Question 1

I noticed the Mionn Insulated Jacket has tiny sparkles from its DWR coating. Since both sides are treated, is it normal for the lining to look significantly sparklier than the exterior

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for your question. Yes, what you're seeing is normal. The Mionn Insulated Jacket uses both TerraTex™ nylon on the exterior and a lightweight 20d nylon lining on the interior. Nylon can naturally have a slight sheen depending on the weave and yarn size. Because the lining is smoother and lighter than the TerraTex™ shell, it can reflect light more strongly and appear “sparklier” in certain angles or lighting. To clarify one point: the DWR treatment is applied to the exterior fabric only. There’s no DWR on the inside of the jacket, so the sparkle you’re seeing on the lining isn’t related to any coating; it’s simply the natural finish of the nylon.

Question 8

Could this be also worn as a spring and autumn jacket at 15-20° with a tshirt under it or is too warm. I am unsure how strong it's keeping warm.

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Mionn Insulated Jacket uses Coreloft Silver insulation with 60 gsm in some areas and 80 gsm in others, which provides lightweight warmth. Many people find it works well as a spring or autumn jacket. That said, we do not assign temperature ratings to our products because comfort can vary based on factors like activity level, personal warmth, and layering choices. We recommend referring to our layering guide for more tips on staying warm: https://arcteryx.com/de/de/shop/layering-guide/

Question 9

Can this be worn as a mid layer for snowboarding inside a shell. Mixed feeling between atom jacket but like this design better but done know it willBe warm enough.

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Mionn Insulated Jacket is a versatile insulated softshell designed to provide warmth and breathability. It can perform as a midlayer for skiing and snowboarding, adding insulation while allowing for freedom of movement. The Atom Jacket and the Mionn Insulated Jacket offer similar levels of warmth since both use synthetic Coreloft™ insulation. This means they provide reliable warmth even in damp conditions while remaining lightweight and breathable, making them great options for active use. That said, we do not rate our garments for temperature as there are too many factors that influence this result from person to person and we recommend referring to our layering guide for more tips on staying warm: https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/shop/layering-guide/
