Not what it used to be

I bought this jacket in 2018 and the pocket seams came apart. Arcteryx allowed me to replace it, and this is not the same jacket. I was aware that they had revised the fit several years ago, and I was prepared for that, but so much more than that was changed, and not in a good way. I much preferred the old fit, it was comfortable, but it always felt sleek. The new fit was more unkempt, the arms were too wide and there was too much fabric in the armpit area. The fabric... was not the same. The outer layer used to be smooth, almost like the finest grit sandpaper you could imagine. The new one had a weird grid to it, and it looked cheap. Was it warm? No. The old jacket used to be my go to in the -35 winters of Saskatchewan. I had a few winter months between jackets, and I would layer up in a sweater, a compact puffer, and a $100 aritzia jacket outside. When I received my new Arcteryx jacket, I thought I could go back to layering less.. but to my surprise, it was no warmer than my $100 aritzia jacket. In the end, I returned it. It was uncomfortable and not warm, and $900 more expensive than my more-comfortable and more-warm aritzia jacket (after tax). I'm so disappointed in what's happening to arcteryx.

Light weight with roomy fit

The coat is extremely light weight and has a nice, roomy fit and is a good knee length. It's not as warm as expected for Toronto winter temperatures (bitter cold). What's most disappointing is the button flap fastens on the right hand side. Women's coats/shirts fasten on the left side so it's taken some time to mentally make this adjustment.

COLD

SO COLD. This jacket is extremely poorly insulated for $1000. I have only had for two weeks and it does not keep me warm. The store refuses to accept the return or exchange since I do not have the original tags for the jacket and the customer service people from Arc’teryx central also are no help. So disappointing.

Je suis frileuse et j'ai enfin trouvé un manteau chaud et coupe vent et pluie, il est confortable, je me sens bien isolée du froid sur tout le corps y compris les genoux qui sont bien recouverts ( je fais 1,54m) J'habite dans le sud de la France, il ne fait pas très froid, mais quand le mistral souffle, le ressenti est terrible, on est transpercé en hiver, et là je suis très bien protégée, contente de mon achat

A warm, dry coat for life.

Placement of the inside pocket is much appreciated as any contents inside do not make one “breast“ larger than the other ;) The freedom of movement around my arms is like nothing I have had in any other coat that gives this much protection from the wet and cold. The cover over the zippers and snaps -minimal detail is very nice. My only request would be that it had inside pockets on both sides, for both left and right handed people. The extra pocket would come in handy for anyone – and as it does not take away from the look of the coat simply because of the placement, it would be a very good addition

Not for cold temperatures!

Very disappointed with the warmth of this jacket. The zipper broke on my Centrale Park model I had for 5 years and it was sooo warm. Arcteryx recommended this coat as the replacement. Unfortunately, this jacket is not nearly as warm as the Centrale Park. Even with tons of layers, I've switched back to an older coat of a different brand. This coat is definitely not worth the price point

Great quality, but not stylish

Love the jacket. Light weight, versatile and comfortable. I'm 5"1' , 108 lbs. Bought XS. It comes a bit below my knees. Wished it was shorter. Perhaps it works better for taller women. I wished it looked more stylish. It's kind of very plain and simple style. And for me too long. The inside zipper picket is located too low. In order to access, I have to open the zipper all the way to my waste. I would've preferred the picked was located higher on the chest, therefore, easier to access.
