Veste acheté en juillet 2023. A commencé à être portée fin octobre 2023. Mi décembre 2023, l'élastique de la capuche se détache de son accroche. Quelques jours plus tard, je constate également l'état de la poche droite. Le service client a été réactif et m'a proposé de retourner la veste au centre de réparation arcteryx en suisse. En somme un matériel dont la qualité laisse clairement à désirer, 25€ de frais de port pour renvoyer la veste en plein milieu de la saison, je suis assez amer de mon expérience. J'amenderai mon avis quand j'aurai un retour du service client / centre de réparation.

I received my Beta AR jacket recently and have not had the chance to fully enjoy/test the jacket just yet so this review will be aimed more at Arc’teryx’s exceptional customer service. Here’s an example: I was on a ski trip a month ago and was using my Stingray jacket from 2006 when, on the last day, the snow skirt tore off. The rest of the jacket was still in incredible shape but I thought I’d contact Arc’teryx anyways. Upon contacting them, I was told I could get a 100% credit for the full price of the jacket—an 18 year old jacket! I have since sent in my old jacket and used the credit to purchase my new Beta AR that I am sure will accompany me on many more adventures. I was very impressed with this level of service, please keep it up going forward Arc’teryx!

This jacket is fantastic, but the company itself is beyond amazing. I had first purchased this jacket in 2007. Recently the seam tape on the inside started coming loose. I sent the jacket into Arcteryx for repair. They notified me of their inability to repair back to original condition. They gave me a credit of 100% of the original cost of the jacket and said I could use that credit toward the purchase of a brand new jacket. I am unaware of another company that would do something like that. Incredible! I am an Arcteryx customer for life. Their products are terrific. Original cost is pricey, but the company stands behind their products as evidenced by their credit of 100% of the original purchase price after 17 years of use. I am still blown away by how they took care of me. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Bought this jacket at the end of 2022, used it mainly for hiking (less than 10 times). The inner side pocket of the jacket started cutting through the goretex membrane from the interior. Filled out a product service request as this shouldn’t be happening on a 1 year old jacket, only to be told that the damaged is due to normal wear and tear. Normal wear and tear within a year for a jacket that cost 750$? Arcteryx is not the same anymore, it used to be a good durable brand that stand behind their product but the only thing that as been increasing in the last couple years are the prices…

Firstly, I want to express my gratitude to all those who took the time to leave reviews on this item, assisting me in selecting my first jacket. I primarily utilize this jacket for work purposes, opting for the black variant. It accommodates my daily walks of 8-15 miles, with its pocket placement allowing me to relax my arms and conserve energy. Standing at 6 feet tall, my weight fluctuates between 157-198 pounds depending on the season. Hence, I chose the large size for its versatility over the medium, affording me the option of a longer fit. Moreover, I can adjust its length by zipping it accordingly. Overall, this jacket serves as an excellent shell, shielding me from rain, and its layering capability further influenced my decision to purchase it. I trust this review aids someone in their decision-making process!

Rock solid shell. Have been wearing it daily. Plus I recently skied in it. It repelled all the elements: rain, sleet and wind. Hood fit perfectly over my helmet and the pit zips dumped a load of heat when I I was overheating. I'm athletic 5'9, 180lbs and the large fits perfectly. Just loose enough to easily layer without being a tent when I eventually wear just a t-shirt under come summer.

I bought the jacket and haven't wear it yet, then found some minor cuts on it after a month, contact the warranty team and they claimed can only send me some tape and no exchange or warranty can be done, so as i can recall and aware of, lifetime warranty means not even a month. I'll change the rating once i receive a good solution from Arc’teryx.

Bought this on April 3rd, 2023. The hood already has a problem that renders the jacket useless. Tried to put in a request to get it repaired but the website seems to purposefully not work so I will just keep getting a error message when I make a request. This jacket is not durable as I barely wore it!

My third Beta AR. The piece you want in your pack for rain and/or high winds. At 6 feet, 155 pounds, 40 inch chest, a medium fits fine though a little tight under arms with an atom AR puffy. An heavier layer would not be comfortable and a size large Beta AR would be way too big. Arteryx service is fantastic.

I have multiple Beta AR jackets so that I can have one that is covered in soot and sap for camping and tripping, and another that I can wear in the city, casually and formally. the AR for me is truly a 4 season jacket, I wear it with vents open all summer, and as a wind and snow blocker with an insulated hoody underneath all winter. In my opinion its the perfect shell jacket, quality enough to take whatever you put it through, and nice enough to wear to a wedding if it's threatening to rain. It's easy to wash and maintain, I wear a beta AR many days a year

I bought this jacket in the fall, its proved versatile in layering, breathes well, and is incredibly waterproof. Great pockets and a nice looking collar make it good for the city and remote locations alike.

J’ai acheté cette article fin novembre 2023, et rencontré beaucoup de problèmes avec cette veste : Première problème : le Goretex n’a jamais été efficace sous une pluie fine et peu intense, J’étais trempé. Et ce n’est pas faute de l’avoir lavé et imperméabiliser avec les produits Arc’teryx comme recommandé par le SAV et par les vidéos YouTube, Arc’teryx . Deuxième problème : la solidité. La veste est censé être encore pro Goretex très solide que j’ai sur d’autres produits de la marque alors que là je l’ai simplement coincé dans la fermeture éclair, la veste est déchiré Troisième problème : Cela fait maintenant deux semaines que j’essaye de joindre le service SAV, je n’ai toujours pas eu de réponse… Je tiens à dire que du fait qu’elle n’a jamais été étanche. Je ne l’ai jamais porté comme veste d’alpinisme, mais uniquement comme veste coupe-vent de ville.

