Incredibly waterproof, good fit for layering with sweaters or light puffy's underneath. Unziping from the bottom allows more leg room for steeper climbs. Double zip front pockets take a bit to get used to but neat feature. Collar shields against the wind without having to put the hood up.

Love this jacket

Jacket is great, super lightweight but somehow quite warm. It has a soft feel, and it's thin like paper, but works very well for summer and great to layer in the winter in Vancouver with just a sweater under it. The hoodie has an adjustable strap and it stays on no matter the wind which is a big plus. Overall I love it, very happy with the purchase.

Love the length

Love the length and the overall fit of this coat. I was looking for something a bit longer for the days when I'm in the city vs. hiking. This coat works perfectly for errands, etc. Gives me nice coverage and I love how roomy the pockets are (they can seriously hold everything). The fit is a bit larger which makes layering easy without looking as if I've been stuffed into the coat.

Great but not for me

I wanted to love this jacket but it just didn't suit me. The jacket is a great length, long enough to provide coverage and still be versatile. Its really lightweight and packs down quite well. I didn't really notice any noise from shell when moving. Overall fit is quite roomy for layering (Size Small).
The only reason not a full 5 star is that it makes me feel flat and wouldn't say its overally fitting for me/my body type (lean, straight with not much hip and smaller bust). Overall not a flattering coat but excellent quality

Stylish rain jacket

This is the perfect city rain jacket! I wanted something comfortable and stylish in the rain but not too rugged looking. I think the design and fit are simple/elegant/flattering and love how it can either swing or cinch. You can wear a cashmere or chunky sweater underneath and not feel bulky. Love it.

Fit still needs serious work

I was so excited to see this jacket and read about the revised fit (and adjustable back). I am a huge Arc’teryx fan, I have at least 25 jackets from the past 15-20 years…I could be sponsored by the company and have raved about dozens of different products over the years, yet as a super athletic 95 lbs woman I find the new fits challenging. I was really pleased it came in an XXS, I was excited about the color…but the fit is still SO off…at least for a smaller person, and I can’t really see who this jacket is going to work for. I was drowning the the jacket, and because it was so big it was like wearing a large garbage sack around the house. Maybe over time the material would not be a crunchy or stiff…but it was a fail. I didn’t have to think twice about sending it back. I was bummed. If this trench was styled different it could be a perfect addition to the collection, but it needs some serious reworking.

Great fit, waterproof, lightweight and covers my backside. Never have to worry again about the freezing rain blowing under my pack and freezing my cheeks. Great length and doesn’t ride up under my pack. Good covers well over a brim.

I have worn my Beta Coat for the past week fat biking and hiking around a Hebridean island in extremely wet conditions. The coat is breathable and kept me completely dry. Sand and sea water, peat bog and sheep poop can all be sprayed off at the end of the day leaving the coat remarkably clean. Scotland is being inundated like never before but it was not too much for Arc'teryx.

I love the Beta Coat, it’s fit, length and material. I have the Codetta, Imber and Andra jacket and wanted the Beta Coat as an alternative shell that can be layered for the city but also for hiking. I highly recommend this jacket as a shell for beautiful west coast weather we have here in Vancouver.

Excellent jacket, finicky zipper

Wore this for light to moderate activity in the Pacific Northwest with temps ranging from 45-65F. Transitions perfectly from cool to warm and breathes like a dream. Kept me warm in the morning with a mid layer, cool in the afternoon sun, and dry in the rain. The fabric is on the thinner side and it's not as substantial as my Beta AR shell. However, it's extremely roomy and lightweight. The 2-way zipper did give me some issues when connecting the bottom parts so that is my only complaint.

I have also had a few problems with “finicky zippers.” One jacket I simply returned, and another was recently sent back to have the zipper replaced.

Nice understated style and fit

I love my new rain coat, I've always wanted a proper waterproof rain coat living on the west coast. My only slight issue with the jacket is the zipper can be fussy. I wore it unzipped all yesterday because I felt rushed and didn't have the patience to fuss with it. It might be that I'm still getting used to it? Other than this, I love it, no regrets! :)

For the price I would have liked side vents and a waist cinch to be able to adjust it. It looks like a tent on me and the fabric is super thin. I am worried it will tear easily. So I will be careful with it.

Great Rain Coat- Wish it was longer

I love the coat but would like it to be mid calf length. I cannot find any lightweight waterproof mid calf length raincoats anywhere. I sized up to a Medium for layering. I am 5'6" 110 lbs. Arcteryx seems to run smaller than other brands

The material and hood for this coat are great for a rainy urban environment. I also like the longer length, as I walk for my daily commutes and it is nice to have more coverage.Two things that I would change are the fit in the mid section -the coat billows out a little in the mid section around the waist, which makes it fit a little strangely, and the 2 way zipper -it is difficult to zip the coat. Otherwise, I think it is a great coat for living in the PNW and I am thankful to have a reliable longer rain coat.

Excellent longer length for us taller gals!

Love this longer length jacket as a water-repellant outer layer during winter activities. And, it fits over my down layer! I only wish Arctyrex would add pit zips to the design, then it would always be in my pack for winter snowshoeing & hiking. Why oh why is it so challenging to find longer length Goretex jacket WITH PIT ZIPS? Please, help out us taller gals who want a little more coverage and still able to unzip to cool down when going uphill.

Agree, this jacket needs underarm ventilation, surprised it hasn’t, I would definitely purchase this jacket with underarm zips. I have the Zeta, love it, wish I could purchase another one.

I bought this coat in black to replace an older long coat I had by Arc'teryx. This coat is so roomy for layers and movement - I love the fit! Whereas my older jacket was cinched at the waist and form-fitting. The two way zipper is perfect and it keeps me nice and dry on walks.

Love the longer length on a classic jacket

I have a short beta for more active pursuits and love it. I wanted to try the longer version for a more urban look and love it. The straighter cut works for me. Awesome for the rainy west coast winter with some room for layers.

I bought this in the Moonlit color, love the length and really comfortable (not as crunchy as some of my other rain jackets). Have only worn a couple times around the city and walking the dogs. No doubt it will hold up well on a casual hike.

I love this coat, very light and functional! I am 5’5, 143lbs. This coat has the perfect length on me. I usually wear M with Arc’teryx, but with this coat, size S works fine for me and I can still wear a layer like thin fleece inside.

新しいePEメンブレンテクノロジーは、より軽く、より薄く仕上げつつ、従来の素材と同等の強度と耐久性を実現しています。ePEメンブレンを使用した製品では、表面素材がやや湿っぽくなりやすいように思われるかもしれませんが、メンブレン自体の防水性には影響しませんのでご安心ください。生地が思ったより湿っぽくなりやすいと感じた場合は、ジャケットを洗濯・乾燥して油汚れを除去すると、DWRの防水機能が蘇ります。
