Delaminated membrane, look for something else!

As a mountain guide, I need good shells. Bought one from arc teryx a few years ago, used it for different hikes but not every day, maybee 50 times max, washed it properly with recommended expensive product but the membrane delaminated. Contacted arc teryx, sent it to Switzerland, the "expert" said it was contaminated (never had more information after asking more questions). They proposed 40%off or send back, as I decided I never would buy again from them I got it back, use it for gardening. Worst service ever, more expensive than other brands, look for something else!

Arcteryx in my opinion was a good Company in the beginning more they grow quality suffered so I stopped buying Arcteryx after I get few bad products. on the end its Globalization era where customer isn't appreciated as before, if you don't want to buy pure schmuck from third world Country would to be cool with name brand item :-)

Excellent jacket

I found the jacket as described on the website. I reviewed the sizing chart repeatedly before purchasing, and it turned out to be correct for me. The fit was perfect, which has been a challenge. I'm 5'10", 195 lbs, with a chest of 46-47 inches, and long arms. It's light, well designed, with very functional pockets, and a collar that's separate from the hood. All in all I'm very pleased with the purchase.

It’s in the name — the best all round

The beta AR is a proven winner; not too hot for the occasional summer storm but really coming in to its own in early spring and late fall. As for winter, the perfect outer when the wind and snow kick up. I love the pit zips, they are like having a built in thermostat. Build quality is excellent.

Great lightweight shell

Purchased this product 2 months ago so I haven't needed to wear it very often so far in the summer months, but living next to lake superior in upper michigan on the cold windy/rainy days it hasn't let me down. Weather it's MT biking in the rain or fishing off shore. It's a wind blocker for sure.

I was the only dry person on the trip!

This shell is an amazing rain jacket. I bought mine in 2021. Recently, on a 6-day, 5-night spring Smokies Mountains trip, it rained hard every day except for the days when it was snowing! Needless to say, it was cold and wet. Out of our group of 8 hikers, I was the only one with an Arcteryx jacket (the Beta AR), and I was the only one in the group that stayed dry throughout the trip. After the trip I noticed some delamination on the sleeves, but Arcteryx warranty is excellent and they covered the replacement cost of the jacket. Buy the jacket, use it, enjoy it, and wash it more often than you think you should.

Stylish robust outdoor shell

Stylish jacket which has some excellent practical features. Although some have complained about the arm length I have found this to be a perfect fit. The extra length means that when I pair it with my cerium jacket the shell sleeves cover all of the mid layer and don't ride up with certain movements.
In time I'm sure this jacket will serve me well in my outdoor pursuits.
Only negative is that it's more costly than other market equivalents.

I’ve had this jacket about a year now, only one winter. When layered properly this thing is solid in the snow. Rest of the year I wear it on its own when it rains and it’s perfect. Doesn’t get better than this!!

Love this jacket and exceeded my expectations. Living in Alaska I am constantly hiking and camping and on the boat in the rain and I have never experienced being wet with this jacket. Also doubles as my ski jacket and does a great job blocking any thing that comes its way.

Great fit, i always wear a size Large and after reading the reviews on this being a large cut jacket i stuck with a Large and its perfect. plenty of room for layering etc under this. Will be using it for hiking, every day wear and skiing on warmer days

I've had the same Beta shell for 10+ years, it was time for an update. The new AR looks and fits great, excited for the new stand-up collar & drop hood, and another decade of protection from the elements.

A jacket that cost 600€ and made with PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) chemicals? No way. I will return it right away, there are better and cheaper options.

While it still features a C6 DWR, we are working on shifting our products to become PFC-free. We recommend looking at the Beta SL Jacket and Beta Jacket for PFC-free alternatives.

Absolutely the best jacket for everyday use and/or trips. Whatever the weather is, you will always be dry and warm. Definitely worth the price.

Veste de qualité

Pour remplacer mon ancienne veste Beta AR, j'ai retrouvé les qualités de cette excellente veste avec en plus un choix de coloris plus étoffé. J'ai déjà testé cette veste sous des journées entières de pluie sans jamais être mouillé ni par la pluie, ni par la transpiration.
Toutefois, j'ai trouvé que les manches étaient plus longues que sur mon ancienne veste qui datait de 2014.
