest pockets are too short to accommodate a radio.

I've had a few versions of this jacket over the years and I will confidently stand in a torrent of a storm. They're robust, well-fitting, and secure. And then there's the design features that make it perfect. I also use this jacket professionally with Search and Rescue. It has never let me down in any application.

Veste acheté en juillet 2023. A commencé à être portée fin octobre 2023. Mi décembre 2023, l'élastique de la capuche se détache de son accroche. Quelques jours plus tard, je constate également l'état de la poche droite. Le service client a été réactif et m'a proposé de retourner la veste au centre de réparation arcteryx en suisse. En somme un matériel dont la qualité laisse clairement à désirer, 25€ de frais de port pour renvoyer la veste en plein milieu de la saison, je suis assez amer de mon expérience. J'amenderai mon avis quand j'aurai un retour du service client / centre de réparation.
