Is there a leash to the mittens?

Hi Christina, thank you for your question. The Venta Mittens do not include a leash. They don’t have an attachment point or any built‑in feature that allows them to be clipped together.

Why is it only for cross country ski, not for down hill ski?  What are they different?

The Venta Mitten is designed specifically for high‑output activities like cross‑country skiing, winter hike and touring, where breathability and wind protection are essential, and where hands stay warm through constant movement. Downhill skiing typically requires more insulation and more robust weather protection, since you spend more time on lifts, in colder wind, and with less continuous motion to generate heat. Both activities demand different performance priorities, which is why the Venta is optimized for high output activities use rather than lower output activities like resort skiing.

Are these mittens PFAS free?

Hello there, yes, the Venta Mitten is PFAS‑free. This style uses 3L GORE‑TEX WINDSTOPPER with an ePE membrane and a FC0-DWR, both of which are PFAS‑free technologies. We hope this helps!

Are these gloves vegan? What material is the reinforcement on the thumb?

Hello Michael, the Venta Mitten features pleather (synthetic leather) reinforcement on the thumb, meaning it does not contain animal-derived leather. The insulation and lining are also made from synthetic materials. While we cannot officially certify this product as vegan, it is highly unlikely that animal by-products are present in the majority of our products — with the exception of items that explicitly contain down, wool, or leather. That said, due to the complexity of global apparel and footwear supply chains, we unfortunately cannot guarantee that every component, including adhesives, dyes, or trace materials, is entirely free from animal-derived substances.

What is recommended to wear underneath the mitts.  My  hands are cold in these.

These mittens are designed to be lightweight and are ideal for high-output activities like snowsports, offering warmth without excess bulk. If you find that these aren’t keeping your hands warm enough, we recommend considering the Fission SV Mitten, which are built for more extreme cold and provide superior warmth and protection in harsh conditions.

Can these be ironed, or not? The online info says Do NOT Iron. The Tag on the Gloves says Low is okay.

Hi Wynn, thanks for reaching out. We don’t recommend ironing the Venta Mitten, as it could damage the materials. However, you can safely tumble dry it on a normal to low heat setting.

The Venta Mitten features breathable Octa Loft™ insulation that provides warmth. That said, we do not rate our garments for temperature as there are too many factors that influence this result from person to person.