I bought my Beta AR 2 years ago and wore it only for 1 winter, as I usually live in a warm climate. It had very limited use and even though I took care to not expose it to any damaging liquids or similar, its water resistant properties started fading. I sent it to the Arcteryx team and received no support other than a discount to buy a new one. When I asked how it was damaged or what to avoid next time, I was given no solution. When asked if there was anything to be done, the answer was simply “no”. It’s extremely frustrating as I also own other Arcteryx garments such as an Atom AR which I love, but I’m now concerned that if anything happens to it I won’t be receiving any support. Don’t recommend this product.

Got this for my husband for Christmas. He is 6’4” and 220lbs and the XL is perfect. The good is perfect and provides great protection. He’s already worn it with layers during wet and snowy conditions and he is very happy!

I recently bought the Beta AR in September and has sat in my closet until recently. I pulled it out of my closet to give it a good test run outside in the heavy rain in PNW. To my disappointment the jacket had some quality issues. There is a spot on the right sleeve that was completely wetter out. It was the size of a slow pitch ball or roughly 6" in diameter. Not only that, I noticed a fabric flaw in the middle of the wetted fabric spot. This dark spot is not only seen on the face fabric but extends through all of the layers to the inside of the jacket. It is also seen as a dark spot. Upon further inspection of the jacket, the DWR coating was not applied evenly over the entire coat. There were spots all over the sleeves, the waste band, front and back, the hood, shoulders, cuffs (inside and out), etc. that were wet after first time use. It is heart breaking to see a premium product turn out to be constructed poorly. The jacket fits a bit on the larger side and the hood is MASSIVE. Understandingly you can use with helmets. One needs to pull all cordage adjustments almost to their max to make the hood fit without dropping over your eyes. Perhaps a similar model with two options would be beneficial here. One for those who want to use with helmets and ones who do not. Alternatively, perhaps better control over the sizing or draw cord system. The sleeves are also quite long. 0.5"-1" shorter sleeves would have been good in my opinion. The good: The jacket held up really well in the heavy rain except for the defective spots mentioned above. The water beaded off the parts that had proper application of the DWR coating. Jacket is quite comfy and I like the colour.

The Beta AR jacket is great for all around activities and for leisure! The fit is very comfortable and with a mid layer its good for winter condition so usefull for 3 seasons! I love the colour Navy (black sapphire. Its light but windproof and waterproof. I bought a Nuclei jacket also to wear as a mid layer and its very warm despite being very light and comfortable. Lots of pockets and opening that are well positioned! The quality of the material is outstanding and its a very stylish design.

I am really satisfied with my recent purchase. Great quality jacket.

Had two (if not three) Large Beta AR for decades. Had leak issues with the last one. I returned it. Arcteryx gave me a voucher to get a new one. Great. So I ordered a new Beta AR Large. Received it 2 days later (That's fast!) I tried it on and it felt roomy enough to fit a 200 pound person. I'm six feet and 155 pounds. My weight has not changed in 10 years. I returned it right away so I could re-order a medium instead. I'm wondering: why this dramatic change in sizing?

Great updates from my original Beta AR I purchased 8 years ago! Really like the extra length on the jacket.

I sent in my 2013 Made in Canada Beta AR (sigh) for repair after the hem gave out. I whomped on that thing for 10 ski seasons and it really was a fantastic jacket. When they emailed me that I could replace it with the new model for $70 I had to think long and hard about it but I am glad I did. Customer service process was very clunky (took about a month to get an answer) - so instead of emailing call them. The new model is definitely a much different jacket in fit and construction. My use case is as a ski jacket so keep that in mind that some changes may be awesome for me but not for your use case. In short if you aren't going to layer under this jacket - then size down BUT if you plan to add multiple layers (even down layers) then order your normal size. Some of the changes I noted from my 2013 model are; much longer in the front and back. The jacket now fully covers my longest mid layers which is a nice change. The collar is MUCH higher and provides way better protection that the 2013 model. Just a note about this - since the collar is much higher you can not wear hooded mid layers under this coat (go with the storm hood model instead). The sizing in the mid part of the jacket is larger than the 2013 model which accommodates any mid layer you could reasonably want to wear (prior 2013 model I was straining it with a mid weight down jacket under it). The sleeve design is way, way, way improved. They have basically 3D cut the sleeve to match your arm articulation now whereas before it was just a straight down cut. Articulation is really good. My only minor gripe with the fit is the sleeves are MUCH longer. My jacket is going down over ski gloves so not a huge deal and I get it why they did this - you had to increase sleeve length when you make everything else longer or else it looks wonky. Materials. The updated Gore-Tex Pro fabric has an amazing feel to it and is much less crinkly than the 2013 version I had before. I got the blue tetra color and oh man the website does not do this justice. Its amazing. The jacket color does have a bit of sheen to it but it really has a nice look. Both the 80D reinforced areas and the 40D areas have a very nice feel to them. The zippers for the pockets and pit zips are light years ahead of my 2013 model - meaning they are much easier to operate. This jacket is Made in Vietnam. Overall construction seems top notch and the stitching is the best I have seen on any jacket. Time will tell if it remains as durable as my 2013 did. Overall I think this is the best hardshell Arcteryx makes (for my use) as they have the fit dialed in just right (big but not huge, room for layers, but not sloppy). As a comparison I tried the Sabre jacket in large and that thing fits like a shower curtain. I'm 5'9" tall and 190 lbs with a 42 inch chest and 34 inch waist. I got the large.

This is a solid jacket. Feels well constructed and I am hoping that it will last a long time. It is a great everyday jacket in our rainy climate.
