It’s warm and toasty

We sent this to our daughter in Montreal. Right now they are experiencing so much snow, they got over 1 foot last night! She uses this to shovel and use the snow blower and also to walk the dogs. It’s also perfect when she has to sit thru our grandsons hockey games.

Beautiful jacket, not as warm as I hoped

While this jacket looks good and is roomy and comfortable, I’m disappointed in the windproofing in the cold. I thought at the price point it would handle -20 better, but I can feel the chill in the front chest and arms. The back of the coat seems to be insulated better, and with my back to the wind I’m significantly more comfortable. The extra length does not exactly provide extra protection from cold and wind either unfortunately. I really want to love this jacket as much as all my other Arc’teryx products but it’s just not what I thought it would be.

The jury is still out. The pockets are great but I am not convinced by how warm it is… I felt a little chilly in London with this coat.

Arc'teryx Liatris Down Parka

This parka is an excellent choice for tackling harsh winters, particularly here in Calgary. The length is fantastic—plenty of coverage without feeling restricted when fully zipped. For those with a longer stride, the side zippers will come in handy, allowing for increased range of motion when needed.
This parka is incredibly warm, and it truly excels in extreme temperatures. I've worn it comfortably in -30°C with only a base layer underneath. The number of pockets is another highlight—there are plenty of options for stashing essentials, and the outer pockets are lined, which adds a layer of warmth and comfort for your hands.
For sizing reference, I’m 5’6” and 130 lbs, and took an XS. I still have lots of room for layering, but without the parka feeling too bulky or oversized. If you have longer arms, you might find the sleeves a bit short and/or may want to size up for extra length.

Warm and dry.

Finally had the opportunity to wear this in the UK cold weather. It definitely kept me warm and dry. I’m struggling a little with the zip - it does up the opposite way to all my other winter wear and doesn’t seem to do up easily. Next time I’m in London, I will go into the shop to see what they think.

I just received this coat and wore it in -15C. I felt warm with just a light cotton shirt underneath. I’ve been looking for a light, but warm coat. I get cold easily and feel weaker these days, so this coat definitely fits my needs perfectly. I was attracted to this brand simply because the style is basic and functional, as well as waterproof/water resistant. This coat is being used in an urban/suburban setting with 30-90minutes outdoors extremely low impact/activity. I'm not an active person by any means; I simply needed a coat that keeps me warm. I'm 5’6”, 195lbs, wear XL in other brands (banana republic, gap, old navy), and I ordered this coat in XL. There's room for my thicker cashmere sweaters or hoodies if I need them. The sleeves are the perfect length (goes past my wrists, covering 1/3 of my hand). Inner sleeve cuffs could be much better. More appealing color options would be nice as well. I wish the coat came with care instructions for how to wash/clean it. I'm hoping it lasts a long time considering the high price.

My new winter jacket

I love this jacket. It’s incredibly warm and waterproof Has so many pockets especially on the interior which are so useful. Super cute as well and has so much room for layers. I’m 150 lbs, 5’6 and for a medium which was perfect
