Hi there, I've had a Codetta Coat for > 5 yrs. I've been washing it and using the repel treatment on it, but I've never reapplied a DWR. Is it too late to use the Nu DWR on it (i.e. will it still work?) Is there a point at which it won't work? Thanks

Hello there, thank you for your question. In most cases, it is not too late to reapply a DWR treatment, even on a garment that has been in use for several years. Before applying Nu Durable Water Repellent, we recommend thoroughly washing the coat with a technical detergent, such as Arc'teryx Nu Technical Detergent, to remove dirt, oils, and other contaminants that can reduce water repellency. Once the garment is clean, apply Nu Durable Water Repellent generously and according to the product instructions to achieve the best coverage and performance. While DWR treatments can help restore water repellency to the face fabric, the effectiveness will depend on the current condition of the garment and the fabric. There is no specific age at which DWR will stop working altogether, though heavily worn fabrics may not achieve the same results as newer ones. We hope this helps.

What is the useable shelf life of this product before and after opening for the first time?

Hallo und danke für deine Anfrage. Du kannst das NU DWR-Spray für deine Thorium 24K Gold Jacke benutzen – es eignet sich für Daunenprodukte. Die meisten Arc’teryx Produkte – auch die ohne GORE-TEX – werden in der Produktion mit einer wasserabweisenden DWR-Ausrüstung behandelt. Wenn Regen oder Feuchtigkeit nicht mehr am Außenmaterial deiner Thorium abperlt, kannst du das NU Spray benutzen, um die Wasserabweisung wieder herzustellen

The Gamma Lightweight is pre-treated with a DWR finish, so if you’re noticing that water is no longer beading off the surface, you’re absolutely welcome to apply the Nu Durable Water Repellent. The Nu Durable Water Repellent is formulated to maintain and protect hardshells, softshells, and other performance clothing, giving them a strong water‑ and dirt‑repellent finish, refreshing colours, and optimizing the breathability of waterproof‑breathable materials like GORE‑TEX. While it’s excellent for technical apparel, it’s not designed for tents or large outdoor fabrics, so we wouldn't recommend using it to re‑waterproof a tent fly.

Is drying mandatory to activate repellent? I just do not have dryer

Hi there, thank you for your question! You can certainly apply Nu Durable Water Repellent and let it air dry at room temperature, if you don't have a dryer. The solution in the Nu Durable Water Repellent activates by drying at room temperature without additional heat treatment. However, for optimal performance, we recommend putting the dried garment in the dryer, as adding heat can help improve the effectiveness of the water-repellent primer. We hope this helps!

Question 10

I  bought two bottles of Nu water reppellent treatment for my gore tex coats, I also have a 2018 Norvan  (shake dry ) jacket and I wonder if i can use it also on that jacket? Thanks .
